Diner Reviews
  • "Beginning with their signature Old Fashioned cocktail, the meal only got better. Appetizers, soup, and entree were all cooked to perfection. Our server explained each dish with knowledge and was attentive throughout the meal. The noise level was perfect. We could have a conversation and hear each other without having to raise our voices."

  • "It seems that things didn't changed that much at least with the menu. The update on the interior turned out quite nice and cozy. We had a party of six for brunch and 3 out of six sent their eggs back. Who wants to eat hard boiled eggs on their Benedict? Steak salad special looked good but we had to look for the steak. Service wasn't well timed and the waiter seemed annoyed. Overall it was quite mediocre."

  • "Food was very ordinary with high prices. Server was way over the top giving a 5 min intro speech."

  • "At the time we visited, the restaurant had been open less than a week. We ordered the grilled palisade peach, which was excellent, house made rosemary garlic toast - delicious, and the stuffed piquillo peppers, which had great potential, but were unfortunately, not hot enough, so the texture was off the mark. We all ordered the striped bass. The fish was cooked perfectly and the accompaniments were unusual and very good. We would definitely order it again. We had the special peach crisp with strawberry ice cream and it was terrific. All in all they've done a nice job updating the space, it's airy and comfortable, the service was very good and the food was interesting and great as well. We would definitely go back."

  • "We were anxiously awaiting a new foodie place, and based on the review in the paper, we thought we had found one. But alas, just ho-hum. Did get there in time for happy hour pricing so tried a few things. The portions were small and the mussels didn't come with any bread to soak up the delicious broth, that was an extra charge for the cheesy garlic bread. Would have been nice to have plain bread, since the broth already had garlic. Burger was fair and the chicken with the udon looked like it came straight from the banquet table for the wedding upstairs. The Garden linquini was good, but I added some protein and ordered shrimp which were just three medium sized and a bit over cooked. Just another hotel restaurant."

  • "Great job with the new Spruce Farm & Fish. Solid menu was well prepared and very fairly priced. Boulder is a very competitive restaurant scene and this one should do well. I'll be back to explore more!"

  • "We picked Q's for it's good food, efficient service and ability for our group of seven to have a conversation over a fine meal. It did not disappoint. Everyone liked the food, the atmosphere and the quiet and efficient service."

  • "We have a tradition of brunch at Qs on Christmas eve morning. It is a great time to gather, enjoy a lovely, warm meal while looking out the windows at the people walking by. Qs is also an outstanding place for a fine meal. The kitchen is consistent and flavorful and the service is what you'd want for a fine dining experience."

  • "Definitely the best lunch (and best lunch deal) in Boulder. A 3-course tasting menu for only $15 that is always excellent. I think it actually keeps getting better and better."

  • "I love this restaurant and prefer to sit on the delightful enclosed patio. Once you have dined there, I recommend strolling through the hotel to explore its history and beauty. Quite a remarkable place in all. I have eaten dinner and brunch there...both were fantastic!"

  • "I'm reviewing this a year after the fact so the details are fuzzy, but my wife and I absolutely love Q's. The food is always amazing, and ever changing. The wine and cocktails are top notch, the ambiance is right up there with the best Colorado has to offer, and almost without fail the service is also excellent. All of this does not come without a price however, so it is advisable to look for specials like restaurant week, graduation week, special price fix menus, etc. Get on thier email list."

  • "The waitress was getting annoyed that we hit it off, and weren't ordering quickly. She came back, and asked us every 5-10 minutes, instead of looking for subtle cues whether we were ready or not. The place was so dead, it was a little creepy...although it was very cold that evening (and Monday) Food was good - bartender was super friendly"

  • "During the meal, I commented that I wish I had my camera to take a photo of the magnificent food. The presentation was gorgeous and forget about how happy my tastebuds were! The texture of the sole and cheesecake were devine! Thanks for the treat."

  • "We booked a reservation through OpenTable for the FirstBite menu, for 1:30 PM. When we arrived we learned that this was only available in the evening. There should be a better process in place that only allows appropriate booking times."

  • "As usual, the Q does not fall short to amaze not only in the menu, but also service. Did the Boulder bite and their menu was exellent. Best one I've seen. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend. Love this restaurant."

  • "Great entrees. Desserts were spotty. The pear tart and bread pudding were good, but the pumpkin cheesecake wasn't."

  • "Food was excellent with a reasonably attendent waiter. Went for Boulder First Bite and were pleasantly surprised that the restaurant let diners know about the special deal. Choices were excellent and made the whole party enjoy the experience even more."

  • "Hi--A nice meal, but the service was a little less than attentive. We felt like the server had little experience and did not know how to gauge when it was appropriate to interrupt a table conversation or not. We ended up waiting long periods of time to order, to get our wine or drink orders, to hear specials etc ..... Likewise, the manager (or sommelier) stopped by our table but did not introduce himself or ask about our meal. Just made a comment about our wine selection."

  • "We love this restaurant for its quiet comfort and fine food."

  • "The service was very slow and the kitchen seemed to be asleep. We waited almost an hour for salads to be served. The food was excellent but on a Monday night, it seemed as if they didn't want to let their customers go. It took over two hours for dinner, which seems excessive to me."
    Dined on 8/2/2008
  • "The food was most excellent, matched only by the sterling service we received. It was my wife's birthday and she was amazed at the quality of the food. Our server was top notch and they even had little happy birthday sprinkles and a complementary glass of champagne for us. We will definitely be back for dinner on our next trip to Colorado."

  • "It was fabulous, best restaurant meal I have had this year. The food was incredible, very creatibve with wonderful flavors. And the service was impeccable, especially Jake our server. Well worth the drive up from Denver."

  • "Always very good to excellent, from appetizers to dessert, and not too expensive for what you get. Three courses for $35 at dinner can be a great deal, given some of the choices and the high quality of everything. The three-course tasting menu for $15 at lunch is a true bargain, and consistently interesting and excellent. The wine list is extensive, and you can order half-glasses at half-price, so a custom flight is easily available. Of four wines I tried, the Taz 2004 Pinot Noir was outstanding. So is their specialty cocktail, Q's Cooler. My only complaint would be wait-service that is not as polished or attentive to detail as the cuisine itself. Q's would be a four-star restaurant with a more seasoned wait-staff (compare Frasca)."

  • "Consistently good food and service as well as a broad menu selection. Great choices for brunch/lunch, awesome Ceasar salad (although you'll need a box)."

  • "One of the best, if not the best, restaurant in Boulder! Always has been..."

  • "My husband and I and our friends have eaten brunch at Q's several times over the past few years. We have always enjoyed the experience, but this last time there was a change. Very poor service: an overburdened, inexperienced wait person had to be reminded several times to bring the things we ordered. The appetizer did not come first, it came with the brunch entrees. For the most part the food was still very good, though there seemed to be an ingredient missing from the omelette of the day. The jam jars on every table we could see were almost empty. Ours had very little jam to begin with and when we asked for more the bus person just took another almost empty jar off a neighboring table. Q's is slipping; share this review with them."

  • "I found it a bit pricey for the type of food they serve. It also seemed that the prices on the menu didn't match with our bill. Deserts were execellent."

  • "Most of the staff is young and could be local college students. As such, service seems to have varied in the past but on 3/23/98 the service was very good and personable. Food was very good."

  • "Q's always makes great food... but honestly this 5280 wasn't that great.. so I gave 4 start for FOOD."
    Dined on 2/24/2008
  • "Everything about Qs was perfect.....-every course met our greatest expectations! Simply loved the desserts....especially the olive oil cake! We ate here during Denver Restaurant week, a time when some restaurants seem to underwhelm on their menu selections. This was definitely not the case at Qs. It was EXCELLENT!"
