As part of The Fairmont Copley Plaza’s centennial celebration, the award-winning Oak Room restaurant closed temporarily in early January for a full renovation of the space. The full menu will continue to be served in the hotel’s St. James Room during breakfast, lunch and dinner until our new… restaurant offering is unveiled. The temporary space has lovely high ceilings, dark wood paneling, sumptuous fabrics, and mirrored walls create a warm, inviting atmosphere where guests can enjoy an intimate dinner. Continued

"The St. James room is being used to maintain a dining option during the renovation of the Oak Room. The dining area and the menu have been significantly reduced during this interim period. The quality of the service and the quality of the remaining food options continues to be very high. We will have to wait another two or three months to experience the new Oak Room and (hopefully) the restoration of their traditional incredible menu."

"The steak was amazing, but my caesar salad was bland, and my wife's crab cakes were not the best. Great wine list, but I would recommend sticking with what they are famous for, good steaks."

"We had been to the Oak Room before and knew the ambiance was right for a special occasion like our anniversary. So we booked online expecting we would be at the Oak Room. But to our surprise when we arrived the Oak Room was closed for renovations until maybe June or July. So our expectations were dashed as we were to have dinner in the less desirous St James room. But in the end, it worked out to be a fine evening, but not as all expected for our special anniversary dinner."

"Some might be inclined to forgive shortcomings as "old school", but this is more like Ken's Steakhouse than a competitor with top Boston restaurants or steakhouses. Both Bertucci's AND Papa-razzi offer a better steak salad - it wasn't just poorly executed, it was poorly conceived. Shrimp cocktail was good. Fries were unexceptional. Prices way out of line compared to value offered."

"Went for an early Christmas Brunch (read: breakfast). Great food, great service. The girlfriend ordered mimosas at 9:50, and the staff was extremely apologetic (three apologies from different staff members!) about the 10 minute wait before they could be served, even though it wasn't that big of a deal to us.
