I had the hamburger with the waysgu (spelling?) beef. It was very good. We had the spider shrimp as an appetizer which the waiter highly recommended. It was also good. I also had the Lavender Mojito which was ok. I rate it ok because it had LOTS of pulp and I hate pulp so it was a 1 out of 10 because I could not finish it. That would be the only thing I didn't like and everything else was perfect.

Stafford + Mathis Kitchen is a good restaurant that offers great atmosphere coupled by Excellent service! The convenience of this restaurant to events at the Staple Center and Nokia Theater is ideal, within steps of all the activities. The view is great and shows all the vibrance the city has to offer. The server was incredibly friendly and genuine with great service skills. The food, however, was just average. The Guacamame which is a variance of the traditional Guacamole Dip has an unusual and unpleasant texture. The Short Ribs and Chicken were delicious but the Salmon was overcooked, leaving it dry and difficult to eat. The Panna Cotta was too thick but the Creme Brulee was delicious. Great, convenient place to visit for a show

But the rest of the meal was great! We were pleasantly surprised by the late night menu and the late night reverse happy hour. Did not drink but the drinks seemed interesting on the menu

I made a reservation for Stafford + Mathis, but instead we were seated and served by The Nixon - the hotel bar. This was not the same menu, and the staff was ill prepared to be serving a full meal. When I called earlier to confirm the reservation, The Nixon answered the number for Stafford + Mathis and confirmed - but it was The Nixon that was holding our reservation. This restaurants should not take reservations if they are closed. I was VERY disappointed.

We arrived for our 6:30 reservation and were told it would be 15-20 minutes until a server would see us. We asked if we might have some water and cocktails while we wait, cocktails took 20 minutes and water 45. The host was kind enough to take our dinner order when bringing us cocktails, but at 7:55, dinner had still not arrived. As we were seeing an 8pm show, we canceled our order and left - as had many other patrons. This establishment seriously needs to reconsider if they want to be successful (or to at least be able to accommodate their reservations).

Like the other recent reviews here, it was one of the worst dining experiences ever. It's clear the management and staff have no idea what they are doing. Restaurants can have bad nights, but how you respond makes a big difference. I understand they were short staffed in the kitchen, but the there were plenty of servers and they would disappear and avoid interacting with any patrons rather than letting us know things were behind, refilling water, taking drink orders, etc. We had to flag someone from the bar to get drinks. Many other patrons left without their orders and we were about to do the same - 1 1/2 hours after we were seated, but the food came out just before we needed to leave for our concert. It wasn't worth the wait. Avoid.

This restaurant is badly run has no effective management and clearly is understaffed. After an hour an fifteen minutes wait appetizers arrived. Not very good. Another 45 minutes passed and we gave up to go and see a show a solid 145 minutes into our 'dinner'. The place needs management and ownership that gives a damn. Awful.

The restaurant is not open Sunday or Monday nights, even though Open Table did not disclose that and accepted and confirmed my reservation for a Sunday night. I showed up only to be told that the restaurant was closed that night. I had already parked my car with the valet and so ate at the Hotel Luxe's outside patio, but it was not the same food or ambiance that I was expecting when I made the reservation.

Went to this place before seeing Justin Timberlake at Staples. The place was a great BAR scene, but not great for a dining experience and the service was terrible. After waiting almost an hour for our food, we had to leave and the server & their management seemed inexperienced & werent helpful in trying to even figure out what to do. I wouldnt go back unless it was for cocktails only and I didnt have any plans to be somewhere afterward. (we ended up eating hotdogs at Staples)

This spot is conveniently located across the street from Staples. It is open at 5:00 so it is convenient for pre or post Music Center dining. My husband and I had a great early dinner after our matinee at the Ahmanson. I had the bone marrow appetizer, the steak cooked deliciously rare and a panna cotta for dessert. Both my and my husband's dishes were very tasty and cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed a nice Bordeaux from their wine list. Service was friendly and attentive. I would recommend this restaurant and we will be returning soon.

It was a business breakfast and the food was fine, they substituted fruit for potatoes included with my eggs which surprisingly did not include toast. Was very glad to see they offered chicken sausage as an alternative. My boss enjoyed his big bowl of oatmeal but overall the food and service were good, but not exceptional.

Was looking for a nicer restaurant close to Staples to repay a friend for her generosity. She has GREAT seats for the LA Kings. If you want to dine a level up from the majority of spots in L.A. live, this is your place. There are two sides to the menu. One is more traditional fare, and the other side is a bit more adventurous. We ordered from both and pleased with everything. If you have time, have a cocktail outside at the other bar in the hotel. It's a beautiful patio.

A group of 6 went for DineLa. The service was very slow but friendly. My appetizer was supposed to be grilled artichoke stuffed with Dungeness crab. No crab & not grilled. However my friends mussels were perfect. My salmon entree was perfectly cooked. But my friends tenderloin was over cooked. Dessert was supposed to be bourbon apple crumble. Which turned out to be to chocolate cookies with sliced apples. NEVER AGAIN!

My friends and I came to the FIgOly for Dine LA. We were looking forward to trying the steak, but the waiter pushed the pork loin chop. It was a last minutes decision that we did not regret. One of the best chops I've had. If I was not in a public area, I would have been gnawing on that bone for an every morsel of meat or fat. It was that good.

The reviews for FigOly were terrible - which would have discouraged me from going - if not for Dina LA and the description that this would be a preview of the new restaurant under the name of Stafford & Mathis. I decided to take a chance. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, with staff that tried very hard to make a good impression. The crowd was light (mostly hotel guests, I presume), probably because of the bad reviews - so it might take awhile to reverse course. The food was good, and like I mentioned already, the service was very attentive and polite. The Velvet Revolver cocktail was really good. Overall, worth-it.

They have great booths that fit parties of 6. Fun atmosphere, the waiter was pleasant but service was VERY slow. Waiter could of communicated more to ease the long gaps of food delivery. Food was very good once served and the manager was very concerned afterwards Regarding our experience there. They comped us our drinks to make up for the delayed Service which was nice. We will definitely try again.

I really hope they get their act together - this placed has so much potential. I have been over 4 times in the past month... Pre-game or Pre-concert at Staples / Nokia. Location, vibe, view and drinks are all great. Staff and food really need some attention. Since I have been so frequently - I really was hoping for a better experience, and nope. It just kept disappointing. staff doesn't know the menu or wine list. Multiple plates and glasses were dropped each time I was there and we were basically left to catch any server, host or busser that walked by to get a drink, order more food or clean plates. I really hope they get it right - the location is so great.
