A word from Stagioni
Where tradition and modernity collide. The authentic Italian Restaurant opened in 2014 in the Myers Park neighborhood and features classics with a fresh, modern twist. Since opening their first restaurant 13 years ago, the Moffett's know from experience that life's greatest memories unfold around the dinner table and created Stagioni to bring friends and family together.
As seasons change, so do our appetites and food habits. Stagioni, which means "Seasons" in Italian, sets the stage for what the restaurant is about. Chef Larry Shreiber utilizes fresh, locally sources ingredients to create a seasonal menu filled with hand-made pastas, wood-fired Pizzas and slow-roasted meats.

My husband and I dined Saturday night at Stagioni. We were surprised at how busy and energetic the restaurant was! The service was excellent as was the food. The only downside is how tight the tables are so I wouldn't say it's a romantic place, or maybe just for a Saturday night it's not. It was also very very warm, other tables were noting this as well. The heat could be a challenge because of the fireplace for the pizzas….? The food is from local Charlotte area farms, it was excellent! Portions aren't huge but just right. We'd recommend the restaurant!

Food & service were fantastic. Seating along the wall makes you feel like a sardine. Surprise if you go early they try to seat you in the worst table possible in the corner with a waiter stand behind your right ear.--- Refuse it. Not a place I would take friends for a relaxing evening. Patrick is an a 5 star waiter. The Pasta dishes outstanding

The food was very good here! One of our dishes came out a bit room temperature, however it may be due to the fact that the front of house was a bit slow. We sat a while before someone asked for our beverage order. The front of house manager only touched one table - and didn't deliver the food correctly. We were very excited to try this place since they're associated with Barrington's and Good Food on Montord, both good places. When we walked in, it's very cute, but there was no hostess, so we stood there a while before we were greeted. This place has great potential, but the service needs to improve.

This was my second time at Stagionis and again I was not disappointed. We started off with a cocktail and appetizer. They offer a variety of cocktails to choose from(of which all sound delicious). While my appetizer was not for me, the presentation was appearing and my fellow diners enjoyed their appetizers. For dinner we ordered wine and our waiter was very helpful and knowledgable of the wine list. Our entrees were very tasty. My only complaint is when the restaurant is full it can be very loud

My wife and I enjoy dining out, and try to find new dining experiences. We went to Stagioni based on an article in The Charlotte Observer. The food was a 5-6 on a scale of 10 with small portions, without much flavor, and I would consider it overpriced for what was received. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is very loud, as the noise is unbelievable. I could not hear my wife speak, 2 feet away, without shouting. Secondly, there are too many tables, everyone is jammed together which contributes to the loud environment. 'I will not recommend this restaurant'. We went to Stagioni without any previous idea of what it would be like. We spent our money, paid the price for the admission and education and do not plan to return.

This is a really good restaurant in myers park. Great variety. I like that the pasta is made in house. Good pasta and surprisingly the pizza is good. The one thing I wish they would allow is to combine items from their 2 different charcuterie menus. Nice ambience. We will definitely go back there again.

We were seated immediately. Our server was very prompt and offered great suggestions. He checked in with us on a timely basis, but was not overbearing. The melon/tomato salad was very good and I loved the mushroom/truffle pizza. My friends got the grouper and it was prepared perfectly. I will go back again to try other items.

Our first dinner here was wonderful. This was our second and our last. The restaurant was so loud - well beyond "energetic." Waiter did not accurately hear our order due to the noise level- therefor entrée came very, very late. Tables were so close together (we were a party of 2) that we could not hear our own conversation over the loud talkers beside us. We will not be back.

After hearing so much about Stagioni, we were very excited to try it. Although it is incredibly loud, the atmosphere is unique and the open kitchen gives it a cozy feel. It took several minutes for our waitress to get to us (and it was not from a lack of staff), but when she did she was friendly and informative. On the whole, the food was disappointing. My salad was terribly over-salted...almost inedible. Our pasta course was average and the panzanella salad that came with the grouper was weighted down with dense bread and contained full leaves of mint. The highlight of the meal was the chocolate torte.

While the food was good and evening enjoyable, I do have two minor quibbles. One, while we indicated we were vegetarians on the open table reservation--and our waiter acknowledged it immediately--we found only two entree choices outside appetizers. Nothing could be changed. We thought a note about this should have been sent to us ahead of time. Most restaurants we eat at can adapt four or five entrees. Not here. Second, even though we told them it was our anniversary, no attempt was made to acknowledge this, including not waving the $25 corking fee. Everywhere in Charlotte has done this for us for a birthday or anniversary. This was disappointing.

Cooks burned the gnocchi, then the "manager/hostess" tried to pass it off as pan-seared-- it had a black burned crust on one side of the dumpling and was doughy on the other side. The manager treated us like we were morons for not wanting to eat burned food. The mussels were over-cooked and chewy. Only reservation time we could get was 5:45, yet the place was empty when we finally got to leave at 7:30. This place was so good when it first opened, but is now terrible. Don't eat here.

Had the opportunity to dine here for the 1st time since it opened about 3-4 months ago. I had heard some mixed reviews from my foodie group but must say it was an outstanding dining experience. The variety of great starters and the flavor and textures were fabulous. The environment is cozy and small enough to keep it intimate and the open kitchen is always fun and exciting. The server was great and we had a big time sampling a variety of good super tuscans. Looking forward to a trip back soon.

I was afraid that I would be alone in not loving Stagioni, but I see a large number of negative reviews here. What's the deal, Mr Moffet? Octopus itself was great, but the chickpeas were crunchy undercooked. Duck breast was tough; confit leg "cake" bone dry & an odd treatment for confit, no sauce for either. Wife's grouper generous, but overcooked, tough & dry, also unsauced. Looked forward to avocado ice cream, but were told they "ran out" -- early on a Friday night? No, you didn't run out, a decision had been made, and why didn't the server apprise me forehand? Bruce & Larry, the whole city wants this to be great. Surely you can do it; why not so far?

The noise level was almost deafening; people were screaming to be heard at their own table. Service was adequate but one of my orders was never brought. After several attempts to make reservations we finally got one on a Monday night; the food was good but not memorable with pasta over cooked and some weak accompanying sauces. Even though it's nearby I'll be in no rush to go back.

We have eaten at the other Moffet restaurants and were anxious to try this one. As with the other restaurants, the food and service were impeccable. I did find the menu somewhat limited but it was not a problem. What was a problem was the noise level. Perhaps it is because we are older (60+) but we find it difficult to enjoy a meal when we have to shout across the table. The noise is certainly less than Good Food on Montford Drive but it was high enough that while we would go back should friends want to go, we will probably choose not to return.

The menu at Spagioni is not your typical Italian fare. There are several small plate items to choose from and most of them are not recognizable. The stuffed peppers, stuffed cabbage, and quail were excellent. The rigatoni just so-so - sauce to strong. Drinks were top notch. The noise is stifling, but a fun place. All and all - an 7 out of 10.

I had high hopes from a friends review of this restaurant. I unfortunately was very disappointed. The menu was limited. I expected more "Italian" style dishes. The tomato bread was soaked with garlic so much I could not taste anything else after that. I ended up getting a bunch of side vegetables and dish of angel hair pasta. Even the pasta was a disappointment, it was dry and sticky. I really wanted to like this place, the ambiance was lovely. The wine was good, and the best part of the meal was the little bread rolls with dinner. Our waiter seemed very busy, but was attentive and took care of our disappointment by adjusting our bill which was greatly appreciated.

Really impressive effort here: from the decor, to the service, to the outstanding Italian fare on the menu. Particularly loved the open kitchen in the back of house, and the intimate feel of the space, as though we were in someone's home. Service was very attentive and the meal was exceptional, from the meat and cheese plate to the gnocchi and risotto. Plenty of fresh flavors and thoughtful combinations. My husband and I dined there on a Thursday evening and went to have salad, wine and Pizza. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The restaurant was full and very noisy. You almost had to scream at times to be heard. We sat at our table too long before any one inquired about some thing to drink. The waiters seemed preoccupied and not attentive enough. We finally received our drinks and told our waitress we had come to just have salad and try the pizza for a light meal. But for some reason, she brought our pizza first as if it were an appetizer. She admitted her mistake but did nothing to remedy it and said our salad would follow shortly. There seems to be some confusion and timing difficulty. Food, though, was great.

We were expecting great things but was quite disappointed. soup was quite good and small pizza was fine (but certainly not stellar nor a value). They're using good ingredients but seem to be they trying to reinvent Italian without first mastering the basics - unsuccessfully so far. A pasta dish was really tasteless, which is amazing, since it was house made. I saw at another table that the same dish was almost completely uneaten at the end of a meal, as was mine. Sausage appetizer with veg was fairly bland but completely overpowered by some chili "jam". Chilies seem to be in a lot of the dishes, without much thought. Food needs a lot of work. OK room decor; only color in the rooms were the red T-shirts of the waitstaff...

I was disappointed overall. I couldn't get the time slot I really wanted and had to go earlier but yet when the time I had wanted arrived, there were many available tables. The food was ok - nothing too interesting. The appetizer was great. My main dish was basically fish on top of tomatoes and it was pricey for the portion?? Dessert was my least favorite. I know that there is a current trend towards using savory flavors/ingredients in dessert, but it was overkill - my cannoli tasted greasy and salty - not what one expects of a cannoli. Sorry, not trying to be overly negative, but I do eat out a lot and make it to all the top restaurants in Charlotte. I probably will not return unless someone insists on going.
