Pilgrims who make the 70-mile trek from Birmingham are well rewarded. The food has always been special, but Chef McDaniel now has a highly professional and experienced wait staff that engages diners with knowledgeable commentary on the food and the wines. The chicken liver truffles, which are exactly that, are not to be missed. The veal chop was cooked to perfection. The banana toffee "pie" was a most delectable conclusion to a perfect culinary adventure. Just divin and being able to sit outside and dine on the deck overlooking the rolling hills was just spectacular! This is one of my all time favorite resturants and being able to boat over and ride a little golfcart up to the resturant just adds to the overall experience!!
Would love for you all to put a shuttle in at the Ridge Marina as those of us over on the Eastern side of the lake could take advantage of Catherine's and other activities more often!! Green tomato jam really stood out w the mini pork belly biscuits. Then moved to the main course. Had a perfectly cooked filet. The filet was served w a steak knife which wasn't needed at all as the steak was so tender you could use your fork to cut it.
