Spin a YarnEven better than I remember....My wife who loves the cooking shows caught the episode where Gordon Ramsey came in to help revamp the restaurant.
Since that episode she has wanted to try it. I returned from an international business trip and wanted a date night with my
wife and she chose to go try Spin a Yarn.
Interior nice, accommodated casual to fine dinning ambience. Food was outstanding...she had the mushroom pasta and I had prime rib, both were outstanding and service good.
After dinner we went to the bar area to have an after dinner drink and enjoyed the one man band that was playing
we will be back...and for others this is a Must try restaurant!

Danville, Ca.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday treatWe celebrated a birthday with an outstanding meal at Spin A Yarn. The restaurant has very nice decor and you can talk without having to compete with another table. I had been there before and after Gorden Ransey revamped the menu. I knew the new menu was excellent and we were not disappointed. The prime rib is carved at the table and was very tasty, as was the salmon and shrimp ricotta. we had the house wines which were very nice as well. The staff was friendly and seated us right away. We didn't have dessert since we had a cake waiting for us at home. We plan on coming back on occasions. I highly recommend it.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchWe went for the Mother's Day Brunch. Champaigne glasses stayed full and there were plenty of food options at the buffet, including prime rib, crab legs and omelets. There was a huge selection of desserts and fruits as well. The quality of the food was very good and everything was served at the right temperature. Overall a very pleasant experience.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTruly enjoyed the food. SinceTruly enjoyed the food. Since moving from the Midwest, we finally found a restaurant that meets our meat and potato standard.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMCool place for weekend lunchHad 7 folks enjoy a 2 PM lunch here on the Saturday before mothers day. Most places are a zoo on Sunday, so the family agreed to go out Saturday. The food was fantastic, as was the service staff. Bar staff was very attentive and I could not have been happier with all aspects of the event. Since we went at 2 PM, there were very few people there & that was kind of nice. I plan to do the same thing again next year.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPrime RibPrime Rib carved at the table - excellent. Our waiter, Keith, was very attentive and gave us great service.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was good and friendlyThe service was good and friendly and the food was good. We ordered the ribeye steak which was tasty but it seemed as though it might have been pounded to make it appear a little bigger. The prime rib was a generous size and served just as ordered. The pasta with ragu sauce was very good.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food, and especially,Outstanding food, and especially, outstanding service from our waiter Keith.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOur food was well preparedOur food was well prepared and presented. Enjoyed the Lamb chops particularly.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen going here for yearsBeen going here for years and keep coming back for excellent prime rib and steak.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall a good experience.Overall a good experience. I had been meaning to go for a while as I live in Fremont and want to support local restaurants. I wish they had more options for vegetarians.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe reserved for 3rd seatingWe reserved for 3rd seating for Easter (1-3 PM). When we got there, everything was almost empty and had to wait for refills. When they finally brought the new prime rib rack, it was served cold. The dessert area looked like a storm passed by it. it was messy. the cakes were all store bought from groceries and they got the cheapest ones. The salmon & chicken & rice were good. The crab was okay. The salads were ok. There was french toast that was soaking in so much oil. eggs benedict was cooked perfectly. So for $33 a person, we would have been better off going to one of the buffet places that had more choices and better food at 1/2 the price. Our server was nice, attentive & fast.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe missed the noontime rushWe missed the noontime rush and the place was almost empty. Service was excellent and my seafood linguini was very good. One lunch fish dish was slightly overcooked otherwise the food was great.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMBest steakhouse in the SouthbayMy oh my, the portions are great, the food is good, and the ambiance is amazing. I had the prime rib, baked potato, and creamed spinach. It was absolutely amazing, could not have asked for anything better.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMTry Spin a Yarn again!Had not been to Spin a Yarn in several years, and we were pleasantly surprised. Gordon Ramsey had done a Kitchen Nightmares show on the restaurant about a year ago, as business was lacking. It was excellent! The menu doesn't give a clear picture of all the food that you get. Included with your meal, you get soup or salad, your entree, and vegetables and a starch. I had the halibut and husband had the salmon. Both were huge, and perfectly prepared. Our server was Keith, and he was professional and very fun and personable. Next time we will try a meat dish, and we will be back. Prices are also very reasonable.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
