Though we hadn't requested it, St. Elmo's seated us in a private dining room that was just the right size for our group. The only thing I would say needs improvement would be the attitude of the lady who called to confirm the reservation. When I was asked if it would be possible to add one more guest, I was told I would have to move my reservation from 9pm to 1030pm and that it would be impossible to add another individual. It wasn't that I couldn't add another individual, I was OK with that since it was within 24 hours of the reservation, but she just seemed irritated and didn't even ask if I had any other questions. Finally, even though I was told it would be impossible to add another person, they seated my party of 6 at a table for 10. Waiter kept trying to explain everything to us. He kept stopping by to talk and "give us more time" when we were ready to order. Our drinks were not as either on the menu or as described. We ordered the St Elmo whiskey and coke but it didn't come with the drunken cherries or a cherry flavor. The shrimp cocktail is as hot as described and delicious. Steak was tender and very good although it was not an aged filet. I dined alone and was seated in a packed house just moments after the running of the Kentucky Derby. My waiter was professional and welcoming. He helped me chose the coyboy ribeye and I had the augratin potatoes. I also had 2 glassess of pinot noir wine. The service was top notch, I only noticed one small thing, the "manager" or capain walked around the room many times and never stopped by my table.
