Sprigs Restaurant & Bar reviews from OpenTable diners
  • Excellent meal - attentive service

A unique and pleasant range of appetizers, salads, and entrees all presented with art and care- quality beyond the price and humble setting. If your hungry and in the vicinity of Acton, you must try Sprigs. The husband and wife chef/owners will welcome you to a meal prepared with great care and skill - without the pretense so often associated with food of this quality. Highly recommended. Atmosphere remininsent of a New England B&B.

Our go-to restaurant because we can count on the staff to be friendly and warm and the food to be delicious and creative. Always something new and unexpected. Last night our appetizer was a trio including the most delicious little peppers filled with goat cheese, corn fritters and Indian vegetables all prepared in a tempura style. And of course the best crab cakes north of Maryland.

  • Bad Experience

The food was average but the service was so bad that it's hard to comprehend. We were greeted very haphazardly by the owner, not really sure she heard us or even cared until she did come back to say they were getting our table ready. It took forever for the waitress to take our drink order, then for it to actually come and then the cocktail I ordered they didn't know how to make (it was on their specials menu). They brought it and it wasn't even close to what was described but I drank it to avoid the hassle. The worst part of the meal was that the decaf expresso I found out in short order that there's no way it could be decaf as I was up all night making for a super unpleasant Mother's Day. Wouldn't go back if someone paid me to.

Sprigs is an old favorite. Have been to all of its incarnations, from the time it was Chez Claude, through Maison Maison, to 5 Strawberry, and now Sprigs. I think I can say hands down that Sprigs has take the restaurant to an entirely new level. The decor has been refreshed--although it has been done with subtlety and in keeping with it's charming farmhouse appeal, and the food is the best it's ever been. By far. In fact, I would say that the food at Sprigs can now compete with more than a few of Boston's best. Highly recommended.

The food was devine. It has been a very long time, since I've love every course. My husband & I had their clam chowder, squash ravioli, panko crusted cranberry goat cheese salad w/pecans, chicken under a brick and the apricot bread pudding. The meal starts off with complimentary bread that is warm and crusty on the outside/soft on the inside - served w/olive tapenade. The bread is amazing. They also serve an Intermezzo of sorbet prior to your entree.

Wonderful gourmet dining. Our table had the rabbit loin, short ribs with wild mushroom ravioli and tournedos of beef. All three were delicious. One fabulous dessert is enough for the table. Restaurant was very accommodating to our last minute change in the number of diners. Both the lovely garden room and antique parlor make wonderful dining venues. It will be hard to choose between them in the future.

This was our second dinner here and while I liked our first, my husband was only so-so. This time we both agreed it was fabulous! We arrived early and each had a very good Manhattan at the bar. After a while, the hostess came over to us and told us that our table was ready, but she could see we were enjoying ourselves and there was no rush, out table would wait for us to finish our drinks, which we very much appreciated. Once we were seated, the service was excellent, our dinners were delicious and the wine was superb. There was nothing not to like!

Our party was seated in the middle of the room, which may have contributed to the moderate noise level; however the age of our ears may have contributed to this as well. The food was very good, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. We shared the chocolate molten cake - the perfect finish!

This is a place where you enjoy a meal that is both creative and delicious. Our waitress was name Jodi and she was exceptional, service and personality. We sat by the window in a nice table for two for a meal that was served a perfect pace. The tasty beet soup was a warm start on a cold winter evening, the rabbit (my wife's meal) was superb, and the short ribs and ravioli (my meal) were just right. The dessert was wonderful, peach ice cream with a bread pudding. We also enjoyed some very tasty glasses of a Pinot Noir. It is so nice having a place like this within 3 miles of our house. Also, as we left I noticed the bar was full of diners as well. Many times, we come here and eat at the bar and that's always a pleasant and fun experience.

Great food and restaurant accommodated my food allergies. Tasty cocktails, The Wild mushroom ravioli and braised short rib with creamed spinach and a truffled demi-glace was perfectly cooked and delicious. Apricot-white chocolate bread pudding, with Sauternes poached apricots and peach swirl ice cream because they ran out of the chocolate desserts they offered us Grand Mrnier ice cream with the Apricot-white chocolate bread pudding, kicking the dessert up a notch.

We enjoyed the food very much, but were disappointed in our table location and slow service. While we were seated we realized that the heating duct over the table was not working properly and asked the waitress to try to solve the problem. The manager came over and appologized, there was a problem and they were going to get it repaired.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 11/3/2012
The food at Sprigs is always outstanding; great specials and favorite regulars on the menu. My only complaint is that the service is somewhat lagging and the wait staff seems distracted. We had to wait a long time for our waiter to come around to get our wine order, meal order, and to check. One person in our party asked for a refill of her water and the waiter did not bring it; she asked again when he came back to refill our wine glasses. We also did not get any bread (a great part of dining at Sprigs) until I gave the owner a "look," and she brought it over. She was aware of the situation, and tried to fill in, but it didn't help much. I have noticed this pattern the last few times I've dined at Sprigs and I hope they can remedy this.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2010
    Dined on 10/19/2012
My fourth visit to this restaurant with friends. This is the second time the service was below par. First time we waited 1.5 hours from when we arrived until we were served. This time we waited twenty minutes before our waiter/waitress said hello and had someone bring water. One member of our group ordered a salad and the waiter/waitress forgot it. This same member asked for a steak knife to cut her beef and it was never brought. Two members said their food was only tepid, not hot. Finally a steak knife was brought to cut a piece of cheesecake for us to share. At least the cheesecake was complimentary due to the forgotten salad. I really like this place but my last two experiences have been less than great.
