We sat in the outdoor seating area of the restaurant. It was a perfect night with great food, wine and coffee. My partner and I have a ton of allergies and a gluten seneitivity between the two of us. Our fantastic waiter helped us to find our options. Guided us to very delicious selections. This was a wonderful location for a romantic date.

We are foodies come from a family of chefs and while on our honeymoon in Key West struggled to find restaurants matching our tastes. SQ1 and 915 both were recommended to us. Our dinner and service at SQ1 was excellent and one of the best we have ever experienced not only in Key West but in all of our travels. Everything from the Duck Dumplings, Carpaccio, Hanger Steak and especially the Pan-Roasted Grouper was cooked to perfection and delightful. The bar and cocktail specials were on par with this type of restaurant and the wines were better than average. Foodie couples and small groups should thoroughly enjoy SQ1. The service here was outstanding !

We visited Square One twice in October, but our server and food were especially outstanding on the first visit. I am sorry to say that I cannot remember her name (possibly Helen?) but she said that it was her first night back to serving in a number of years. She was incredibly personable and attentive, so we never had to ask for anything. My husband raved about the Kobe beef burger topped with goat cheese, and I was blown away by the grilled hanger steak plate. My steak came with these delicious little peppers that worked really well with the crispy onions and chimichurri sauce. While smaller than I expected, the Pepper Blossom cocktail ended up being the perfect size and one of the loveliest cocktails I have had the pleasure of tasting.

The old Square One restaurant was one of the best in Key West and we ate there frequently. The new SQ1 has one thing going for it--the waitress we had was excellent. Unfortunately, she was not the cook. One of our group's food was burned and still served to them. The grouper had by two people was very dry. The fourth person in the group was happy with their duck entree. The appetizers were satisfactory. We have always loved this restaurant but will unfortunately not be going back any time soon. There are too many other excellent restaurants in Key West to warrant this kind of food service.

This new little place opened recently less than a month ago and my husband and I had a wonderful dinner there. The food is very good and the menu choices are outstanding, something for everyone and the menu even has indicators for those with allergies. The decor is bright and clean with nice touches and a beautifully designed bar. The craft cocktail list is interesting and has classics with twists like habanero pepper in the rum punch (is was very nice). Service was attentive and server very helpful. We ate outside on a lovely evening, this place is located steps from Duval St but you will feel worlds away.

Our waiter seemed really casual and mellow with his style of service. No problem as long as he got the job done. Arugula salad description with mozzarella was appealing except when it was delivered they used spring mix and spinach. Bummer as it affected the flavor quite a bit. Ravioli appetizer was beautiful on presentation but had a lemon oil garnish that was quite dominant. Wife enjoyed it quite a bit, me not so much. Main course was shrimp and coconut rice with veggies in a thai curry sauce. Tasty and a good portion to share. We couldn't put a bead on what was missing overall but the server infomed us the restaurant was closing for a month for renovation. Maybe that was the missing ingredient.

Overall, this restaurant is very good. I had the seafood lasagna which was awesome. If you like seafood and you like pasta with a creamy not too heavy sauce, you will like this dish. My husband had the short ribs. It was very good, but not his favorite. I thought the sauce was very flavorful with some zing. It was relatively quiet inside even at 630 which was quite different from the night before when there seemed to be a ton of people here (we had eaten at the pizza place next door).

We have not been to Square One for a couple of years because we can't fit in all of the places we like in a week. We went back this year and remembered why it was one of our favorites. We won't wait a couple of years again to try it. Food, location, and service was excellent.

During the appetizer, we had to ask for the bread. After ordering a second drink, we had to remind the server to bring it. After the appetizer, we sat and sat and sat, wondering where the main was. The swordfish dish was interesting and tasty...except the swordfish was dry and crumbly. Our guests commented that they weren't ready for the number of patrons that night. It was a Friday night. If not Friday, when would you be ready?

Square One is on Duval Square, just off busy Duval St., but it felt miles away--outdoor seating that was peaceful and relaxing. (they also do have indoor seating). We ordered 2 different fish entrees, which were very good, but the butternut squash ravioli appetizer was awesome. Service was friendly and good.

We had a very poor experience at this restaurant which I detailed on Tripadvisor. BUT, we were extremely impressed that the restaurant contacted us following that review and was very keen to remedy the situation. Despite our poor experience, Kudos for customer service. This is a restaurant that cares about its customers and deserves to be given a try. The restaurant and location is very pleasant, away from the hustle and bustle with friendly front of house staff.

A friend suggested we try this place. We went with another couple and our only complaint is that the tables were too small for four people to dine comfortably. If you are looking for a quite romantic place away from the craziness of Duval St this is the place! It's easy to get to because it's technically on Duval, but feels it feels like its in its own little neighborhood as it is tucked away slightly off the main strip. Although the portions are small the food was amazing. We had a great experience.

My wife and I were in Key West for 3 nights. I specifically wanted to go to Square One to try the chicken or the vegetarian tandoori. I decided on the vegetarian tandoori and surprisingly, it was very filling and I did not quite finish the entree. The waitress was not pleased that I did not have a salad beforehand nor an appetizer. My wife had bowl of soup and a salad. The salad was generously sized and I had some as it was too much for my wife and her soup. Unfortunately, the meal seemed to be all about the waitress and her opinions on the mistakes we were "having with the menu." She let us know that it was not very smart to end the meal without have 1 or 2 of their desserts. Overall, the food was very good.

We had an excellent dinner at SQOne. My wife and I sat on the patio and they even offered a blanket for my notoriously cold wife's legs. By the way it was truly quite pleasant that evening. A nice touch I thought. The whole yellowtailed snapper was excellent and had a spectacular presentation and the veggie tagine was a great match. Service was very good and the wine list fairly priced. A quiet spot just off upper Duval with free parking. Go and enjoy.

John, our waiter, was very nice and did a great job. The food, on the other hand, was not good. We had carpaccio, lamb chops and the hog fish. The carpaccio lacked flavor and was cut too thick. The lamb chop lacked flavor and initially was brought out VERY rare when my husband had ordered medium rare. The hog fish also lacked flavor. We had the above dishes and 2 glasses of wine...all in all, not worth the $96. price tag.

Party of 5, the seafood -- catch of the day and a shrimp dish - was a bit overcooked marring otherwise reasonable food. Ate a 5 other places on key west and this was our family's least favorite experience of the bunch. We tend to eat dinner earlier than most on Key West and upon arriving found just 1 other outside table occupied. Being from a part of the country that was under 4+ feet of snow at the time, eating outdoors was a treat.... but at first we were told no outside tables were available even though 6 were unoccupied and I'd made reservations 4 months in advance of our vacation. They did end up allowing us to sit outside, but they could have hassled us less about it.

We had a nice outside table. Server tried hard, but he was really struggling: first course did not come and dinner arrived so quickly that we were still working on our first drink. He did give us a complimentary dessert and coffee so we could ask for no more than that. The short ribs were awesome. The angus burger was good enough, but fries were very ordinary. Asparagus side dish was well prepared. The key lime pie was excellent. Nice location and worth a dinner if you are here for 5-7 nights.
