Benvenuti a Spiga Ristorante, where you will enjoy traditional regional Italian cuisine. By day, Spiga is a casual trattoria, serving simple fare like wood-oven pizza, savory risotto, and hand-crafted panini. By night, copper silk drapes, white linens and shimmering sconces bathe Spiga in a romantic glow. Dine indoors or out, on our sunny, landscaped patio. As in the Italian countryside, ingredients are all produced in house, from the crusty breads and infused oils and vinegars to the handcut pasta.   • "I've dined at Spiga many times in the past years since it opened. However the waitress we had was very abrupt and rude. She rushed us in ordering, and instead of describing what the fish of the day was, said, "it's haddock and prepared like on the menu down below", pointing at the menu at the time. We searched for it ourselves. She rather spoiled our dining out w/a good friend who we hadn't seen for months! Of course, when she presented our bill, she was very friendly. The tip was coming!"

  • "Hi! When we arrived the ceiling fans were on as well as the AC. We found it too cold and despite my tendancy to not complain our guests were also cold. One mention and everything was turned off. The food was great as usual. Spiga is an excellent restaurant with a very frendly owner Carmello."

  • "We had a wonderful meal at Spiga. So many good things to say about this restaurant. We had pasta as appetizer, strozzapreti in oxtail ragu, tagliatele and lobster ravioli, REALLY to die for!!! Fish dishes and Lamb as second course all outstanding. Salmon and Cod were perfectly cooked. Lamb dish was delicious. We share all desserts on the menu, all wonderful! We have been here many times and always thoroughly enjoyed the food and overall experience. Thanks Chef Robert and his strong kitchen crew!"

  • "Another wonderful dinner at Spiga's - the swordfish special was great and their homemade pasta is always good. The waitstaff is consistently attentive and considerate. Thank you! My one issue for this restaurant is the seating table arrangement - most of the tables for two are lined up in rows, so private conversation is not always possible. If there was a way to alternate the table configurations/angles for couples to adjust for this, it would be much more enticing."

  • "We absolutely love dining here! We look forward to coming here again & again. This visit was as fabulous as previous visits. My husband & I started by sharing the special appetizer: grilled squid over lentil rice (I think it was lentil). Delicious! Then we both ordered the risotto special. Which was filled with all kinds of seafood, including huge chunks of lobster tail. Boy, did we win the lottery on this dish! There was so much on my plate that my husband had to help me finish....so I can have room for their tiramisu! Loved every bite of it. We also shared a bottle of Sangiovese that was just perfect with our meal. Service was excellent, as usual. Thank you Nicole! That was a satisfying visit!"

  • "First time here. I really enjoyed my dinner (seafood risotto) but my husband said the sauce of his lobster ravioli tasted like SpaghettiOs. Service was generally good but a couple of dings - had to ask twice about the stock in my seafood risotto and my salad was missing the pear described in the menu. Yummy garlic bean dip with bread kept coming. Overall I liked the atmosphere and lots of choices for us on the menu, so will probably try it again."

  • "I took my wife here for her birthday after reading a few Yelp reviews. Every review I read said that the food was fantastic, the service was great and that it's a hidden gem in Needham. As we recently moved into town (Needham) and are looking for new regular spots for great food, I decided to try Spiga. My wife and I were definitely not disappointed! She had oxtail over handmade pasta, and I had the risotto special (scallops and mushrooms). Both main courses were outstanding. We also had appetizers (I had an asparagus salad, she had the mussels and clams in a broth option), and finished with dessert (ricotta with berries for her, 3 scoops of gelato for me). The food was awesome, and our server was very polite, helpful and simply fantastic!"

  • "I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. We arrived a 10 mins late because we got lost. Of course I called and they were gracious and welcoming. Our "server" was knowledgeable and attentive w/o being intrusive. We chose a Bibb lettuce salad to start, an amazing eggplant dish for a second, and a veal chop that was a special that evening. We split each of the three items which they did artistically and w/o extra charge. I've already recommended Spiga to friends."

  • "Okay, there aren't a lot of options - but the vegetarian dishes are great. I had the Artisinal Mozzarella (mozzarella, vine ripe tomatoes basil extra virgin olive oil and crostone) and the butternut squash gnocchi (butternut squash and potato gnocchi, crumbled amaretti cookies, seared grapes, light brown butter sauce). I typically don't like gnocchi as it tends to be heavy on the stomach - but this one was somehow light (probably due to the squash). The seared grapes provided the contrast after each bite and made the overall dish very good. The other vegetarian option, eggplant parmigiana in crosta takes ~30minutes to prepare - i've had it before - great if you have luxury of time. The service was excellent too!"

  • "The food at Spiga was amazing. Incredibly flavorful and fresh. We split three courses and finished the not small plate for each one. The wine was very good and although it was a white and our second course was the eggplant parm, it still complemented nicely. Our server was attentive but not overbearing and even though it's a small space, the high ceilings make it feel almost as if you're outdoors."

Always try to make these moments special and Spiga definitely assisted in doing just that. Fabulous food, wine and service. It's been a long time since I've had lamb chops and prefer my meats rare. They didn't disappoint and I was in heaven...mouthwatering. Typically, I am a red wine lover but my daughter prefers white. We had a white that I hope to enjoy again. It was terrific and just added to making this evening even more memorable. Definitely a hidden gem. Needham is very lucky to have this establishment in it's backyard. Thank you...."

  • "We selected this place when looking for a half way point location to meet friends. We were surprised at how small it was, but loved it. It was very nicely decorated and warm feeling. We were seated at our table before our reservation and were able to drink some wine while waiting for the rest of our party. The food was freshly prepared and beautifully presented, though the portions were not huge, but reasonable (which I like, honestly). What I loved most was that we did not feel rushed. We were able to visit with our friends while enjoying the unique menu offerings. The service was excellent. We will go back again."
