St. John's Restaurant UnbelievableCompletely Satisfied with very aspect of our dining experience. Will definitely return5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistencySt. John's consistently produces great food and service. A real gem, and quite frankly better than some top rated restaurants in Nashville. Every restaurant occasionally produces a bump along the way, but St. John's always makes it right. When we visit
Chattanooga we dine here at every opportunity.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGood timeMy husband and I enjoyed our dinner. The food was well prepared and was presented in an elegant manner. The waiter
fully participated and was helpful. The special dessert, panna cota, fell below expectation. Overall had a good time
celebrating my husband's birthday.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMSt. Johns, Chattanooga, TNService was outstanding (Olivia served our table) First course, "Bacon & Eggs" excellent!. Entre's very nice. All was well. Nice experience.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMNew Jersey DinerSt. John's rivals the best in New York but stays true to its Tennessee roots. It has only improved each of the five times I've been here since 2008. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Prices are high by Chattanooga standards but would be extremely reasonable in, say, New York. The menu emphasizes locally raised produce, meats and fish treated inaginatively and artfully presented. The menu identifies the provenance of many ingredients: by county, district, farm or ranch. Service was impeccable with our waitress helpfully explaining certain dishes. The staff displayed that natural Southern friendliness and charm that characterize Chattanooga and make it such an endearing place to visit.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary dinnerDinner for anniversary, reservations were handled very well, staff was attentive but not forceful. Nice atmosphere, wonderful evening, waiter answered all questions about wine and menu.
Wine list appears to have a high markup, BUT for a special occasion it was worth it and I had read reviews online that mentioned this so I was well aware prior to visiting. Still a great restaurant for a special night out.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding dining in ChattanoogaWe've dined at St. John's several times and it has always been oustanding. This time was no different. We had cocktails to start, both of which were wonderful. We started with raviola and a salad. For mains, I had venison and my wife had halibut. That was followed by ice cream and brownie for dessert. Food was perfectly prepared, with lovely temperature, texture, and taste. All food was plated well and served at a nice pace. We paired it with a great Chateauneuf-du-pape. The waiter was attentive, but unhurried and we had time to enjoy the meal. We dine out a lot around the country and I would rate St. John's as an excellent experience and good value. Great choice for anyone in Chattanooga!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLove St. John's!We absolutely love St. John's! Have celebrated many special occasions there, and made several ordinary days special too! Food is always excellent, service is spectacular, staff is well-versed on all items on the menu. Already looking forward to our next visit!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe staff knew it was ourThe staff knew it was our wedding anniversary and they went above and beyond their job to make us feel extra special and make our night extra ordinary. We are very appreciative of the way we were treated and the food was excellent!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AM20 stars - a memorable nightA friend recommended your restaurant for my son's first prom date dinner. It was a pleasure to hear both their comments afterwards. Both were extremely satisfied with your establishment. Two of my son's quotes "The atmosphere was like out of a movie scene." and "The food was amazing." His date stated she felt like a princess. Thank you so much for making such a special night more memorable.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMSt. John's is a favorite restaurantSt. John's is a favorite restaurant and my wife and I, who live 50 miles away, go there several times a year. It never disappoints. The selection of mains is fairly small but changes fairly often so there is never a 'been there done that' feeling. The fois gras rivals that I've had in the Dordogne. Wherever possible their ingredients are local and organic. I know some of the farmers involved in their supply chain and they are very good choices. It's a bit pricey but well worth it. The chef has managed to maintain a very high level of quality over a number of years and that's something very rare in a restaurant.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant in ChattanoogaGreat find. We have many great restaurants in Cincinnati and St. John's takes a back seat to none of them. Great taste, presentation, and quality, with creativity in every plate. Would recommend it to all who are in Chattanooga. Expected to pay a fair price and was not disappointed in the quality vs. value.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMMaybe Chattanoogas best RestaurantEach meal can be prepared "Gluten free" (some items of the meal will be changed/replaced).
I have been there 2 times now (both times with friends) and we experienced a high class dinner. Although I'm a guy taking care of what I eat and not so much what it costs, I am also able to recommend this restaurant for the fair prices. I travel a lot and experienced a lot of good cuisine world wide - however the St.Johns is in my personal Top 10 (and I'm really picky).4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food-- Each dish hadGreat food-- Each dish had great presentation and all flavored were masterfully added in each entree-- exceeded all expectations4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMind blowing as usualDelicious as always and the presentation was amazing. My beet salad was a work of art and kale ricotta gnocchi, are you kidding me!? So good. Wonderful ambiance and nice anniversary dinner.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMOVERALL THE MEAL AND SERVICEOVERALL THE MEAL AND SERVICE WAS GREAT, HOWEVER THE NOISE WAS LOUD. WOULD HAVE LIKED TO OF BEEN SEATED IN A MORE QUIET AREA. THE HIGH CEILING AND FLOOR MAKE IT VERY NOISEY.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMSt.John's is a great venueSt.John's is a great venue to have a nice dinner with a friends and be able to hear your conversation and get great service at the same time.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMVery very small portions withserviThis restaurant is very expensive but divine! Our server Meagan was the most outstanding and attentive not to mention kind and fun.
Only suggestion we would make is make the portion size a little bigger. We you spend that kind of monies please make the portion a little bigger.
If you are looking for very small plates with great service St. johns is the place. Expect to pay about 100.00 per person with great service.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDevineI truly enjoyed St. John's. The "bacon and eggs" dish was wonderful and the Vontre Sante wine was delicious. We went for a special occasion and weren't disappointed. I would highly recommend St. Johns for a special night out or a great place to experience excellent fine dining.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Downtown spotExcellent service at St. Johns. The food is very good - outstanding steaks. It's a little pricey, but good for a special occasion.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AManniversary dinner, great ambienceAnniversary dinner worked out great with the ambience and pleasant service. Chef even sent something special to celebrate our anniversary. Ordered lamb leg, came with yucca, sauteed bells peppers &onion on spinach bed; my hun had pork chops...everything blended so well and portions were just right. BTW- Best experience eating yucca (normally dont) &the sauce was one of a kind. Had read good reviews online, didn't disappoint. Great server...thanks Misty.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always have such a greatWe always have such a great time at St. John's. My sister and I bring our husbands there every Valentine's Day. They look forward to it all year. The food was outstanding and our server(Ahley M. according to my receipt) was awesome so informative and so efficient. She was knowledgable about the menu and shared when asked. The food was prepared perfectly even my well done steak which some restaurants refuse to do. We were upstairs and the snow was falling it was a perfect experience and it's closeness to the Tivoli works out perfectly to follow up with Big Band Fever.2/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
