  • "My Husband and I did this food and wine tasting for our Honeymoon one afternoon, and I couldn't not have better things to say about it. It was so delicious!! The food was amazing and so was the wine! The service was great and the staff was super friendly. It was definitely one of the highlights from our trip. We even joined their wine club!!"

  • "The food and wine pairing was amazing. Highly recommend to anyone going to Sonoma County. Definitely worth the price and will be going back. The view is beautiful as well."

  • "We had a very enjoyable afternoon experiencing the food/wine pairing. No pressure to buy wines."

  • "I was really looking forward to going here, but was rushed the whole time. My husband and I couldn't enjoy the food and wine without the next course coming out. We felt like they just wanted to get us in and out ans quickly as possible and pressured people to buy the wine. Very disappointing."

  • "I live in the area and have three times brought deserving friends visiting from out of NorCal. Each one went home in awe of the excellent total experience. Some visitors are not "foodies" and have shown no interest in food and wine pairings so they don't get to have this wonderful experience. May St. Francis Winery manage to stay at the top of its game!"

  • "Our afternoon at St Francis was outstanding! Beautiful grounds/scenery and the food was absolutely perfect with their wonderful wines. Our hostess was very knowledgeable regarding their wines and food. A delightful day for a special occasion or just a fun day at the winery!"

  • "We did the food pairing and wine tasting at St. Francis and can see why they are so highly rated as a restaurant. We would love to return, as the food was really fantastic. The small group configuration for the tasting was quite entertaining, and we found the pairings to be really spot on with each course. Kudos to the chef and the whole team."

  • "A consistently great wine and food pairing - the we've ever attended! This was our second visit and it won't be our last."

  • "For $50 we had four "small" dishes each with a nice taste of wine. We were greeted with a generous taste of wine and finished with a dissert and another generous taste of wine. The food was outstanding and they matched the food to the wines that they wanted to emphasize. I personally have a problem with one ingredient on the menu and they accommodated me accordingly. Just let them know in advance. Four of us had our first experience and each thought it was a tremendous value. That was the main meal for the day."

  • "The chef at St. Francis beautifully pairs foods with a variety of wines to create and exceptional food/wine experience. A must-do when you are in Sonoma!"

  • "A rainy day for us and we were happy to be tucked away at the winery! Not just a "tasting," but an experience, starting from the moment one checks in and is given a glass of wine to enjoy while waiting for the seating. The wines and beautifully executed dishes of the tasting were nicely matched, with each enhancing the other. Very fresh, seasonal, local ingredients in each dish. (Smoked Sonoma duck breast with a dry Zin...wow.). The easy, small group atmosphere was relaxing, and the hostess was knowledgable and orchestrated the tasting well. Very good service all around. We left with 3 bottles of our favorite wines and the wish to return again someday! (A sunny one, please, so we can also enjoy the gorgeous view from the patio...)"

  • "Wine and food pairing rather than "a meal", but great fun, and top quality. I take my wine country guests and we always enjoy it. This is for foodies who like wine, not for chatting intimately with friends, though I have taken a non drinking foodie who also really enjoyed it."

  • "About perfect in every way. the food and wine were great. The perfect special occasion experience."

  • "Food was exceptional as well as the wine. The presentation was first class. The selections were small but well blended with each wine. The service was well paced and not hurried. There were six birthdays being celebrated which added to the experience. The chef appeared after the last service and answered all questions about the selections and preparation We will definitely do this again and will recommend it to our friends."

  • "An overall perfect experience. I've tastes at St Francis before but never did the plates and wine pairing, and it's a wonderful experieince. Excellent food, very friendly and enthusiastic service, a chat with the chef, wine education and delicious sampling....One never knows how a winery will treat you. Some are so stuffy and snobbish and treat you with such distant contempt you wonder why they don't just run a background check on people at the door rather than let in the likes of you. St Francis is warm and friendly and just totally charming. A great place for a gathering of friends or family."

  • "We participated in the wine and small plate food tasting. We thought this was one of the best wine tasting events we had experienced. The food was creative, fresh and exceptionally prepared. Combine this with a variety of notable local wines and this exceeded all expectations. The staff were genuinely gracious and knowledgable. The ambiance was niether overly casual or ostentatious, but complementary with the informality of the winery in which it is located and yet elegant enough for one of the best restaurants around. I would recommend this to all having a sincere interest in learning the nuance of how the combination of wine and food can enhance one another. Don't miss it."

  • "We took our friends from Marin here for a birthday celebration. It was special and very enjoyable. Great wine and great food pairing that gets rave reviews every time. Even though I'm a white wine person, I still enjoyed it immensely. The chef really knows how to bring out the best in the food and the wine."

  • "We had an absolutely spectacular tasting menu with wine pairing for each course. The wines were superb St. Francis wines, well matched with the food. The food was excellent and the portions were quite small, but after the entire menu we had had quite enough. On the way we called to say we would be 15 minutes late and at first they said they "could not accommodate us" and not to bother coming at all, even though we had driven 2 hours to get there, which made us quite upset. However, when we did arrive 15 minutes late they did relent and let us sit, although our group of 4 had to sit 3 people next to each other and 1 person with another group. The chef is departing in 2 months, so hurry to take advantage of this opportunity."

  • "Why did it take a far away and not so trendy Sonoma valley winery to figure out that pairing good to great wines with an outstanding tasting menu by a truly great chef at a fair price, makes all the sense in the world? What have we all been missing?"
    Dined on 2/28/2014
  • "St. Francis shows off their wines to excellent advantage by pairing them with tasty small dishes to make a sumptuous meal in their lovely dining room, with outstanding views of vineyards and mountains. An experience to savor when you have the opportunity!"

  • "We went in February at lunch time and it wasn't crowded, we loved the individual attention and the fact that the chef was willing to answer so many questions at the end. The food pairing was amazing and the pours were very generous. When we went it cost $50 per person and we weren't sure we wanted to spend that much when we were getting so many complimentary tastings, but it was SO worth it! And we were very full and maybe even a little tipsy by the end."

  • "Absolutely fabulous. Salad, 3 courses...sea bass, duck, beef, then dessert, with dual pairings for each course."

  • "This was our second time to visit St. Francis Winery for their food and wine pairing. The food served was fantastic! Needless to say the wine was fantastic as well. Executive Chef David Bush starts with the wine then decides what local meats and vegetables during the current season will pair well with the current vintages. It was a fantastic culinary experience. The shame was hearing Chef Bush was leaving to open his own restaurant. With food and wine pairings like he demonstrated, I am sure his restaurant will be a big success!"

  • "We decided to spend our 46th Wedding Anniversary at the St. Francis Winery for many reasons, one especially, he is my favorite Saint. Found the site online, and went with the reviews...all excellent! The oddness of our choice, is, we do not drink. Nonetheless.....partaking of the Wine Pairings was so wonderfully orchestrated. Our Hostess for the event was charming, and well versed in the knowledge of the wines. We met wonderful people who also made us feel special. We cannot forget this special day, it was magic! Thank you many times over to all the Staff."

  • "One of the most amazing food events I have ever experienced. A spectacular combination of masterfully prepared small plates, superbly paired wines, informative service, and an awesome locale in wine country make for a wonderful and pleasurable afternoon. A must!"

  • "Our party of six has dined in outstanding restaurants in many cities and countries. For each of us, our lunch at St. Francis Winery was the best meal any of us has had. The flavors of every dish exploded in our mouths - in a wonderful way! This was an exceptional dining experience in a warm, casual setting that shouldn't be missed."
    Dined on 2/7/2014
  • "Overall the experience was pleasant, but only pleasant. With an exception or two the wines and dishes were paired well and complimented one another. The service seemed rushed, the entire session lasted only about an hour. Some of the dishes were not served hot when they should have been. The descriptions of the food, wine and pairings could have been more authoritative. It was Super Bowl Sunday at kickoff time but if you are providing a food and wine experience of this sort, that is no excuse."

  • "One of the best pairings in Sonoma valley. Worth the expense. Menu changes every few weeks based on local produce. This was second visit and both were excellent."

  • "This was our first wine and food pairing experience at a winery. Brooke and Rene made us feel welcome and kept the atmosphere light and convivial. In total, there were 12 people at our 3 P.M. seating. We had 5 courses all of which were divine both in presentation and taste. Although I am typically not a red wine drinker, I was able to fully appreciate the pairing of the varietals with the food served. Chef David spoke with the group and answered some questions - he has a fabulously dry wit. All of the guests obviously enjoyed the experience like us. What can I say, we joined the wine club because we intend to return with anyone who comes to visit us because we know it will be a highlight of their trip."

  • "This was our first time doing a wine and food pairing and it was an amazing experience. Top notch service, excellent food and wine! There's no doubt Chef Bush knows what he's doing! We visit Sonoma several times a year and we'll definitely make St. Francis a "must visit" each time."

  • "Amazing! The food, the wine, the culinary creativity and learning, the setting, the pace, the servers, everything was really top notch. We went in with very high wine, food and experience expectations and we were still blown away... We plan to visit every quarter and we will bring our friends..."

  • "The first pairing of the Chardonnay with the roasted winter vegetables was great and you knew that the rest of the pairings were going to be a foodies delight, which they were. The view of the mountains and vineyard from the dining room was spectacular and added ambiance to this wonderful experience. My favorite dish was the Steamed Sea Bay which was lightly flavored with Fermented Black Bean sauce. I am not a fan of Port Wine but I enjoyed their Port because it was not too heavy but just sweet enough to pair with the dessert. Definitely gets an A+ ."
