Made reservations for 9pm. Were seated at 10pm. No "sorry", "we apologize", just made us wait. Nasty front desk staff. Very small restaurant, will not return. Food was ok, nothing spectacular or worth of a mention.

I'd only previously been to this restaurant for dinner, so I was eager to try it for lunch. They have additional menu items (sandwiches) for lunch and we found ourselves ordering entirely too much. I was not impressed by the dry chicken milanese or the one-note gnocchi, but the polenta fries and the stuffed meatball made up for those. I will certainly go again and refine what of their menu I love, and what I will skip.

A very decent by the glass wine list, small portions of delicious food, attentive service (albeit too attentive at times), I'm simply delighted to have a new option for dining out in the area. It offers weekday late-night happy hour, as well, one of the few places that is even OPEN late, let alone with specials.

This is a fun place, nice and relaxed, and the food is creative and delicious. The service needs some work. The kitchen sends out the small plates, but not all at once for the table. So we got our fish and fries pretty much together (a bit of a lag though), and then the brussel sprouts came out when we were practically finished with the meal. Waiting for a glass of wine is a long wait. Waiting for a refill is excruciating. They're busy, and the atmosphere is lively and pleasant. But they really need to get their act together a bit better.

I find it difficult to eat well and enjoy on Long Island. Sorry but for myself and my husband this is always true. Either the food is just so-so. Service stinks. Crowds are well - crowded. Just not enough of good but Spuntino's is beyond that. They are GREAT! However I don't wish this place to get really popular because I want to be able to drop in and enjoy myself. I have been there atleast 3 times and each time just keeps getting better and better. From the wonderful and knowledgeable bartender to every server and even the hostesses - all are professional and lovely to deal with. The food is the real star. Just go there. You'll fall in love too!

Good dining experience, minus the wait. We had a reservation but were not sat for 45 mins past it. They told us that they were just cleaning off the table when we showed up. The manger was apologetic and gave us a free round at the bar. Besides that everything else was great, unfortunately they were digging themselves out of a hole from the begining.

Ate there the other nite w/ a friend. Our waiter's name was Matt. He couldn't have been more accommodating. He made recommendations & couldn't have been a better waiter. Food was terrific. Lukewarm cappuccino was taken off the bill w/o even having to ask, by the manager Samantha. We had about 5 plates between us plus a pizza. Bigger eaters will need more plates. Everything was delicious. We will be back.

Ate at this restaurant finally as I've been talking about it for a while. Everything we had was delicious. We were 4 people and I think we had 10 dishes (could have been a couple more) in total including a dessert. We definitely had enough to eat. Met the owner who walked around the restaurant and introduced himself to every table, he plans on changing the menu every few months. Will definitely go back!!

We were excited to try out a new restaurant but were disappointed. The portions were tiny and the prices high. I ordered 3 plates with the knowledge it was a tapas style menu. Walked out hungry and it cost 90. per couple! I could have received a generous portion of food for that price with leftovers at another neighborhood restaurant....will not return. By the way, each person only had one alcoholic beverage.

Andrea, GM, Samantha, Op manager, Jonathan and John, servers, are outstanding. Hands on in every sense of the words. In fact, from start to finish the staff are engaged and committed to excellent customer service. The wine and food are outstanding. We have been four times and have enjoyed the tapas sized plates to include spaghetti carbonara, arancini, octopus, prosciutto and mozzarella bruschetta, caramelized onion and goat cheese bruschetta. The salumi and cheeses are to die for. Quality ingredients, expertly prepared. They also make their own mozzarella! It is simple..just go

Within several minutes of our sitting down, no fewer than 5 people came over individually to greet us and ask how we found out about the our waiter again for almost 1/2 hour, and we didn't get any food until significantly after that. Nevertheless, our wait was well rewarded. The small plates are just enough, and all of them are creative and delicious. We'll definitely go back, and we hope by then their wait staff will have their act a little better coordinated.

we came for dinner. Good place to eat while shopping. Small portions (tapas joint) so you end up ordering quite a few dishes. Almost all were good. A few came cooler than desired. Dessert and wine were great. With drinks and dessert tally was about $38 per person and we were all full. I will go back again with a new perspective and insight on the menu. BTW manager took care of us with the cooler than desired entree. No complaints.

Fabulous food. Fabulous service. We were pleasantly surprised at the high quality of ingredients and how well everything was prepared. The wine list is great as well. Would highly recommend the Lambrusco (a sparkling red wine), the porchetta, sopressata, an truffled pecorino cheese for the salumi boards, the mozzarella and speck in carozza, the watermelon bruschetta, wild boar gnocchi and the zeppoli for dessert. Can't wait to go back!

Our second experience at Spuntino's was as polished and experienced as the first several weeks back. On this occasion, we started with a charcuterie platter followed by exceptionally prepared scallops (perfect crust, moist, flavorful), hanger steak, lollipop lamb chops (three pieces, expertly prepared at medium rare), and a bacon/onion pasta course. Mid-meal, head chef Ryan visited our table to check on everything with a personal touch that was well appreciated.

First time at Spuntinos. Liked the menu of small plates. I really enjoy eating many dishes of small plates. Had cheese plate, salad plate, bruschetta, calamari, pizza. All were very good. Then we had 2 pasta dishes. Not very good. Tastes like canned sauce. Will definitely go back but will stay away from the pasta.

this was the 2nd time visiting, first experience was outstanding in all areas so I returned and this time sat and ate at bar as opposed to dining room. Saturday afternoon at 4 pm, it appears there is no staffing and the staff is required to do multiple tasks that doesn't require serving guests, food took a long time. beet and goat cheese terrina, excellent, fresh mozz, excellent, steak and shrimp were outstanding and cooked just right, but could have been served hotter, the only item were the fries that were extremely greasy. Due to the level of service and time, we left to get dessert elsewhere.......not sure if I would go out of my way to return, but I would consider a third try to see if things improved, the wine and food are very good.

A different type of restaurant - finally in Garden City! Okay so it's in a shopping center but it's really nice shopping. And this restaurant is pretty sweet. Dark but not gloomy. Lively - even with a lot of kids. Well laid out. The booths are "wine barrels" and I don't think people should have hard wood on their backs BUT having said this, you tend to forget about it after all. We only tried a few dishes but all were good. Meatballs good - supposedly stuffed but I didn't see anything. Mussels were great! Bruschetta delicious. I had the tap wine and it was great! Both my husband and I can't wait to go back.

Found this restaurant while shopping at Home Goods and was pleasantly surprised by food/ambiance/service. Wonderful tapas restaurant with notable wine list. Everything I tried was excellent perhaps with the exception of the mushroom/garlic/truffle pizza... good but no hint of truffle and barely any garlic. I would try a different pizza next time. Everything else was fresh and very good including the desserts. Note to restaurant: My father worked at LUNA restaurant in Littly Italy for over 30 years... he claims your Spaghetti Alla Carbonara was the best he ever had in his life! Quite a compliment!!! I loved it too! Look forward to returning.

Started with the St. Clement Chardonnay - full bodied, slight oak hint. Shrimp scampi bruschetta (four shrimp pieces) and Prosciutto/Mozarella bruschetta were enjoy for two as starters. Hanger steak was superb (highlight item of the evening - even placed a second order) at medium rare along with a pasta/bacon dish and well prepared sea scallops. Our first time here service was terrible. We arrived and got seated but waited to order a drink. When the server finally came by I luckily order an appetizer. Long and short, we waited so long to order a 2nd drink and more food that we left unsatisfied. Decided to try a few weeks later knowing that the restaurant was fairly new. I am so glad we did. The wine list is excellent & pages long. The beet and goat cheese tarrino is a refreshing take on a well known salad. The charred octopus is terrific, just make sure it is not over burnt. And finally the funghi pizza... So glad I gave it a 2nd, 3rd, etc chance.
