FANTASTIC PLACE! If you are in the area, go to this restaurant. It is WAY out of the city of Scottsdale, but worth the drive. It is in a great, new, upscale shopping area.

We enjoyed our lunch at The Spotted Donkey. It was our 2nd trip there. The food was very good. The drinks were okay, seemed to focus on using a lot of lime. We will go back, we enjoy the atmosphere and we love the food.

Nice, more casual alternative to dining at the Boulders resort next door. Only negative was the guacamole was so spicy-hot that only one person at our table could eat it. We asked about getting a milder batch but the server said they only make one batch a day, so we didn't have a choice. Too bad, because we had to scrape it off every dish.

We had a delightful dinner. The server was attentive and helpful, as we sat on the outside patio and enjoyed the evening. The food was very good - starting with an unusual and tasty calamari dish. Portions were substantial and the flavors were very authentic. Excellent dinner.

3 of us went for a late lunch. 2 of us had excellent food. One of us ordered fajitas. the peppers and onions were hard and almost raw, not cooked enough and they were not sizzling as fajitas should be. We took the peppers and onions home to recook and eat for the next day's lunch.

Nice place, good food, a nice casual local restaurant. One negative: As I have noticed with several other Arizona restaurants, the pace of the meal is a little too quick. Main courses were brought out before the appetizer is finished and we were asked about dessert the minute the entree's were removed. It should be noted that the restaurant was not crowded so there was no need to "turn over" the table. Set a little slower pace for appetizer, dinner & dessert to enhance the experience.

This restaurant has a great atmosphere, my husband and I have been here before so we took our friends there this time and they loved the place too. This restaurant has the feel of a Spanish Hacienda/Mexican restaurant it is a fun place. However they charge $7.00 for chips and salsa - which is kinda strange in this type of restaurant. The chips and salsa are a little bit more elaborate than normal but, we would rather have the old stand by and spend more of our money on the dinner or cocktails. But, this did not hinder us from enjoying ourselves. It is very obvious that the Chef puts an extra effort into each dish and we enjoyed ourselves.

We like this restaurant and took out of town guests this time. They really enjoyed it too. The Cinco Cheese appetizer is our favorite. Next time we plan to make a meal of appetizers as we find the rest of the menu not all that interesting except for the fish and shrimp tostados. That is really yummy.

The food was excellent and the ambience is great. The service left a little to be desired. There was two of us dining, and the first table we were seated at was elbow to elbow with the tables on both sides of us. We moved to another table and that was great. The service was just OK, it seemed like the waitress didn't have a handle on her section. We felt like we had to ask for everything instead of someone asking us if they could get anything else for us. Our second Margaritas took 15 minutes to receive and by the time we received them we we're not only finished with our food but also our glass of water. This is a restaraunt I recommend to a lot of people and after this last trip, I'm not as apt to recommend.

Beautiful place in the middle of a desert, the last thing on the street, but in a very upscale minimall......even my grandson loved the mexican food here, the chopped salad is prepared for you at the table, what a great time we had....rustic furniture and decor, some very old, large chandeliers, great choice for my family and they let us walk around and take pictures, I even bought a tshirt to remember this place it was a ten out of ten for us....enjoy!! And don't leave without looking through the mall, alot of artist and there works, and even an ice cream store, enjoy!
