This trip, It was recommended by a waiter from another restaurant. It has an unique & modern atmosphere. Great flavors in all dishes but none that was overpowering. Staff was very accommodating to our handicapped guest. Wait staff was both extremely attentive and pleasant. My husband said the encrusted lamb chops were the best chop he ever had - great seasoning and melted in his mouth. I thought the scallops in seasoned butter sauce were outstanding. All of us at the table were pleased with the food. I had crab crusted monchong, and it was cooked to perfection. The service was excellent. The wait staff was very attentive, without being intrusive. I enjoyed the small touches they offered as well, like a tasting to "prepare your palate" and one to "clear your palate." There was also a bite size piece of maple pound cake at the end to send us off with a taste of sweet, if we didn't have enough dessert! As far as ambience, found it to be very hip, and what looked like a very fun bar scene. Would definitely go back and would also like to try the wine bar next time. It looked fun and great wine selections.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMA great "Stage" Performance....The staff treated us very well as if they were staging a performance. With Opentable's assistance, we were happy they knew this was our first visit. Our waiter carefully introduced us to the menu and shared how to order our selections. The menu displayed a variety of options to choose from and their wine list looked well stocked. Before each meal they presented us a way to clean our palate's (avocado w/ponzu sauce and lilikoi sorbet). The presentation of our food looked fabulous and the Buttered Popcorn ice cream was a nice treat to the Decadent Chocolate Cake dessert dish.

As usual, the food was excellent and well-presented. However, while service was quite good, it seemed more casual and lackadaisical than the personable and professional dinner service. We had to wait a few minutes upon arrival for two employees behind the bar to even acknowledge us, and menus and water glasses were delayed as well. The timing was not as organized as my many prior experiences at Stage. The quality of food & service did not disappoint. Our dishes were beautifully presented & so flavorful. I was scraping my plate clean for every course! Desserts are always great at Stage, but we really enjoyed the unique milkshake & spiced doughnut offering this month. Our waiter and his asstants were fantastic and made the night a very memorable.
The only negative comment I have to make is the the dessert that we tried....the Pineapple Crisp was not delicious as I hoped and I usually am not a dessert person but have in the past enjoyed all desserts I've tried ......except for the Pineapple Crisp.

We ordered the calamari (awesome) and the poke (even more awesome) appetizers as well as the baked mussels (tasty but not my favorite). My husband loved his seared ahi tuna and my monchong fish with crab crust was very tasty. But, my best advice is to save room for dessert! They make everything, even the sorbet and ice cream, in house and it's AMAZING! The only going I wasn't crazy about was that they weren't playing any music in the restaurant and it was a bit too quiet for me. Otherwise, great restaurant!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect date nightMy husband and I loved our dinner at Stage. I hadn't been here since it first opened, but I'm glad we came back. Service was impeccable. Except for one thing: the family sitting next to us, who arrived after us, got their dinners before we did. I hope it wasn't because the dad was a local "celebrity," but our server and manager both stopped by and apologized for the delay and assured us our meals were on their way out. My husband started with the mushroom soup and I had the diver scallop sashimi. Both fantastic! I had the wasabi and furikake crusted ahi, seared to perfection, with a succotash and a buttery sauce, and hubby had the braised short rib, which he just devoured.
