Spill the Wine is recently re-located to the Uptown, Lynn Lake neighborhood! Recently voted best wine bar in Minneapolis/St.Paul magazine, we offer a New American small plates inspired menu. Our wine list has a regional focus with over 30 by the glass options and several wine flights to try each month.

  • "I'm sorry , but I paid at least $18 for the scallops.. well, take the s off the end of that because I think i got about 1 scallop. it was raw, and sliced very finely.. spread over the plate with a finely chopped relish. it was delicious. but for the price I would expect a bit more than one lousy scallop! maybe there were actually two.. but they were so thinly sliced that one is more likely. The waitress brought out the food "as it came up: she said. so ... everything sort of "dribbled out " to us and the bread came last. the other two got their meal about 5 minutes before i got mine."

  • "I see why the ratings for this place isn't as good as expected. I really enjoyed the food. We ordered 4 or 5 small plates to share and it was perfect. However, we were 1 of about 4 tables there, with two servers, and my water glass was filled exactly once and that was after 10 minutes of it sitting empty and me flagging down someone. Such a bummer."

  • "Order the mahi-mahi plate for two, and I could've easily eaten the entire thing and then ordered another one and ate that as well, maybe even a third and I am not a big person at all. Ordered a couple smaller plates of fries and cheese curd truffles which were both delicious! In fact, aside from my previous statement everything else was great, and all of the food was really good!"

  • "We were informed by our waitress just before we sat down that there was a new chef and he had made changes to the menu. Have to say after having sampled 5 different small dishes, that unfortunately I'm feeling this change was not for the better. Previously the food had always been amazing and mouthwatering, regardless of the selection. This time around, while the food was decent, some things were a little overdone, the flavor seemed turned down, more muted and charred. Still good, but sadly not the great tastes we've gotten used to expecting. Good news is the wine flights are still solid selections. This was my favorite spot, so I want to give it one more chance, next time it might just be at the bar for Happy Hour though."

  • "We made a reservation for 7pm on a Monday night. When we got there, half the tables were open but it took over 15 minutes before we were seated and then another 10 minutes before we go our first drink which is ridiculous. We later found out that a waitress was cut early in the evening since it was looking "slow". Other than that, food was great. Tasted good but feel like it was a bit over priced for what we got. Restaurant was nice and clean inside."

  • "Service was "so so". Felt that the server was not on top of things. There were 5 of us. When asked for bread. We were given 4 small pieces. Common sense, if there are 5 people and the bread pieces are very small, then bring 5 pieces so there is one for each. This was a Tuesday night. The restaurant wasn't even half full. We were told you were out of two of the main courses and one of the smaller plates. And a 3rd main course had a substitute meat choice. My meal was good. Others seemed to like there's overall, but no one indicated that they "loved" it. I bought the wine card prior to the service and meal. I'll be back to give it a second try."

  • "After a day of tornado warnings, a lock down in Mom's nursing home, and a missing wedding dress I took guests to Spill the Wine for happy hour before seeing "Ghost" at the Orpheum Theater!!! What a wonderful surprise you were! Amazing wait staff, personable, funny, and efficient! However good the staff was, the food was triple that!!! I was enthralled with the scallop Carpaccio, and the Tres Leche cake was incredible; not the usual wet pudding-like mixture, but instead firm, and flavorful! Your service and excellent food allowed us to relax and unwind and enjoy the evening! Thank you! P.S. The wedding dress was found!!"

Food overall was good but overpriced for portion size. Having small plates to share was good idea and fun.   • "We came here for brunch on Easter, just 2 of us. Since it was the first nice weather day of the year we opted to eat outside. The patio is on the back of the restaurant with a view of the parking lot. Definitely not an inspiring view, although it did get us outside. If we go there again, we would eat inside. We were very happy with the food. The only complaint was that our server did not know how many slices of bacon were in an order, so we ended up ordering more than we needed."

  • "I went to Spill the Wine after having bought a voucher for eight persons. The five course "small plates" were more than satisfactory in taste, but skimpy portions ....even for small plates. Wine choices were very good. The waitress certainly was enthusiastic about the menu....but seldom checked back with us. The biggest problem was the noise level. It was compounded by the fact our table was rectangular.....making it impossible to converse with whole group. A large round table for eight would have been more suited to the type of dinner we had."

  • "We have been to Spill the Wine a couple times in the past, and they are chronically understaffed. This time was no exception. My water was never refilled, my food was not served as ordered, what I did receive was tasteless (literally tasteless, and I don't understand how that is even possible given it had peppers in it), and the rest of my group had a similar experience. The best thing I can say is that some of the food our group received was good. It's a gamble here, and we won't be back to roll the dice again."

  • "Food was good, odd menu though. Unfortunately this came with the price of really bad service. Every thing seemed to take way longer than necessary and they weren't that busy. Glasses would be empty for 10-15 minutes without the server coming by - it would take arm waving to get anything more."

  • "We had the fried stuffed olives and the baked bruschetta with proscuitto and arugula which were tasty. There were only four entree selections - three with meat and fries, and a crab BLT. Would love to see some fish (that isn't breaded so heavily you can't taste the fish, which is what we experienced on our first visit). I want to love this place! It's right in the neighborhood and has a good atmosphere, but with all the great foodie places around, they could really stand to serve a little more variety, especially fresh fish or veggies."

  • "Our first time to your new location. The noise level was more than energetic . Please install some baffles in the ceiling or something. We could not talk across the table as we could not hear each other, only the one next to us. GREAT service and loved the food."
