I came here with my sister for her birthday lunch and it was terrific! Great service and amazing food - the burrata app is sooooo good! I had the gnocchi and it's a delicious option as well. Dessert was perfect and they even put a candle. Best of all I left my wallet but since I had made the opentable reservation they were able to call me and let me know!

The set up is cool and the service was great. Food was not bad, but also not anything special; a boring cheese plate with plain nuts (could've spiced the nuts or something). Gnocchi was pretty good, nothing crazy, pretty standard. The pork dish sounded awesome in its description, but didn't live up to it. I think this place has great potential, their menu sounds real good in theory, but then the dishes don't pack any punch. I would rather try something that I didn't like but was at least interesting tasting, versus this experience where the food was kind of blah. Keep working the menu and it could be great.

Went to Spotello because it was on Boston Eater list list of essential restaurants and was very underwhelmed. Maybe it was an off night for the "A team" in the kitchen, but my arugula salad had so much dressing on it I could barely eat it, and my bolognese was bland. Needless to say, I'm not chomping at the bit to go back.

This is a great restaurant if you are looking for delicious pasta dishes in a more casual "diner type" set-up restaurant. We were a group of three, so they sat us at a corner of bar so we could all talk. We enjoyed the food, and the service was very good. Just be aware that you are unlikely to be seated at a table unless you are a group of 5+.

The portions were embarrassingly small. I travel to Puglia, Italy every summer and considering this dish is indigenous to that part of Italy I know a thing or two about how it is served. Sportello literally put a few spoonfuls of the creamy whey on a plate. Shameful for $16. The tagliatelle were cooked perfectly but far too much bolognese ragu for the amount of pasta. The carpaccio was sliced so thin We could barely lift it from the serving dish on to our plates without it breaking apart. Not as authentic as I thought it would be.

The food and service were excellent - no complaints there. The counter seating is unique, although the chairs were very uncomfortable. The food came out very quick, so maybe the goal is to keep patrons from lingering too long? In the end, we went downstairs to Drink for after dinner cocktails, so I'd call that a win-win for both us and the restaurant.

The food here is fantastic, why we waited to go for so long I'll never know. Ethan was our server and he was superb. Every bite of every dish was delicious. We had cheeses, polenta, salad, gnocchi, fish, pork, and the sublime coconut cake. Can't wait to go back. Kudos the Barbara Lynch team, this was really a wonderful experience from start to finish and affordable, too.

This is a very casual restaurant setting, but they serve delicious food. My wife had the home made gnocchi and I had the pork loin. Both are highly recommended. The best of all may be their signature coconut cake, which is the best coconut cake anywhere.

I ordered the Strozzapreti and my boyfriend ordered the Tagliatelle, and we shared the burrata for an appetizer. The braised rabbit on the Strozzapreti was extremely tender and tasty, and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The tagliatelle was also delicious; the bolognese was the favorite of the night with a great balance of flavors. The burrata was light and refreshing. Neither of us loved our cocktails, but they weren't bad.

Hostess told us she would line up a bar spot at Drink after dinner. She forgot so we had to wait 15 min at the restaurant after dinner and then only to get bad standing only spots that they obviously improvised to get us in. What's the point? Had I known I would have just gone to lucky's.

The food was excellent. There were not enough servers staffed, which meant that it took a long time to order (and to add on to the order, to get more drinks, etc). We also were troubled throughout the meal by numerous and pesky fruit flies. I've been to this restaurant quite a bit and have never had either issue, so I am hoping it was a one-time disappointment.

Pasta and salmon were delicious. By 8pm 3 of choice snacks on menu were already gone, darn. Desserts could be better, panna cotta bland and the coconut cake served cold instead of room temp. Our server was not particularly friendly but the busboy and sommelier were lovely.

Wow, Sportello never disappoints. This time we went for 3 courses, and everything was great! Yummy take on Caprese - it had a little kick, which I loved. The tomatoes and mozzarella were high quality. For the main dish, the tagliatelle bolognese was out of this world good. Two days later, I was still thinking of it.The gnocchi was fabulous but rich - we didn't finish a half portion between the two of us because of the truffle oil, but that didn't mean we didn't like it! My boyfriend had the farfale with lobster and liked it! It was a different take on a lobster pasta than the normal creamy sauce ones. Their tiramisu was awesome! I didn't love the drizzle, but I never do, so I just should have stopped them. I want to go back now!!

They just do excellent, high quality food. I NEVER order gnocchi in Italian restaurants here in the states, because they tend to be either gummy or like little rocks that sit in your stomach for hours, but when our server said they had been on the menu from the beginning, I gave them a try, and was NOT disappointed - light, fluffy potato pillows, as they should be! (Only place I'd ever had better gnocchi was Turin!!) Bolognese was delicious, polenta, delicious. It's Italian food that is based on the correct principles, high quality ingredients prepared simply and carefully to evoke maximum flavor without a lot of added STUFF. And our lovely server put up with my crazy parents and their bizarre ordering. Kudos to her! will be back!

Only the artichoke starter was a misstep...everything else about the meal was exceptional! Our extraordinary waiter impressed with his knowledge of the wine list and the red we settled on was served at the perfect temperature (both bottles!). The use of seasonal vegetables sets this restaurant apart from many others. Spicy tomato soup, heirloom tomatoes with mozzarella and all the accompaniments that made the fresh pastas delectably mouth-watering. Loved the sea bass with peas and pancetta (great recommendation!) and the desserts did not disappoint. Pricey meal, but worth every penny...a fine dining experience in a trendy setting.

We stopped by for a late dinner after a concert at the ICA, and had salads and polenta with lamb ragu - both fabulous. Sitting at the counter makes it easy to talk despite the energetic noise level - I like the lack of fussiness, and the setup also means good contact with the serving staff. i might have upped the ante on seasoning the ragu in my own kitchen, but my companion thought it was perfect; I appreciated the good judgment on portion size, right on target to be satisfying but not so much you wish you hadn't finished it. Really nice experience.

This came recommended by a Boston restaurant owner. We were in town and trying to find local gems. This hit the mark! Pasta is pretty high priced but so worth it. Fresh made pasta and sauces! We had the tagliatelle with bolognese and it was the best I've ever had. The pork belly crostinis were wonderful too! Great, laid back service and loved the bar seating. To start with, the food was excellent. We started out with the Pork Belly Crostini and Buratta with Strawberries. Both delicious, although my recommendation is to order snacks instead of the appetizers/first course options since you get more bang for your buck. The buratta was delicious but could have used more crostini (and cheese-- yum!). For entrees we both got pasta and this was a pretty great deal! Our server was great about making recommendations. The ding on service is because the server spoke so quietly and the restaurant is quite loud, plus we weren't sure if the recommendations were heartfelt or what he's supposed to tell you. It just seemed a little odd. The ambiance is a little strange with the counter service.
