A word from Stagioni
Where tradition and modernity collide. The authentic Italian Restaurant opened in 2014 in the Myers Park neighborhood and features classics with a fresh, modern twist. Since opening their first restaurant 13 years ago, the Moffett's know from experience that life's greatest memories unfold around the dinner table and created Stagioni to bring friends and family together.
As seasons change, so do our appetites and food habits. Stagioni, which means "Seasons" in Italian, sets the stage for what the restaurant is about. Chef Larry Shreiber utilizes fresh, locally sources ingredients to create a seasonal menu filled with hand-made pastas, wood-fired Pizzas and slow-roasted meats.

Diner Reviews
  • "The food was wonderful. Our server was outstanding. It was loud and packed but otherwise a very enjoyable dinner."

  • "Had a great meal and generally a good experience, but I have to admit, I may not go back just due to the noise level... if was really off the charts."

  • "While the food was good and evening enjoyable, I do have two minor quibbles. One, while we indicated we were vegetarians on the open table reservation--and our waiter acknowledged it immediately--we found only two entree choices outside appetizers. Nothing could be changed. We thought a note about this should have been sent to us ahead of time. Most restaurants we eat at can adapt four or five entrees. Not here. Second, even though we told them it was our anniversary, no attempt was made to acknowledge this, including not waving the $25 corking fee. Everywhere in Charlotte has done this for us for a birthday or anniversary. This was disappointing."

  • "Too noisy!!!!!!! Good food and our waiter was excellent!!"

  • "Cooks burned the gnocchi, then the "manager/hostess" tried to pass it off as pan-seared-- it had a black burned crust on one side of the dumpling and was doughy on the other side. The manager treated us like we were morons for not wanting to eat burned food. The mussels were over-cooked and chewy. Only reservation time we could get was 5:45, yet the place was empty when we finally got to leave at 7:30. This place was so good when it first opened, but is now terrible. Don't eat here."

  • "the evening my wife and I spent at Stagioni is going down in history! We had an amazing meal and the service was impeccable! The flavor profiles and plates were spot on to say the very least. My Cocktail was made with love and my wife said her wine was perfect with every course. I highly recommend Stagioni to anyone and everyone that have a serious love for food and ambiance. Service like no other! GO TO STAGIONI !"

  • "Had the opportunity to dine here for the 1st time since it opened about 3-4 months ago. I had heard some mixed reviews from my foodie group but must say it was an outstanding dining experience. The variety of great starters and the flavor and textures were fabulous. The environment is cozy and small enough to keep it intimate and the open kitchen is always fun and exciting. The server was great and we had a big time sampling a variety of good super tuscans. Looking forward to a trip back soon."

  • "Very nice place, and the food was Great! You need some better seating for couples, maybe a bit more secluded! Prices are a little high, but understandable!"

  • "I was afraid that I would be alone in not loving Stagioni, but I see a large number of negative reviews here. What's the deal, Mr Moffet? Octopus itself was great, but the chickpeas were crunchy undercooked. Duck breast was tough; confit leg "cake" bone dry & an odd treatment for confit, no sauce for either. Wife's grouper generous, but overcooked, tough & dry, also unsauced. Looked forward to avocado ice cream, but were told they "ran out" -- early on a Friday night? No, you didn't run out, a decision had been made, and why didn't the server apprise me forehand? Bruce & Larry, the whole city wants this to be great. Surely you can do it; why not so far?"

  • "went for anniversary. Too loud for our occasion - also tables too close together - not unlike Good Food or Barrington's but I like the food at his other concepts better. Service was good but very casual for a place with a high check average."
    Dined on 8/6/2014
  • "We had the Risotto, the biftec, the salads, the squash and a pizza and we just could not stop delighting on each wonderful seasoning and the freshness of the food. To finish we other this peach cake that was to die for. Thank you so much for the great experience. It was so,so good."

  • "The noise level was almost deafening; people were screaming to be heard at their own table. Service was adequate but one of my orders was never brought. After several attempts to make reservations we finally got one on a Monday night; the food was good but not memorable with pasta over cooked and some weak accompanying sauces. Even though it's nearby I'll be in no rush to go back."

  • "on our second visit the food was a delicious and innovative as the first. This is a vibrant spot. No quiet conversation possible but fun!"

  • "We have eaten at the other Moffet restaurants and were anxious to try this one. As with the other restaurants, the food and service were impeccable. I did find the menu somewhat limited but it was not a problem. What was a problem was the noise level. Perhaps it is because we are older (60+) but we find it difficult to enjoy a meal when we have to shout across the table. The noise is certainly less than Good Food on Montford Drive but it was high enough that while we would go back should friends want to go, we will probably choose not to return."

  • "Food just ok......really noisy and tables too close. Will not go back."

  • "Wonderful dining experience. Dishes were "spot on" with only weakness the cold bread rolls; would have been better with fresh hot peasant bread. Service was excellent!"

  • "The menu at Spagioni is not your typical Italian fare. There are several small plate items to choose from and most of them are not recognizable. The stuffed peppers, stuffed cabbage, and quail were excellent. The rigatoni just so-so - sauce to strong. Drinks were top notch. The noise is stifling, but a fun place. All and all - an 7 out of 10."

  • "I had high hopes from a friends review of this restaurant. I unfortunately was very disappointed. The menu was limited. I expected more "Italian" style dishes. The tomato bread was soaked with garlic so much I could not taste anything else after that. I ended up getting a bunch of side vegetables and dish of angel hair pasta. Even the pasta was a disappointment, it was dry and sticky. I really wanted to like this place, the ambiance was lovely. The wine was good, and the best part of the meal was the little bread rolls with dinner. Our waiter seemed very busy, but was attentive and took care of our disappointment by adjusting our bill which was greatly appreciated."

  • "The food here, while excellently prepared, is not as adventurous or interesting as at good food. Our waiter was pleasantly engaging and made great recommendations. Will definitely be back."

  • "I guess had a pre-formed expectation based on the feedback that I heard or maybe if was just a off night. Everythign was OK but nothing more than that. I would try it again but overall nothing special"

  • "While the food is very good, the noise level and the poor service makes this a poor dining choice. I was there to celebrate my birthday and not only did the restaurant do absolutely nothing not even a "Happy Birthday" thrown my way, but the waitress was condescending and did not attend us well. Very poor choice for a celebration."

  • "We dined with friends at Stagioni on Saturday night. The food was great, as was the service. Nice ambiance. Highly recommend!"

  • "Really impressive effort here: from the decor, to the service, to the outstanding Italian fare on the menu. Particularly loved the open kitchen in the back of house, and the intimate feel of the space, as though we were in someone's home. Service was very attentive and the meal was exceptional, from the meat and cheese plate to the gnocchi and risotto. Plenty of fresh flavors and thoughtful combinations. This easily becomes a regular for date night or to impress out of town friends and family."

  • "Restaurant is noisy. Steak and pasta were below par. Not worth the money. Unlikely to return"

  • "Was with my girlfriend at a table for two and could barely hear ourselves talk..one of the loudest annoying restaurants we have ever been in. Her quail was good my pasta dish was average at best..will not go back."

  • "My husband and I dined there on a Thursday evening and went to have salad, wine and Pizza. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The restaurant was full and very noisy. You almost had to scream at times to be heard. We sat at our table too long before any one inquired about some thing to drink. The waiters seemed preoccupied and not attentive enough. We finally received our drinks and told our waitress we had come to just have salad and try the pizza for a light meal. But for some reason, she brought our pizza first as if it were an appetizer. She admitted her mistake but did nothing to remedy it and said our salad would follow shortly. There seems to be some confusion and timing difficulty. Food, though, was great."

  • "not only was the food phenomenal, but the service was excellent as well. Great wine list, craft cocktails."

  • "We were expecting great things but was quite disappointed. soup was quite good and small pizza was fine (but certainly not stellar nor a value). They're using good ingredients but seem to be they trying to reinvent Italian without first mastering the basics - unsuccessfully so far. A pasta dish was really tasteless, which is amazing, since it was house made. I saw at another table that the same dish was almost completely uneaten at the end of a meal, as was mine. Sausage appetizer with veg was fairly bland but completely overpowered by some chili "jam". Chilies seem to be in a lot of the dishes, without much thought. Food needs a lot of work. OK room decor; only color in the rooms were the red T-shirts of the waitstaff..."

  • "I was disappointed overall. I couldn't get the time slot I really wanted and had to go earlier but yet when the time I had wanted arrived, there were many available tables. The food was ok - nothing too interesting. The appetizer was great. My main dish was basically fish on top of tomatoes and it was pricey for the portion?? Dessert was my least favorite. I know that there is a current trend towards using savory flavors/ingredients in dessert, but it was overkill - my cannoli tasted greasy and salty - not what one expects of a cannoli. Sorry, not trying to be overly negative, but I do eat out a lot and make it to all the top restaurants in Charlotte. I probably will not return unless someone insists on going."

  • "We had a great time at Stagioni. The food ranged from very good to outstanding, with the pizza as a highlight-- definitely the best pizza I've had since we moved from NYC. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was vibrant. Loved it. We'll be back!"

  • "This was my first trip to Stagioni and it did not disappoint. The dining room is quite busy all the way up until closing (at least on a Saturday night). My date and I decided to move into the bar area since it is much quieter. My personal recommendation would be to do the bar area for a date night, but any other time to enjoy the traditional open style Italian kitchen of the dinning area. I will certainly be back with friends to enjoy this. I was impressed with the food. I had the veal saltimbocca and it was excellent. The portions were great also. I cleaned my plate and didn't feel like my pants button was going to pop off. This place is a great find with an excellent atmosphere, very good food, and its in a really cool building."

  • "We dined at Stagioni on Saturday night and the restaurant was packed! With the low ceiling in the dining room the noise level was unbearable! My husband and I were yelling to each other instead of just conversing. We both said thank goodness we did not come with other couples. We would never be able to talk with one another. I don't think we will be going back again....."

  • "A good friend and I went for our first visit to Stagioni for a birthday celebration. We'd been dying to try this spot since it's opening. We were not disappointed and I cannot wait to return! Next time, definitely want to sit at the kitchen bar. Bruce Moffett has done it again!! the food: perfect the menu: fresh, interesting, something for all Italian foodies the service: nearly perfect the atmosphere: great blend of modern and vintage, love the open kitchen too"

  • "What an excellent restaurant. All the items at our table were exceptional. The wait staff was knowledgable and attentive. Other than the noise level, it is a stellar place to eat"

  • "Excellent fish, meat & pasta dishes. The risotto was excellent! Nice Italian wines, too. The noise level; however, is VERY high."

  • "Mansion looks better from the outside than inside. Noisy dining room which seems to be mostly food preparation area. Drink prices are outrageous including $16 for a Maker's Mark Manhattan and $13 for a Grey Goose Martini. Parking is difficult if you don't get one of the few spaces out front."
    Dined on 6/26/2014
  • "All of the food was fantastic. We got a few appetizers, entrees, and dessert. The only issue was the timing of the food. Our entrees came out as we were just cutting into the appetizer. We sent the food back and the server was apologetic. Need to work on the timing"

  • "We knew this restaurant had mixed reviews, but decided to give it a try. We were in and out in 50 min as the wait staff hurries your dinner along. Not acceptable on a Friday night. To say the least the food was disappointing - Olive Garden would have been much better. Gnocchi that the waiter raved about was flavorless - appetizers were marginal. This restaurant gives a vibe that you can't get reservations (just like their other 2 restaurants) which is laughable. We have mentioned to all of our friends how terrible the experience was and friends that had been completely agreed. We left there and met friends at another restaurant for dessert. This restaurant won't be open long."

  • "I've eaten at Stagioni several times. I've never been disappointed. The place looks great and pays homage to the original home owner, from what I understand. The menu changes frequently and everything we've had has been outstanding. It's a lively place and can be loud but I wouldn't expect different in a small restaurant/bar that is this popular. I guess some people have a cup that is half full sometimes..;) Also, if you don't know the difference from bacon and prosciutto and bacon, you probably should refrain from doing restaurant reviews. Favorites have been the saltimbocca, baby octopus, stuffed peppadews, and the gemelli. As a with all the Moffit restaurants, this is another great one!"
