Nice views, but the food was disappointing for the price. The service was poor, the waiter failed to bring us a wine list (we had to ask a secondary server for this and still it took way to much time. Our order was taken incorrectly which further delayed the service. The table was uneven and despite asking twice for help leveling it no help came. The muscle appetizer was terrible (half the muscles were empty shells). The main course was OK but nothing to brag about. All in all very disappointing for the price point.

I recently had a business dinner at Splashes for an important customer from out of town. Beautiful evening and all commented on how much they enjoyed the restaurant. One of the few places to have dinner right on the ocean, great views and relatively quiet if you exclude the noise from the roaring surf....food and service were good, the venue exceptional. Not the first time I've been here and never afraid to return.

Honestly, a lot of the restaurants on the coast with stunning views do not have great food, but Splashes consistently has excellent food AND the best up-close ocean views anywhere.....and that it is located in gorgeous Laguna Beach makes it all the better. I love this place! The crab eggs benedict for brunch were amazing....real, beautiful crab on top, and not a crab cake...just luscious crab with a superb sauce. Awesome. And the service was excellent (and so was the cinnamon roll!). They knew of our celebration from my Open Table comments and were very accommodating and personable.....and they let us stay and talk and not feel rushed. What a great day!

We were in the mood for steak which was not on the menu. We asked the server if he could ask the cook if they had steak. They did and made a special dinner for us. They made a cheese platter because I am a cheese lover and matched the wine to the cheese they served to us. All the food and wine was excellent. The waiter tended to every need we had. I would definitely recommend Splashes for the service, the ocean views, and the great food.

We went here for my birthday dinner. The view can't be beat, and I highly recommend this place for a special occasion dinner. The menu prices can be deceiving. "Market Price" for the paella is $58 . More than we expected for an over-cooked filet and shrimp, with some delicious saffron rice. The view can't be beat though. We had a great time, and the food was good.

The location of Splashes, at the Surf and Sand in Laguna, is terrific. We ate lunch one floor above the beach in a room with open floor to ceiling windows (clear glass railings half way up). The breeze, the crash of the surf and the amazing view of the ocean were marvelous. If it had been 5 degrees warmer, it would have felt just like Hawaii. The food selections on the menu were okay but a little pricey. The food itself was fine. And the service was fine.

If you love the ocean, you'll love Splashes & if you get seated (as we did) on the lower level, you'll literally feel the 'splash' of the ocean....In a refreshing way. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The tableside lobster bisque was amazing and the asparagus salad was refreshing. The table was split on the swordfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that it was just a bit too fishy. My wise friend we were celebrating said, "If you can see the ocean it's always best to order the fish." While there were other non-seafood choices, we pleasantly stuck with the seafood theme. Service was well-timed and friendly. Mahalo nui loa to Lani & the Splashes Staff for making this a memorable & wonderful evening.

We've been dining at Spashes on and off for many years. Visited this week for dinner on a Wednesday night. Made reservation a week in advance. Arrived and the hostess somewhat rudely said our table wasn't ready and we were free to wait or eat in the bar. We chose to get a drink and wait which turned out to be 25 minutes. Finally our table was ready on the upper floor in front of the glass. Waiter took another fifteen minutes to come by for our order. We started with the ahi appetizer and another drink. Took another 25 minutes with the appetizer and forgot the drinks. Ahi was gross. Water glass had crack in it. I ordered the short ribs for $42 and wife had a compressed something or rather. Both were bland. I can't recommend.

I have dined at Splashes at least 20 times. I take clients, friends and family and had large parties on the side patio over the last 10-12 years. I think that the food selection has become a bit edgy and not always very good. My Client and I both decided to try their hamburger. This is not something I would normally order, but it's the only thing that sounded good. It was not hot when we received it and not all that interesting either. The best part was the French fries. 2 hamburgers and 2 ice teas was $58. I guess we are paying for the location. On a couple of other visits my friends and I who love Brussel sprouts ordered a side of them. They were bitter, dry and burned tasting. Very disappointing.

Took family from out of town for Sunday Brunch. Service was friendly but s l o w! Food was not good. Ordered breakfast quesadilla, was supposed to have bacon in it, didn't. Another in our party ordered the seafood salad. High priced and the portion was tiny. Overall not a good experience. Will not go back. The location is beautiful. The kitchen needs to improve. None of us enjoyed our meals.

I brought down a cake earlier that afternoon for my mom's birthday dinner later that evening as a surprise. The staff was exceptional in accomodating that request of holding it and coordinated bringing it the table without much work on my part! They also went above and beyond with the presentation of serving the cake. The waitstaff and overall staff were very friendly and accomodating. True five star service and attention to detail!

We come to Splashes at least once a year, and we love it every time. It's a splurge for us, so if we could afford to go more frequently, we would! This evening was another great meal, with a fantastic view on the patio. We saw dolphin playing in the waves, as we waited for our food; this is always a reminder for me to relax and slow down. Well, here at Splashes, it's so easy to relax. I had the scallops and risotto, and my husband had the salmon. We also shared the brussel sprouts (SO good---really!). I just love the sound of sand on the floors to the elevator, and that nearly every table is cozy and can offer a spectacular view of the sunset. (Go for the sunset, for sure!) As always, Splashes did not disappoint us.

My wife and I celebrated our 4th anniversary here watching the sunset over dinner. This place is very romantic. Hard to describe how beautiful it is to be seated outside, next to the beach, hearing and seeing the waves crash next to you, while you watch the sunset and eat great food. I would highly recommend this for a special occasion dinner. We were visiting from out of town (first time in Orange County) and this was a very special part of our experience.

The company was fantastic, the view is beautiful & the wine was superb. Per server suggestion we ordered tuna tartar, lobster bisque & crab cakes. I love steak tartar & feel tuna is bland but this tuna tartar was really good. The rest was just ok. For our entrees: Short ribs were so dry, they tasted like last weeks leftovers & the salmon was inedible. I asked for it med rare & I was told that is how Chef prepares it. It was over cooked, dry, gritty & swimming in this super liquidy, vinegar-type marinade. It was just wrong. On a positive note; the scallops were cooked perfectly. My family & I were very disappointed w the whole experience. We would have rather had cocktails at the bar, enjoy the view & go eat some fish tacos at Taco Loco.
