The Squeaky BeanOMGThis was an exceptional dining experience. Each course was beautifully plated. Foods were interesting and delicious. Some of the dishes were a little too spicy for our taste. Our party did the 4 course meal which was perfect.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFantasticWe were in Denver for the weekend, and were recommended to the Squeaky Bean from a local chef from our home town. The atmosphere is inviting and unique. You will want to set aside time to enjoy the food and atmosphere. We took our 2 kids ages 7 and 9 and they accommodated us nicely (there is no kids menu).
We chose to do the 4 course meal and it was amazing. The food and presentation was very appealing and delicious. The Uncle Buck and the Thyme cocktail are both very good.
We would highly recommend this to anyone.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative Menu, Excellent FlavorsI'll admit, the menu at first glance can be odd and include some individual items that won't go down as the most popular ever. Doesn't matter though...everything comes out perfectly and well portioned, making an excellent meal and overall experience. Flavors are well balanced and I guarantee there's something that will make you go "mmmm" out loud. Definitely one of the best in Denver, and certainly among the Top 3 or 5 most creative in town.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMArt of foodCreative food preparation, artistically presented. Portion size on some items was quite small while others were average. We ordered foie gras. Although the concept was interesting (included dippin' dots) and tasty, it was difficult to find the foie gras. Overall, however, the meal was excellent.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMYummy eats!Amazing flavors and presentation. Sensitive to food allergies too6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMmy FAVORITEthis is truly an exceptional experience...the food is SO creative. the staff is always on their best behavior and welcoming.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food & atmosphere.Amazing food & atmosphere. Don't leave without trying the cheese tray!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Food and Great ServiceThe food is delicious with unique combinations of ingredients. The chef is a genius to say the least. You won't find more unique food anyway in the Denver area.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWOWFantastic food, excellent service, hip environment...what more could you want? Everything we tasted was amazing... I'll be back - again and again!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMsqueaky specialGlad we tried this. Amazing presentation of food appearance and great flavors. Portions looked small and beautiful, and were delicious and quite satisfying. We left full and happy. Great place to dine before walking over to the Pepsi Center for the concert.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible creativity! You don't go to The Squeaky Bean just to eat ( though you do that too; the portions are generous ), but you go there to experience surprising, delightfully creative flavors. Each course brought fresh, delicious ideas. This is a rare gem of a restaurant.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMCreativeVery creative pairings and flavors - all delicious.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMdining experienceWe had an early dinner on Saturday night at the Squeaky Bean before heading out for an 8pm performance. Wish we had let them know because the 2 hours we had was not enough time for our dining experience. Enjoyed the interesting cocktails, but did not love the 4 different wines we tried. Food was very good. Best to share the 4 course dining option. Each of the 4 of us ordered it and it was way too much food. Would have been enough to order 2 w/maybe 1 extra entree. It is a nice option as there are so many interesting things to try and share.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMInspiring - creative - newInspiring - creative - new ideas! Way out of the box. High quality!!
Noise level was very high - difficult to have conversations with my group of six.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent service, fabulousExcellent service, fabulous menu, perfect for foodies and those looking for something different and unique who are willing to try food outside their comfort zone. Loved it & will go again5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMPriceyHad a great experience. Only comments is on the price of the food...2 couples with 3 drinks total was $250 with tip with 4 salads and 4 entres.
Food was great though...portions small at that.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOff the ChartIf you really want a unique culinary experience and not have to take a second mortgage...GO HERE. Great cocktails, perfect wine selection and flawless execution on every plate. Can't wait to return.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMoutstanding and amazing food, outstanding and amazing food, great drinks, great service, nice atmosphere and decor.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingThis was my choice for our anniversary - and my husband was a bit reluctant. He was bowled over as was I. The combinations in the dishes were unique and original. The food was superb. The service superior. We can't wait to return.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingThe mist creative and delicious menu ever. Great service, especially since we had lots of questions about the food. Super friendly, many great suggestions and not at all pretentious, which is incredible due to the sophistication of the food. Go with an open min pd and adventurous palate.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOregonExpensive but great food interesting flavors. Great for special occasion.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAdventurous Palettes Welcome!I really enjoyed my experience at The Squeaky Bean, but I think my experience would have been enhanced had I been a little more adventurous with my willingness to test the waters with various foods. From my perspective, if you are someone who is willing to try anything...then you should definitely go here. It's not like the menu is off-the-wall exotic, but it definitely can be appreciated by refined palettes and those who won't shy away from eel, innards, etc. Despite sticking to the more "safe" menu items, the food was very delicious and the ambiance was one of my favorite things about the restaurant. They also had some unique cocktails that were well worth sampling. Overall....a very good experience!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMA great findFood was excellent. Recommend the 4 course dinner but despite appearances, it ends up being a lot of food.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMnovel combinations of foods/flavorsService was impeccable for a table of 7 - cocktails were done well. Food with beautiful presentation but some dishes felt forced from flavor standpoint. It's fun to push the envelope with surprising combinations but food should not be confusing. Would definitely go back as the menu changes.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding Start to Brunch ServiceOn the brunchiest of dining days, Mothers Day, and in the few weeks since midday service began, The Bean nailed it. Custard soaked french toast was the apex of entrees. Textured perfectly with a griddled char and flavored with an exact amount of sweetness. The scramble on ciabatta with ricotta was very interesting and the bennies were good but needed a bit of refinement to make them fit into a their unique menu. Offered a selected list of cheeses (CO goat & FRA cow) which were creamy and fatty to combine nicely with duck mortadella and the Iowa prosciutto. The cocktails were light, spritzy and fresh, well timed for the transition into spring fare. Janna was a delightful server who spoke energetically about their new menu. Well, well done.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMCreativeWe really enjoyed our experience here and would put this up there with some of our other favorite places in Denver. The service was attentive, timely, and went beyond typical standards too as the waiter was more than happy to give us a couple tasters of the wine to help us decide what to order and he was very familiar with what the dishes were when explanations were needed. The food was creative, well prepared and delicious and they were able to accommodate my gluten free diet. Will be on my list to return to some day.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe squeaky bean gets no greaseThe food is crisp, eclectic, creative, fresh and never never greasy. The chef's quirks are entertaining, e.g., plating the food off-center in the dish, pouring sauces at the table, etc.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMUM UM GOODTHE FOOD AND THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT!! MIGHT BE MY NEW FAVORITE RESTAURANT!!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMInnovative preparationFood at SB is perhaps the most innovative in Denver which is steadily (but still under the radar) becoming a Foodie destination. Our server, Allyson, was excellent and knowledgeable about all aspects of the cuisine. My wife and I had mixed reaction to the ambiance and noise level. She felt it was typical of Colorado and especially the "energetic" location of LoDo. I felt the cuisine called for a bit more urban casual, quiet setting.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMOne word.. amazingEverything that I ate at The Squeaky Bean was excellent. The server was very knowledgeable and provided us with wonderful recommendations. I made a reservation for Sunday night and it was relatively quiet, I'm sure this is not the case on Friday and Saturday nights. I will definitely be back!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMore than I expected.......Birthday dinner celebration. great table for closeness. good view of the street and the restaurant as well. waiter very friendly and offered excellent choices both of food and wine list. champagne on the house after we ordered, for the birthday. chips and dip were amazing. amazing. beets unbelievable and i dont really care for beets. The congee was the best dish of the night, well almost. we had the lamb and the quinoa with bison steak (sharing everything) and we thought the meal just about over the top, until the dessert. strawberry shortcake was something on its own, but got quite outshown by the mudpie with the toffee noodles. Flavor combinations, presentation were both special. The service very attentive-we prob had 7 sets of silverware!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific restaurant. VeryTerrific restaurant. Very creative dishes. A can't miss.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMYum!The menu is eclectic, but don't be scared. Even strange sounding combinations are fantastic, and not just for the adventurous eater. Wonderful service, amazing cocktails (with hand-cut ice!) and great wines by the glass that are well suited to the menu and affordable at that!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMService was amazing, the foodService was amazing, the food was indescribably good. Really a special treat all around.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique, excellent food, good valueI really enjoyed the food at this restaurant. The menu is quite unique. Everything we had was well-prepared with great presentation. Let's just say we weren't talking a whole lot during our meal because we were both focused on savoring our meals. The location is a little out of the way for LoDo (at least for me), but worth the effort to get there. While the fare is a little on the pricey side I found it to be really worth it and a great value. Exceptional quality food & service for a reasonable price. We'll be back.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Squeaky Bean is a greatThe Squeaky Bean is a great place to try new dishes that you probably won't be making at home!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat location, great food,Great location, great food, with ambiance and flare. A foodies haven.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an exceptional experienceWe had an exceptional experience at the Squeaky Bean and would consider it in the highest echelon of Denver restaurants. The staff was attentive, courteous, and unusually knowledgable about the ingredients and techniques used in the dishes. The food was uniformly outstanding - robust, flavorful, and inventive (and, for that matter, the presentation was immaculate). The Squeaky Bean exudes confidence in its food and presentation and justified that confidence with impressive execution. We're cynical diners who have made the circuit in the Denver/Boulder restaurant scene - and will definitely be returning to The Squeaky Bean with high expectations.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AM54th Birthday CelebrationI held my 54th birthday celebration at "The Squeaky Bean" and we all had a truly memorable experience! It was a real pleasure. Thank you.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMSqueaky Bean's food is alwaysSqueaky Bean's food is always exceptional and so creative - creating combinations one would never think of - yet they come together perfectly4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe chefs at the Squeaky BeanThe chefs at the Squeaky Bean blew me away with an intricate braid of delicate flavors in each plate. The service was fantastic, a knowledgeable and friendly staff.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything on the menu lookedEverything on the menu looked appealing. We chose from each category plus a drink concoction with hand cut ice. Highlight was the rich flavor sensation of brussels sprouts with runny egg to mix in. Ingredients listed where a puzzle that was solved once the food was delivered, we'll be back for more surprises.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFood, drinks & service wasFood, drinks & service was phenomenal!
Garrett our server, was informative & fun as well as graceful throughout our 7-course tasting menu! Our sincere compliments to the entire culinary team...the food was absolutely delicious!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMIt is not often that my husbandIt is not often that my husband and I are impressed with dining in Denver but the Squeaky Bean knocked it out of the park when we visited on Friday night. Service was top notch. So many times when we are dining the waitstaff will clear plates before one of us is finished, not here. Food was paced just right between courses, the presentation was excellent and so tasty! This will be a restaurant that we will return to with friends and clients.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMEvery morsel was a delight,Every morsel was a delight, I have never, ever had a bad meal or experience here! Highly, highly recommend the "Bean."4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWithout a doubt, one of theWithout a doubt, one of the best meals I've had in Denver. The tater tots appetizer, the pork loin entree, and the chocolate dessert were all memorable. I forget the exact name but the thyme cocktail was refreshing and delightful. Everything is on the "pricey" side which is the only reason I can't make return visits as often as I would like. And I have to compliment the restaurant for having a hostess/greeter who was down-to-earth, thoughtful, and dressed appropriately. I think you'll know what I mean.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMVery "eclectic" menu-interestingVery "eclectic" menu-interesting and unique experience! Portions on the small side-"snack plates"-too small to share. Although we had ordered several different options for our table of 6, we really needed to order two of each to have enough for everyone to try.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed itWe went there for lunch. We were looking forward to the dinner menu and we definitely want to go back for that. Food was fresh and tasty. They do a great job with the presentation as well. Definitely a go to for an organic restaurant. Would recommend.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBrody is wonderful, we hadBrody is wonderful, we had such a great night. Squeaky Bean - you have just arrived at the top of my Denver restaurant list! Spectacular.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was absolutely amazingThe food was absolutely amazing though the portions were really small. I was out with a group of girls and we all commented that it was a good thing our husbands were not there or they would have left hungry. The atmosphere and vibe of the place were really great. The flavors of the food was outstanding. We will definitely go again.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
