  • "My wife and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary there! The view was amazing! Very romantic! so happen, the music playing that night was also one of our favorites. The service was good. The food selection and taste was not as exquisite though! Oh well, they say: "you can't have everything!" How true!!!"

  • "Placed a reservation about a week in advance. (Recommend) was seated on time. The restaurant spins slowly during your meal so that you see all of Houston. My grandmother is in a wheelchair but we were able to be seated with a great view. She ordered the steak and I got the Paella both were delicious. We each had the key lime cheesecake and the was delicious too. Thank you for a special evening. We both had a great time."

  • "This was our first (and probably last) visit to the Spindletop. We chose this Houston landmark restaurant as it was our 24th wedding anniversary & we wanted something romantic and different. The prices were expected as they're online however, some of the website entrees were no longer offered. The food was good (TX Striped Bass & Scallops) although the soup was bland & our server seemed a little out of place for this type of restaurant. He didn't know much about the wines & we were not familiar with most of the brands. I wish we just ordered a glass instead of the bottle, pricey lesson learned. Our server was overly attentive & interrupted us too often which was annoying. Overall, a good one-time visit for the view & novelty."

  • "Took my girlfriend to have dinner here as prelude to a performance at Hobby Center later the same evening. The restaurant was as much a highlight as the show. Our dinner (sockeye salmon, paella, martini and mojito) was excellent, the wait staff was prompt and efficient, and the revolving view of they city skyline provided a unique ambiance. Will definitely revisit."

  • "All in all, it was good. We were a bit disappointed with main course, as stripe bass was dried out and rack lamb and filet were well done instead of midium rare ordered. But Molasses and signature desserts saved the situation and made a good impression. We liked the idea to serve fresh bread with sauteed vegetables."

  • "I made a reservation at Spindletop because it was convenient and we hoped to see the City of Houston fireworks. The food was excellent, far better than I expected, and the service was top-notch."

  • "Celebrating girlfriends birthday. I did not mention that at dinner, so don't know if restaurant honors that. Valet parking was easy, just pull in the entrance off Polk,, told the valet we are going to Spindletop. Said we did not need a ticket,, he would park my car right there on the drive. Took a while to get the elevator to the restaurant. Very slow. Greeted by hostess and were seated in less than 2 minutes. Very nice view... pleasant atmosphere. Very nice , low lighting and quiet. Waiter came immediately , took drink order and left menu. Drinks arrived in short time. Once we ordered main course , was delivered in reasonable time. Menu is limited but the food was great. Both taste and presentation."

  • "The service was some of the best I have ever had. The food was pretty average. The rice was over-cooked. The waitress brought quinoa as a substitute. The food was very heavy on butter and fat, even the green beans. The cobbler had too much cinnamon an I did not like the oatmeal. Too much sauce on everything including the potatoes and salad. The stripped bass sauce had too much butter. I would recommend this place for service, drinks, view and ambiance but the food is average at best, especially for the price."

  • "My wife and I made reservations for two at The Spindletop restaurant because we received a gift card and wanted to go somewhere special. I told her it had been about 30 years since I last visited this restaurant. At the last second, we changed the reservation from two to four. As it turned out, the couple that joined us was celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. We all had a blast as we dined and enjoyed cocktails. My wife especially enjoyed her pan seared scallops and her crab cake appetizer. The ambience was romantic and the views of downtown Houston at sunset were phenomenal. The waiter, Ken, was very personable and accommodating. The valet parking was complimentary for up to 3 hours, which was really convenient. Wonderful place."

  • "The dining experience was superb from the moment I arrived. Free valet parking was included in the dining experience where the valet actually exceeded expectations and VIP parked my car. Upon arrival in the restaurant we were seated promptly with accordance to our reservation time. The 360 degree view of the city is extraordinary as you watch the city lights come to life as dusk turns to nightfall. The restaurant carries a decent selection of wines and the food was excellent. Our waiter was very courteous and friendly the entire time. Glasses were never left empty always being filled before having to ask. Overall it was a great experience and I will defiantly be planning a dinner date their again."

  • "My gf and I went there for her birthday this Tuesday. The waiter asked us if this was a special occasion and I had said this was my gf's birthday. The view was nice and thats the only great thing I can talk about this place. I ordered a Pina Colada. It was melted down which didn't even look like a Pina Colada. It didn't even taste fresh nor good. My gf order a salad and soup and I order the Spindletop special seafood. Let's just say I was very very disapointed. The soup came out really cold like they had microwaved it. The salad had 5 pieces of leaf for 9 bucks and didn't taste fresh. We had desert - chocolate mouise and I had asked for a scoup of icecream. They gave us 2 teaspoon of icecream and charged us 7 dollars. Very Dissapoin"

  • "I never knew the Spindletop was there, so I thrilled we were given a gift certificate for dinner there for Father's Day/Birthday. I normally am not comfortable with "heights", but this restaurant was so relaxing and so well designed that I couldn't stop looking at the view and hated to leave. The food was delicious, and the service was superb! Our waiter, Joe, was the best. He was so friendly, and seemed happy to even take our pictures for us. He even came back to take our picture where the scenic view was best, since the restaurant revolves continuously. I plan on sending my son and his wife there soon, and can't wait to return with my husband!"

  • "Anniversary dinner, first time Located in Hyatt Regency Downtown. Valet parking, Spindletop will validate.Business casual. View of downtown Houston, slow rotating floor. Nice and relaxing UNTIL a family of 4 was seated right behind us. I wish they could have sat them a table over because we could hear them and other family members crowded the VERY intimate area. Arnold Palmer $3 1 lime shrimp $14 vegetarian ravioli $30 Paell$38 Cheesecake $10 Total...$102.84 My only suggestion would be: Spindletop need to take note from Perry's, Flemings, and Ruth Chris Steakhouses because we normally select 1 of the 3 for our anniversary and they take pictures, provide a complimentary dessert or both and we spend the same amount of money."

  • "I found out about this restaurant while planning my trip to Houston and added it to my must do so I called and was able to get a reservation for my day in town. Two days later, i received a call saying the restaurant would be closed for maintenance on my selected date...a Thursday. I was disappointed but determined so I made another open-table reservation 2 days before my trip and did not receive a cancelation. Our welcome was very pleasant as our hostess was from Philadelphia, our home town, and gave us the old Philadelphia welcome. Not a bad seat in the house, so our view was great. Roasted crab and corn bisque, mussels, and paella entree were delicious. overall a neat experience with the spinning dining room you a 360 view of the city."

  • "This was our first visit and we went early so we didn't get a view of the downtown lights but the ambiance was still very elegant. The servers were very attentive, sometimes it seemed a bit too attentive but they were very friendly and helpful. The prices weren't as high as we expected which was a plus but the selections weren't that varied which is a minus. The food is for a more sophisticated pallate than what we have but we enjoyed our meal and had a very pleasant evening."

  • "I expected a romantic, scenic view with the revolving restaurant and reservation timed to catch the sunset. I was happily surprised to enjoy great friendly service and good food. The avocado dome appetizer was unique and delicious. A definite win. "

  • "The "Signature dish" paella was a disaster. The flavoring spice tasted like curry powder, not saffron as it should have been, and masked all other flavors in the dish. The dish was overcooked, so both the rice and sea-food were mushy. And there was a layer of reddish liquid fat or oil on the bottom, which should not have been there. My wife and I both like to make paella at home, where this result would have lead to a divorce. However, the restaurant management responded sympathetically to our comments, and did not charge for the paella. On the basis of one visit, I would suggest the steak."

  • "Spindletop is just wonderful. I have been three times, and each time was just perfect. The view, of course, is spectacular. The food? Second to none (I suggest the Avocado crab shell and the paella for two). I highly recommend this place."

  • "This was my husband and I's first time visiting Spindletop to celebrated our five year anniversary. The ambiance of the restaurant is very romantic, and for the most part, it was pretty quiet. I only say that because half way through our meal, a father brought his two little girls to celebrate their birthdays and well, they were kids. Which there is nothing wrong with that and we were entertained by their conversations. The views were stunning. Our reservation was at 8:30pm and we were able to see the sunset. Everything we ate was superb! I don't like fish, but I tasted my husbands Texas Stripe Bass and I could have eaten all of it! I had the rack of lamb and oh my goodness it was Delish! Be sure to try the key like cheesecake!"

  • "Took wife to celebrate our 29th year wedding anniversary. Great table next to window, panaramic view from the 365 degree rotational restaurant; we tried appetizors (crab cakes (all crab meat) and avocado dome - very tasty and delicious; main courses chosen were Paella - very fresh and a filet mignon - very soft and tasty; desert menu was varied and we tried two different delicious desserts which were highlighted by "Happy Anniversay" signs on each desert. All in all, a very romantic and memorable experience."

  • "From the moment the staff called to confirm our reservation to the moment we picked up our car from valet, the service was exquisite! The manager was very personable and made my wife's birthday dinner very memorable. The view overlooking Houston was amazing especially as the sun went down. The food was cooked and seasoned perfect. The waitress catered to anything we needed and/or asked in a very pleasant manner. We happened to go on a night that they had a pre-planned 4 course menu and for $10 more they paired the most matched wine to the first two entrès and paired a more compatible wine to the last two entrès. When I mentioned on the phone that it was my wife's birthday, they also made extra efforts that made the night stand out."

  • "The place was very good and nice, everything you expect from an expensive restaurant and more. The moving restaurant is so cool and its something you would want to do again and again ,the service is excellent and try to make reservations ahead of time also it would really help out, maybe a week ahead. The food was good and tasty drinks were also good. Definitely a place to take the family for special occasion or a cery nice romantic date with a loved one. "

  • "The service was fantastic. This was our first time dining at Spindle Top and the staff was so helpful. The waitress took time to explain the history other information about the city views. She cared enough to have a card signed by the staff for our anniversary. Nice touch. They all seemed to really care. "
