Feel like you are entering a traditional Georgia Plantation as you belly up to the bar and enjoy our amazing craft beer selection on draft and in bottles. We also have over 40 Whiskeys and Bourbons on our shelves served in a VERY unique way and lets not forget the amazing Southern cuisine, y'all.

  • Mmmm...pork belly
    OpenTable Diner Since 2013

Took my girlfriend here for our anniversary. The pork belly appetizer was AMAZING. It comes with a deep fried egg which I'd never had before. They have a robust selection of beers and mixed drinks. The decor is stylized following the "southern gastropub" theme. It wasn't crowded and thus fairly quiet when I went. Very low key, which was nice because we were able to enjoy our meal. Parking was scarce and might pose a problem on a busy night.

It advertises as Southern Gastropub and that feels like a little bit of a stretch. The menu is very sparse. The southern food we tried was okay but not outstanding southern fare. 3 of us are from the south so we know authentic southern food. It wasn't bad food just not particularly inspired. The choices were slim. The Red Snapper was good but the portion was very small for $17.00. The kitchen was really slow and the place was pretty empty for prime time on a Saturday night. It might be better for lunch. If you really miss Southern cooking in LA, go, but keep your expectations low. We're still looking for a great Southern restaurant in LA.

Second visit to Spoonful, just as fun and tasty as the first time! Consistency! Great crab cakes, loved the fried chicken. Took friends to introduce them, and they LOVED it too. I'm sure we'll be back soon and our friends said, "let's go again SOON,"

  • The food was OK, It is supposed

The food was OK, It is supposed to be Southern Food, but the fried chicken they only serve dark meat, not the breast or wing. I might try it again, but did not really love the place. Service was slow which was fine, they dont rush you, but the food was not that hot when served. The soup of the night was corn and that was Delicious.

I went opening night. Service was a little slow, food was a little slow to get out... All to be expected. But when the food did come out it was delicious. The only problem was the dessert, it was overcooked and dry. They said the chef wasn't in they couldn't fix it. Kind of weird that the head shed isn't there opening night...

  • First time to this new place

First time to this new place and I was really impressed. The food tasted just like my mama's cooking. The southern style ambience and decor really made me feel like home. The food was delicious and so were the drinks. They had a massive selection of bourbons and whiskeys and a great old school and speciality drink selection. Overall great experience, I highly recommend!

  • Henry's Hat is a great and

Henry's Hat is a great and fun place to eat and hang out. I would recommend it for all occasions. I have been many times for dinner, parties and brunch. I love playing games while I eat with friends or just people-watching. On this particular occasion, we took my boyfriend's out-of-town mother, brother and girlfriend for a fun night out and no one was disappointed. The waiter was cute, fun and friendly and very attentive to us. They even took both of our "secret coupons" that we had received from dining at their sister restaurant, Luna Park, a couple weeks earlier. Henry's Hat is a regular visit for us.

SHOUT OUT! to Henry's Hat for keeping this Groupon LA-holic satisfied: I ordered my Mission & 24th burger well done and instead it was served medium rare. The manager took BOTH burgers off or bill and gave me a free garden salad.

  • Great find in the valley
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008VIP

Great causal spot in Universal City for any meal. While some of the menu is shared with Luna Park, there are some differences that might make this a joint preferred with the inner sports fan in you. Speaking of which, lots of TVs and great bar so you can enjoy your favorite sporting event. There is a smaller separate dinning room better suited for those looking for a quieter talk-friendly spot. Outdoor area does allow dogs and smoking, but it is right on Cahuenga. This is one of my favorite spots to meet people at who live and/or work in the valley. Every meal here is great. Save room for the nutella bread pudding.

Bloody Mary was just good, though could be better...something was slightly off. Too peppery? or the tomato mix was not of best quality? Needs more a bit more vodka and a better quality olive as well.
