Diner Reviews
  • "I had a lovely evening at this cafe Friday night. The service was friendly and prompt without being intrusive. Had the filet and creme brûlée, both were exceptional. See you soon Spring Mill!!!"

  • "I normally get the steak sandwich, but I had to try the new burger. Opted for fries naturally. It did not disappoint. Never had a red onion marmalade before, but it worked well with the gruyere. Byo'd a couple of Smithwicks as well. Sat out on the porch for relaxing Friday lunch."

  • "Took a vendor to Spring Mill Cafe and they loved it. It was the perfect midweek location for a meeting-great service, food, and attention, and cozy seating to have conversation without needing to shout!"

  • "We dined here when it first opened and remembered it as being reliably high quality. I had forgotten that it was BYO, so it was good that I checked their web site one last time before heading out. I don't think there was a corkage charge. We were a party of five and were given what amounted to a small private dining room with a wonderful server. Without going too deeply into each dish, I would rate them all pretty much a four out of five. I sampled my, and almost everyone else's first and entree courses: escargots (out of shell), a lovely beef and goat Camembert plate, lamb chops, filet mignon, rabbit and farfalle, and fluke."

  • "We have dined here many times and the food is always excellent. The mushroom soup and escargot were incredible appetizers. Members of our party had the rabbit with an amazing mustard sauce, the scallops which were well cooked and came on a bed of the sweetest, creamiest carrot puree I have ever had and the men pratically liked their plates of filet mignon clean. Dessert left a little to be desired. I had read that their creme brulee had a weird texture from another reviewer but still couldn't resist giving it a shot since it was pistachio and I love trying different flavored creme brulee's. Unfortunately I have to agree with the other reviewer, I really didn't care for the creme brulee and will probably pass on dessert next time."

  • "I was very shocked, my dish was lacking in flavor."

  • "They rolled out a new menu the evening of our dinner. We had the vegetable tagine and the filet mignon. Really really good. What a special place for a meal! Very romantic spot, excellent service. Great food. Consistently good."

  • "party of four…all dishes very good to excellent except for the rabbit….this place in the past did rabbit perfectly….now it is some sort of shredded meat with thick pasta….no flavor to speak of ….very un french and disappointing…..and the wait staff seemed to prefer each other's company…..we were a little early….maybe they had not yet had time to talk to each other….and don't "monsieur" me if you are from Paoli…….."

  • "We had a birthday brunch that was both very tasty and the price was right. This is a lovely treasure and we love the ambience. A very special place."

  • "I happened to drive past this old looking place by accident and looked it up. Just happens to be a small but warm and inviting restaurant with attentive staff and attention to detail when it comes to the food preparation. We had the salad with the smoked trout and the filet along with the lamb. Each morsel was better than the next. Excellent byob."

  • "Such a cute little BYOB, with great French good and atmosphere. The service was excellent."

  • "Spring Mill Cafe never disappoints and is a wonderful spot for a romantic dinner. The french inspired cuisine is artfully prepared and the service is always spot on."

  • "Every time my friends and I get together we go here. It was so nice to relax with some wine and good food. The pate tasting was perfection. Next two of us got perfectly cooked scallops and I got the vegetarian dish. Instead of vegetable sides put together on a plate the chef prepared something super flavorful with Moroccan spices. We finished the meal with pistachio crime brûlée and brandy on the house."

  • "Always feel at home when I dine at Spring Mill Cafe. Attentive staff and good food. Sunday doesn't feel rushed and is a treat to linger with friends and family."
    Dined on 3/16/2014
  • "I thought they had a smallish menu. Sword fish is a bit heavy. A flakier, lighter, fish would be better. I liked the scallops and escargot appetizer. Creme brûlée was too heavy. Did not have the flan like taste. They should try to improve it."

  • "Nice byob in a country atmosphere. Cozy and rustic, my wife and I enjoyed this little gem in conshy. Food was excellent and so was the service. Efficient and friendly. Will definitely be back again."

  • "Enjoyed a very nice lunch at this country French cafe. Made special because of delicious sandwiches served on gluten-free baguettes. Different! Note: BYOB"

  • "A delightful country French restaurant with beautifully prepared food and attentive service."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "We used to like this restaurant, but the last time we ate there, the food was mediocre at best. The only good dish was my husband's swordfish. The food was fresh, but everything was either swimming in butter or just did not taste good. I hope it was just an off night for them. There were four of us and we all felt the same way."
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "A wonderful setting, good hospitality, a pleasant experience. Appetizers--we both had salads--very good; entrees unremarkable. For a BYOB check of $150, including tip, it's easy to do lots better for French food in the city or suburbs."

  • "We have been visiting Spring Mill Café every year for my husband's birthday (29 years), Delicious food & outstanding service. Extremely accommodating!"
    Dined on 3/5/2014
  • "Relaxed old world charm. Leave the modern business restaurant model that churns out the customers and retreat here for an evening of good food with your own BYOB selections. One of a kind destination."
    Dined on 3/5/2014
  • "Quiet, beautiful setting, wonderful service, terrific food . . . We very much enjoyed the food and the four of us shared so we could taste each entree -- filet, swordfish, cassoulet, duck confit all were unanimously approved! The duck confit may have been one of the richest dishes I've ever had. We'll be back."
    Dined on 3/4/2014
  • "Excellent Sunday brunch...duck confit, pate maison, eggs benedict, etc. Would come back again soon."
    Dined on 3/2/2014
  • "This is the one restaurant that never disappoints us. Everything is authentic from the decor to the waitstaff to the wonderful cuisine. There are staples that have been on the menu for decades and that, in itself, is refreshing. These are appetizers, entrees, and desserts diners want to enjoy each and every time they dine at the Spring Mill Cafe. Beautiful pates, luscious chocolate mousse, hearty pork chops. But the menu also includes seasonal, more contemporary additions, such as a deconstructed Cassoulet and creamed kale. In the winter, the cafe is cozy and welcoming, in the summer, it is airy and colorful, with terrace dining overlooking a garden that captures the palette of Provence."

  • "My wife and I have been here at least a dozen times. Food is always great and the service is superb"
    Dined on 2/22/2014
  • "Rustic decor. Originally a general store and many of the furnishings have been retained. Appetizers (carrot soup, truffled chicken liver pate, venison pate, calamari), entrees ( braised rabbit, deconstructed cassoulet, grilled pork chop), desserts (chocolate souffle, bread pudding) all very good. Merguez sausage in the cassoulet outstanding. Bread pudding prepared to order and outstanding. Caution, soup was served very hot. Friendly, skilled service. BYOB."
    Dined on 2/23/2014
  • "Food is very good. Atmosphere in the main dining room is quaint and has character, however, the small back dining room is lackluster and cold in the winter. It is also very noisy when a large party is seated next to a small party in the tiny room."
    Dined on 2/23/2014
  • "Wonderful omelettes, great house salad. Rabbit dish was also excellent. chocolate mousse was different this time, not quite as good as on previous occasions. but it was a very good brunch"

  • "Due to the crowd that always goes out on Feb 14, I picked Spring Mill to go to with my wife to celebrate Valentines Day on Feb 16th. Service was very good and food was excellent. It had been probably 15 years since I had been there and it did not disappoint us."
    Dined on 2/16/2014
  • "I have not had a bad thing to eat here, but I do have to say the grass fed filet has been my favorite thing to order. I do not get a sitter very often, but when I do, you will find me eating here! It is a BYO so that helps keep the cost down. I highly recommend you give them a try!"
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "It's pretty simple..Spring Mill Café is an excellent restaurant. Their food is amazing, the ambience is one-of-a-kind, and the service is attentive without being annoying. I couldn't recommend it highly enough to anyone that wants a great dining experience."

  • "Great food. Staff is very friendly. Always enjoy our time there and consider it a special place."

  • "My husband and I had a reservation for what we assumed would be a busy Valentine's Day lunch. However, a major snowstorm the day before caused all others who had reserved for lunch to cancel, so we had the restaurant to ourselves. We have been to this restaurant numerous times for lunch and dinner and the food and service are always excellent. It is a BYOB, which is a plus at dinner. Service was attentive but not over done as it could have been since we were the only ones there for this lunch. Could tell they were prepping for a large dinner crowd, pleasantly so in terms of aromas."

  • "This is a great spot for a romantic dinner. The service is outstanding and the food was wonderful. The ambiance is great for a date!"

  • "The food, the service and the ambience are the best in the area"
    Dined on 2/14/2014

  • "As a restaurant owner in Conshohocken, I can honestly say this one of the places I always recommend to people outside of my places. Good overall dining experience, savory and authentic food, and very charming atmosphere.. Try the rabbit!"

  • "We decided to prepare for the snow by taking a nice bottle of wine to the cafe and polishing it off along with two beautiful omelettes and some decadent mouse. Best idea ever! Food never disappoints there, atmosphere is lovely and service is attentive and knowledgeable. Best way to greet the snow!"
