Spring House Restaurant, Kitchen & BarWonderful low key date nightSpring Hiuse is a great little restaurant with big flavor, a great bar selection and extremely helpful and accommodating staff!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed our experience. We loved the atmosphere. It was quiet enough to visit successfully. We were on the sun porch where it was bright and cheerful. The service was good and helpful. The food was excellent. We will eat at Spring House often. After one visit, it is among our favorites.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDisappointing mealThe food was simply mediocre, and I would have gotten a better value at a different restaurant. This restaurant is very upscale and has a creative menu, so I expect the ingredients to be atypical. I ordered the mushroom soup and expected an interesting flavor enhancement like sherry or thyme, but it was just simple—mushroom, which was kind of boring. For my entrée I selected the softshell crab. It was cooked tempura style, which may be why the crab was kind of mushy. My best description, it was kind of wet. It came with a ginger rice pilaf, and the rice was overcooked, reminding me of something from a diner steam table. MyGuy ordered the filet. It was a beautiful piece of meat, obviously of high quality, but it didn’t have much flavor.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversaryWe went there for our anniversary and loved everything from the food to the atmosphere. They really took care of us. Everyone made it a point to stop what they were doing and wish us a "happy anniversary". Definitely, best new restaurant in winston!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was incredible date nightThis was incredible date night for us! We will definitely be back!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional Experience! My wife and I went here with another couple and ate outside. The food and service were outstanding. The flavors, presentations, and details were equal to some of the best we've hadin Charleston or Savannah. Truly one of the best in Winston-Salem!!!!
Can't wait for another chance to eat here.
One note of caution, though the inside was not at all crowded, there was one exceptionally loud party that definitely took away from the ambiance.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFine dining on Fifth StreetThe upside: good wine list, very interesting, unique, well prepared menu. Beautiful historic old home on the outskirts of downtown. Be sure to buy the bread service. Wait staff knowledgeable, slightly oddball-in-a-fun-way, attentive.
The downside: limited parking, sometimes a slow kitchen.
I paid $150 for two, with a round of drinks before dinner and one dessert, in April 2013.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the third time we'veThis was the third time we've eaten here and the first for lunch. We had a wonderful afternoon on the sunporch. Would highly recommend this restaurant - and save room for the dessert! Their butterscotch pudding and bread pudding are beyond words!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMoverall it was wonderful, overall it was wonderful, especially the moscow mule and shrimp sliders.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMSpring House continues toSpring House continues to be the most complete dining experience in the Triad, helping you enjoy quality food to the point it is entertainment. They make you wanna spend a lot of money on food because you learn, eat great food, and leave feeling like they were invested in your experience. That kind of attention to service and food quality gets forgotten in a medium sized city like Winston. Spring House is fantastic.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it!Both the food and service were great. Unique innovative menu. Everything was delish!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMVery Good food. Was disappointedVery Good food. Was disappointed in the "Shrimp Sliders". Did not expect them to be mushy fried Shrimp Cakes in the bun.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
