Diner Reviews
  • "I'm a big believer you can't have a great meal out without great service. St. Cecelia has that. And more. Enjoy!"

  • "The food was awesome and good service. I entertained some client and they enjoyed it immensely"

  • "Delicious diverse unique menu, superior service from the hostess to the bartender, to our wait person. Attention to detail decor and ambience - opening the drapes at sunset! Also impressive - the acoustics, you can hear your party without shouting. All exceeds the hype that St C is the hottest dining experience in town. Worth the price and wait for a weekend reservation, could be 1-2 months."

  • "Perhaps it was an off night as we expected much more in the way of food preparation and service."

  • "Swordfish dish was delicious. Service was great. Staff was friendly. I recommend it."

  • "The cool sophisticated ambiance of the bar, with it's ever changing specialty concoctions bursting with fresh herbs and flavor. The wine book reads like a who's who of international wineries and noticeable new contenders. We arrived at 6 for cocktails and conversation, before being seated in the midst of the tables filled with an eclectic surprise of approachable guests. Surprising options for a four course meal. The salumi and cheese plate is showcased to transport you back to Italy. The small bowls of homemade pasta stuffed with veggies and meats were divine. Octopus is their specialty, but I enjoyed the sea scallops much more. Desserts were interesting but not outstanding. The staff was friendly and provided outstanding service."

  • "Great food great service great atmosphere. Only bad thing, had a reso for 8:30 was not sat till 9:17. Thats a little to off schedule."

  • "It's just another one of the "new" restaurants in Atlanta. I have to think that the the bar is set rather low around this town compared with other cities in this country where I have eaten in sone truly memorable places. Food and drinks were too expensive to be disappointing. I won't be back."

  • "We had a large group (7 people) for my birthday dinner. The hostess was accommodating and escorted each person to the bar until our full party arrived. The bartenders were knowledgable and helpful, making solid recommendations for cocktails and wine. When we were seated, our waiter was incredibly patient. Our table is a waiter's worst nightmare: indecisive, picky, and we moved around to socialize. He rolled with it, kept his sense of humor, and never once showed any frustration (and I even cringed a few times). The food was divine! I had the octopus, squid ink pasta, and the scallops. I can honestly say BEST scallops ever. I hope my friends tipped well, b/c it was deserved!!!"

  • "creative menu that changes daily! You can tell that they use only the freshest ingredients. Servers are very knowledgeable and we loved everything they suggested."

  • "Atmosphere was great - lively and fun. Food was good but overpriced. I would go back but only if someone else planned and payed."
    Dined on 7/20/2014
  • "As noted the food, especially for the price, was good not great and mine was all served lukewarm, at best. Plus, it was so loud it was hard to hear someone sitting across the table."

  • "Food was outstanding. Portions are small, be prepared. Four of us shared the Burata and grilled octopus as appetizers. Entrees: Loup de Mer fish was awesome. Had them filet it. Amazing flavors. The short ribs/pasta,called agnolatti was the best pasta dishes. Also had the corn ravioli, not as flavorful, but still good. Scallops okay - not as good as Loup de Mer. Chicken was excellent said our friend. Each of us had 2 glasses of wine. Bill over $200."

  • "We were looking forward to our reservation. And the night exceeded our expectations the food was perfect and we ordered most everything! However, what impressed me the most was the outstanding service. From the time we entered until we left. ..what a lovely and warm group of people. When we asked for assistance with the wine, we got a flawless recommendation and it was far from the most expensive on the list. I can not convey adequately how lovely these folks were."

  • "The overall dining experience was lovely but the Lupe de Mare- Branzino was the best part- crispy outside, tender, moist and delicious inside the fish. Thoroughly pleased and enjoyable dinner. A bit expensive but worth it."

  • "The short-rib pasta was to-die-for! And the Barber of Seville cocktail was delicious!!"

  • "I met my girlfriend for lunch and she had never been to St. Cecilia. I had the octopus salad and she had shrimp/lobster salad and they both were wonderful. Our very nice server recommended a wonderful chocolate desert and a that completed our lunch."

  • "We visited for our wedding anniversary. Even on a Wed night, the restaurant was packed. We waited by the bar and the cocktails are delicious. The pasta was amazing and the seafood was fresh. Unfortunately they ran out of the dish I wanted but the replacement was good. I also really like the layout of the restaurant."

  • "Service was great and food was outstanding. We started with the octopus (awesome) then had three primi pasta dishes (to share) and finally the swordfish and artic char. The swordfish was super delicious and simple. Not too buttery, which I love for fish. The smoked eggplant pasta was my favorite. Cocktail and wine were great with the food. We will be going back!"

  • "Dramatically stunning space however the food and service does not match. Host and wait staff need additional training as they were at times clueless (better suited to a fast food restaurant). Pasta dishes were best but our fish was seriously overcooked and lacking any taste as well as little if any secondary ingredients listed as part of the dish. Very disappointed!"

  • "Really great. Beautiful dining space. Terrific service. Rec grilled octopus small plate. Cheeses wonderful. Dont miss the house bread and butter. Appreciated the no alcohol coctail list."

  • "while the food was good, a couple of missteps were not acceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. Arrived 13 min early for a reservation, and while many 4 top tables were obviously ready for seating, we were directed to the bar to have a drink, and we'd be "seated more close to our reservation time." Of course our drinks arrived right when they came to seat us. Then, my daughter (we were there for her birthday) ordered A fish dish off the menu. When the entrees came, the server announced a different fish when he gave her the entree. I asked and he said they had run out of the fish that was ordered. Never were we told about the substitution. My daughter said the substituted fish was just barely alright. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE"

  • "There are few restaurants that are on spot with service, food and atmosphere, but St. Cecilla encompasses all three. It was so good I went twice within three days of my trip to Atlanta. When in Atlanta make sure you experience St.Cecilla."

  • "Fantastic food. Creative cocktails. Be sure to try one of the pasta dishes in addition to whatever else you order. Every dish at our table was wonderful. Looking forward to getting back soon. Only one note ... Like all of Ford Fry's spots, the staff is amazing and friendly -- in this case, just one notable exception... Upon our arrival to the table proposed by the hostess, we said we would prefer a different table as the location was right near the kitchen. There were a number of tables available and the hostess chose to argue with us instead of just moving to another table. Of course, we got the table we wanted, but there shouldn't have been any debate at all. Some reminder training for the staff at the front desk would be a good idea."

  • "Service was not excellent. The server was ready to go home. I did express this to the manager that evening and he apologized and followed up with an email the next day. He asked that I come back the next time I am in the area, we shall see."

  • "Although the food and atmosphere were fine, they were not special enough to make the trip from downtown. Optimist is better."

  • "My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at St. Cecilia and had a wonderful time. John and Dillon were fun and friendly and took great care of our needs. Cuisine is creative and delicious. Although the place was packed, the ambience was peaceful and very romantic. A fantastic spot for all occasions!"

  • "Excellent food and ambiance. My husband is a foodie and he loved it. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone."

  • "Octopus was lovely though a bit overcooked. The scallops were perfect but the "agridolce" reduction was way too sweet! It overpowered the lovely scallops. Will not order that again! Our server was over-the-top patient with us."

  • "My third time at St Cecilia and it's been consistently excellent. Great evolution of the menu and always fresh. Food-smart / Cocktail-smart stuff but not snobby about it by any means. Great setting and really beautiful at dusk... Will be back"

  • "We came here for a company team dinner after hearing many good things about the restaurant. We ordered a few things from each of the sections, and we were thoroughly impressed with all of the food. Albeit pricey, the food was delectable, the service was great, and the location was unique. I will definitely be back for a special occasion."

  • "Fantastic service from the hostess stand to the waiters. Very trendy and great food. A little out of my comfort zone, but I found great options!"

  • "I had read fairly decent reviews ... But with a wide range of opinion. Pretty space ... But apretty pretentious and surprisingly average food."

  • "My boyfriend and I had enjoyed dinner there for his birthday. The restaurant let us bring in our own bottle of red which was an important first. As first time diners, the waiter gave the best recommendations for each course. Menu is great for sharing and oh so delicious! The atmosphere was inviting and casual but sleek. We loved it, and now have a new dinner spot"

  • "I was blown away by this restaurant. The food was incredible and every recommendation our wait person Josh made was a home run. Large open and airy and as it gets toward sunset they open the beautiful drapes for a great view. Next time I will reserve a booth, but a window table is the next best thing."

  • "On our second visit to St. Cecilla's we took our friends. As on our first visit, the quality and preparation of the food was excellent. However both our friends and ourselves felt the portions were meager, especially the arugula salad and the pasta dishes. The salad was especially disappointing: maybe ten small leaves of arugular and an ever so small amount of reggiano. The quantities were not sufficient for one to make a light dinner of salad and pasta. I remember the past era of nouvelle cuisine; the quantity of food served this visit was even less. The better restaurants in Atlanta manage to serve much more at equivalent prices. In summary, the issue was insufficient value."
