St. FrancisSt. Francis is the BEST!St. Francis is an excellent restaurant. The food is outstanding and the service is great. I reserved for a party of 7 and we were treated well. Although the restaurant was crowed, our waitress was very attentive and she made sure that we received outstanding service. This was my first time at the restaurant, it was a recommendation from a co-worker. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to all my friends. The food is very fresh, the price is reasonable and the atmosphere is very warm and inviting. Great place for any occasion. My personal recommendation is the Salmon!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOverallThe Food was great!! It's our 2nd time and we will be back!! We were upstairs this time and found it to be a little too warm...but would not hesitate to come back and sit downstairs until nicer weather. Our waitress was just so-so.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMYou'll Go Back!We keep going back to try another menu entree. This time we went for lunch and shared the romaine salad because if you eat the regular size it really is a meal. We had the 4 meats flatbread and the meatballs. The flatbread crust was crispy and a generous portion. Theother entree was 3 meatballs in a tomato sauce with ciltrano on the top of the meat. The sauce had tiny pasta which I liked because any other size would make the entree too heavy. Of couse we ordered a loaf of bread to take home.
My only criticism is the tables are too close and the noise level is high. I could over hear the table next to me, and you just wouldn't want to discuss anything personal in this setting. To avoid them I talked louder than usually.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSt. Francis RestaurantThe staff were very friendly from the moment you enter, but our waitress was a bit "out to lunch." We had a 6 pm reservation. When she brought our menus, she pointed out the "Happy Hour" menu stating that some items were cheaper - Happy Hour ended at 6:00 pm so none of the prices were reflected on our check. Also, after taking our food order, she walked away without asking if we wanted anything to drink (there were three adults at the table and one child). My husband had to call her back to the table so that we could place our drink order. When our appetizers came, we had to flag someone to get plates. When we ordered our desert, we specifically stated we were going to share it. Again, we had to ask for extra forks! Food was great!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOther than the tables beingOther than the tables being a little too tight with one another everything else was great6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday BrunchAfter seeing this restaurant on diners drive in and dives we wanted to try. I had the olive oil skillet pancake. It was so so good. We want to go back and try the lunch the pork pig sandwich. I would definitely recommend this place. Enjoy.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWe'll be back!!My hubby, Chuck, saw the restaurant featured on Food Network and decided it would be a great birthday brunch for me. IT WAS!!
Lynne Glenn6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodPortions were a bit small but they worked. Glad we went. It is a little loud and the tables are close but we went upstairs and it worked out well.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday LunchMy husband took me here for my birthday and the food was wonderful. Very glad we had a reservation! The place was packed. Even though there were a lot of people our waiter was attentive and friendly. He was very knowledgable about the menu and was very helpful when we asked about the gluten free options. Would definetly go back.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMSt Francis is OutstandingWe saw St Francis on a Diners, Drive-in's, and Dives and wanted to try it out. We arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation and the place was packed. Even with the crowd we were seated 5 minutes before our reservation time. The service was just outstanding with a wonderful, friendly, and extremely helpful wait staff. We tried several of the items that was shown on the TV show and the food was better than expected - it was absolutely delicious! The Moroccan Meatballs were great as well as the Salmon and the Pig Dip. This place is just wonderful and we would recommend to anyone that enjoys a great meal and a good price. Do recommend a reservation because this place was packed and we were there mid-week.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMPig Dip is IncredibleWent to St. Francis for lunch with my wife. I had the Pig Dip. This sandwich is a must for all pork lovers. Excellent in every way. If we were to go back I would probably on get this sandwich. My wife had the French Onion burger. We had no idea why is was called this. There was no onions or cheese on her burger, and had bacon on it. It was a good burger, but nothing special. She would not get that again. Both drinks we had were made very well (I had the Coronado and she had a margarita), and the dessert was very good. I had the sticky toffee pudding. This was great. My wife had a carrot cheesecake in a jar. It was also very good. Minus the hiccup of the burger than was just okay we had a good lunch and would come back.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Pork Dip was the bestThe Pork Dip was the best sandwick I have ever had. The Cauliflower soup and Romaine salad were oustanding as well. We sat upstairs looking over the bar with the garage door open. It was very pleasant.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMDanielle's a keeper!Had a great dinner out on Saturday. Great Moroccan Meatballs at St Francis. The wine was great and really reasonable. All of us enjoyed out entrees, but the evening was made memorable by the service. Danielle was warm, made us feel at ease and never rushed. She "sold" the dishes we had and honestly talked us out of some. What a treat this place turned out to be. We will return often, even if it is 15 miles from home.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWOW..So we were obviously part of the FOODtv influx when we went there . Even though they were sold out of bread and other featured dishes, our food was utterly AMAZING. Returning tonight with a group of 6 ....can not wait!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food againI have been here a few times.
Great menu with various choices for everyone.
Food consistently good and excellent service.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMA Phoenix Go-To SpotI'm not often in Phoenix these days. But when I do come in from San Francisco, this is one of a few places on my list I have to go. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I'm partial to the porkchop! Good Happy Hour small bites choices and drink specials. Take the lite rail and enjoy.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMSaturday BrunchNice drink choices, heathy food options, great atmosphere. Not a place for romance, but great any other time.
Definitely want to try Happy hour and dinner.
Thanks Diners, Drive ins, and Dives, Phoenix is #1.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunchThe eggs bendedict with proscuitto is d'lish! The orange mint soda was fresh made with muddled oranges and mint, super refreshing.... I wish I had one right now.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experienceWe came to st. Francis and had a wonderful time. Aside from the great, friendly, knowledgeable staff, the food was amazing. Especially the desserts!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAddicted to the Salmon Superfood!Just love the food and the atmosphere at this trendy neighborhood restaurant. Go soon and enjoy!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThank you Guy, I thinkAs a devotee of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives, I was thrilled to see St Francis featured on a recent show. I love the place and had been there prior to the shows airing. The food is great, the flat breads amazing. The meatballs, pig dip, meatloaf, chili verde are great. I love the cauliflower soup, the in house baked baguette, baked goat cheese and most everything I've tried. It can be a bit loud and sometimes hard to carry on a conversation, but the energy in the place is electric. The wait staff attentive and accommodating and the prices very very reasonable. They do have limited parking, but do provide free valet and I've never had a problem. This place is top notch.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding RestaurantFrom their romaine salad to the main course through dessert everything is excellent. The only slight glitch we had at Lunch , last time, was a server with the wrong attitude, snooty as opposed to helpful. Management, I am sure will correct that problem.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMNice neighborhood restaurantDinner is good, brunch is as well. Drinks are priced high for what you receive, but the bar is always pretty full. I can only assume the prices don't really matter to most. Made my reservation on Open Table, made a note we wanted outdoor seating, arrived at the restaurant on time, had to wait an add'l 10 minutes for our table and did not get outdoor seating.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMCheck PleaseWe saw St. Francis featured on the local AZ channel program Check Please. We did make reservation on a Wednesday evening and it was a good idea as it was quite busy. We shared a couple of appetizers, the goat cheese and the meatballs. Both were fantastic! For the entree I chose the Pig Dip and my girlfriend had the Chile Verde. We were both impressed with the food and would recommend for someone looking for good restaurant with a different offering.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good.If you want something more than your typical hamburger & fries for lunch, give this place a try. I had an amazing pork loin sandwich (called the Pig Dip) and my wife had a chicken salad sandwich. Both were very good. Their fries I believe were a mix of potato and sweet potato and were delicious as well. I saw quite a few more items on the menu I'd like to try including a few of their flat breads. I'd definitely recommend this place to a friend and look forward to my next visit.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMA place to shareWonderful assortment of food on the menue, and the drinks (I've had some cocktails) are FABULOUS. The bartenders were very pleasent and so are the waiters and waitresses.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinitely Worth the PriceI live some far from this amazing restaurant but it was definitely worth the drive! Ive gone there 2 times so far and I'm never disappointed! Kids eat free which I thought was shocking because its a full sized meal. My brother who tends to be picky about foods and normally eats alot since he's a growing athlete, loved the kids meal and said it was too much for him to finish. The steak meal with veggies and wine sauce is probably the best food I've ever eaten! Its beyond delicious! They also have a starter salad for $3 and it has amazing dressing on it! They also sell $3 loafs of bread to take home. I have to say if I could I would eat there every day!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite in townSt. Francis is my favorite hang out but it is far from my home so I only go about once every other month. This time I had the Salmon Superfood which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. My favorite dishes are the Green Chile Pork and the Meatballs. We sat outside for the first time. The micromisters were on but they were too strong for an evening in the low 80s. We were cold and did not want to linger around very long. The service was a bit slower than usual.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyable repeatMet earlier with an alumni crowd. Our growing numbers were accommodated. The staff cooperated and helped each other on a very busy evening. All of the staff were pleasant and helped to enhance the visit. Pot roast was very tastey. Had a free dessert on an anniversary coupon given from an earlier visit. Complimentary parking was necessary. Will do it again.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMA Different Place for LunchThis is a nice change in the Central/Camelbck area for
lunch.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh delicious foodFirst time at St. Francis, fresh local food, homeade bread daily,
Truly friendly service sometimes hard to find.
I had the french onion burger, it was fantastic,
the flavor in the meat was outstanding didnt even need ketchup:)
The restaurant is clean & hip, cant wait to go again.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWish it was in ManhattanWe were visiting from NYC this week and absolutely fell in love with the energy and food in St. Francis and ended up goin back twice in two days. Staff = amazing. Food = unreal! You must try the meatballs, so amazingly good. The French Onion Burger was superb. I think they bake their own bread and pastries. (Try the cinnamon roll. OMG yummy.) I wish this place was in Chelsea, we'd be there everyday. Enjoy :)5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for lunch the serviceWent for lunch the service from Ryan was excellent! The flat bread (cheese) and cauliflower soup was excellent! The Kale Ceasar salad is delicious, light and filling the combo with the soup is an excellent choice. I will return for more tasting of the menu.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMI made the reservation toI made the reservation to have brunch with "the girls". We had a wonderful time catching up and eating good food in a relaxed environment.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good meal and serviceVery good meal and service - high;y recommend - although your specialty drinks will cost you.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMI reserved a lunch table forI reserved a lunch table for six on the patio. I brought five ladies, none of whom had dined with you. They all left wanting to return. The birthday gal was served a surprise dessert.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food and great serviceVery good food and great service but not a restaurant to spend a lot of time dining in as their seating is so uncomfortable. It felt like I was sitting on a park bench. Also their menu is a bit pricy for what you get.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMNever a disappointment--alwaysNever a disappointment--always consistent and delicious!!!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is the PlaceMy wife loved the Forbidden bowl and the items coming off of the wood fired grill are great. The flat bread was super as well. Great room which is open to the an arbor covered outdoor dining space. The dress code is casual but people in jeans and shorts looked a little under dressed. Parking is limited but they offer complimentary valet parking. I dare you to try to drink just one cucumber cooler cocktail, can't be done. If you are in town visiting family just make a reservation in advance and get your parents out of The Bonefish Grill for an evening.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA favorite!Really like this place. Food and vibe are great. However, if sitting inside, it is very loud.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSt Francis is the perect combinatioSt Francis is the perect combination of excellent service, tasty food and a lively, vibrant setting.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMReally enjoyed the ArizonaReally enjoyed the Arizona microbrew selections. Very eclectic menu & reminded me a lot of Beckett's Table--not that there's anything wrong with that.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always enjoy St. FrancisWe always enjoy St. Francis but it had been a while since we last dined there. It was a wonderful start to last weekend.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMReally nice place.St. Francis was great. We were there recently for Easter breakfast. The staff was friendly and efficient. We were traveling with a dog and they treated us and our dog like family seating us first at the far end of the patio where we could relax without bothering other diners. I don't suggest traveling with a dog, but when unavoidable, St. Francis lives up to their name. The food was delicious and served beautifully.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is consistently deliciousThe food is consistently delicious and flavorful; the only downside is that it tends to get really noisy and the background music only adds more. Lose to the mix! That said, this is a favorite!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMA new find for me. I ate dessertA new find for me. I ate dessert adn teh sticky toffee pudding w/the cram gelato was perfect! The couple next to me had the Happy Hour Salmon and Quinoa and the 1/2 Roast Chicken both dishes looked tasty and their plates were clean - I will try the salmon next time I go. A definite return trip to sample more on the menu.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe pot roast is divine everyThe pot roast is divine every time I have it which is often!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMy only complaint is thatMy only complaint is that everything came out TOO FAST. We had cocktails immediately, which was great, but then our appetizers appeared when we had still barely sat down and starting sipping. And then our entrees arrived (not exactly at the same time - it would be nicer to serve them together) immediately after that. There was no time to relax and digest and I felt that we were being rushed through the meal instead of being allowed to enjoy it at a moderately leisurely pace. There was however more of a gap between entree and dessert, thank goodness. Food was quite good, but I enjoyed it less because I didn't have time in between courses.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Spot1st time and really enjoyed food and service. I had meatballs and they were very good.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been going to the St.I've been going to the St. Francis for years and it never disappoints. Great atmosphere, great food, great service. Such a cool building in a truly great Phoenix neighborhood.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
