  • "I've been to spice route on a few occasions for drinks and have always enjoyed the causal upscale atmosphere. The decor is beautiful and original, you must visit the washrooms at spice route! The food is Asian fusion, its tasty and presented well. Service was a bit slow when we dined at spice route however our waitress did apologize for the slow service and explained the restaurant was busy due to summerlicious and two major concerts in the city that night. Would recommend this restaurant to foodies and couples looking to spice up their date night."

  • "From the moment we entered the restaurant we were impressed. It was as if we had entered a whole new world. The ambience, the food, the service were exceptional. The food portions were large and great for sharing. Can't wait to go back."

  • "Five of us went to Spice Route for Summerlicious as none of us had eaten there before but had heard good things. The busboys kept forgetting to clear our table, so the manager had to come and do so at least twice. Once the busboy saw this and came running over - he started to clear cutlery but the manager told him not to so he put the cutlery (which had already been put on a presumably dirty tray) back on the table without offering a new set. The food left much to be desired - Vegetarian Singapore Noodles had no veggies, they didnt ask how to cook my steak and the salmon didnt taste like anything. The dessert was fine, but overall I'm not in a rush to go back."

  • "We came with friends for a Summerlicious dinner. Enjoyed the decor and the ambience - lovely and interesting setting. However, the food was adequate, but not memorable. Portions especially for the main course were rather small (we had lemon chicken and the salmon). Desert and appetizer portions were good. Food lacked flavour."

  • "Went here for the first time with a group 0f 6. Food was great, good crowd. The only bad thing was our table was very small for a group of 6(we had reso). We felt like we were squished at a 4 person table. There was a small table for 2 empty beside us all night. Would have appreciated if they had pulled that over to give us more room... but first time experience overall was great. I would visit this place again."

  • "The food was spectacular, and the service was impeccable. The decor of the restaurant (and even the washrooms!) are gorgeous. The location was close to pretty much everything. Loved it, will definitely go back!"

  • "Went on a Thursday when it was dollar sushi, which proved to be a good value. Cool ambiance, bathrooms are also great. Sangria was good, but felt like there barley taste any alcohol even after agreeing to add an extra vodka shot."

  • "I've dined at Spice Route a few times now. It's one of my favorite spots to visit when I'm in town. After raving about my last experiences, my friends wanted to try it. The food was cold, the server was absent, dishes we ordered were never brought to the table. We had to track down our server to inquire about our last course as it took quite a long time. I'm hoping this was a fluke because I've always enjoyed dining there. My three friends who were all first time diners said they would not go back."

  • "There was 4 in our party 3 of us had never been including myself, heard over whelming comments about the restaurant and i must say that I was more impress upon arrival. We had a late reservation which could have been a dissater, but we wre welcomed as if it was the beginning of the evening. The food was beauitful presented mined you i found the table to be to small for four, the wait staff was fun and accommediating and to top it off someone that looked like senior management came over as we were leaving to make sure everything was to our liking. Neither one of us could fine anything wrong not that we were looking. Loved the place and will be back..."

  • "The drinks and atmosphere at spice route were amazing. However, the food was very disappointing. Although our appetizers were good the main dishes were not flavourful at all. In fact the vegetarian Thai curry had zero flavour and the sauce was gelatinous- a horrible texture. I would only come back to spice route for drinks and appetizers but not for the main course. The wait staff were all very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere again was absolutely gorgeous. I would work on the menu to make it more authentic or just more flavorful."

  • "This place has excellent decor that is enough to make you stop and stare at all the interesting decor. It doesn't take long to realize that if you value your hearing, you won't want to be here too long as despite it being a dinner place (at the time, i heard it turns into a dance place?) they have the music at near "club" volume. The service and everything was fair but the food isn't that good... I'm more impressed by mandarin to be honest. I had the pad thai and it was over the top sour as if someone had spilled a bit too much vinegar. It's nothing special really, I wouldn't go again, it's fine to try it once but the pickle barrel does way better food if mandarin is not your choice."

  • "The atmosphere was good for a bar scene but if you want to go for dinner after a show I do not recommend as the music was so load that we couldn't have a conversation. The sushi rolls were good but the mains dishes not so much. We had kung poa chicken which was way too sweet and not good at all and the Cantonese chow mein which was also horrible that a sauce that was slimy and tasteless. I will not be returning for the food that's for sure. "

  • "The food that we received was very flavorful. We were slightly disappointed with the server. He forget one of the dishes we ordered and our table had to ask at least 3x before we got it. By the time we got the kimchi rice ,we had already eaten all of our sides and had no meat left to enjoy it. Overall great decor and ambiance."

  • "My friend and I sat on the lovely patio at Spice Route, and enjoyed dragon rolls, dim sum platter, and seafood chowmein before hitting the theatre (Royal Alex). Great experience - ambience, service, and food. Definitely a destination place near the Entertainment district. Sophisticated yet relaxed. Not too crowded, just perfect."

  • "I recently had my birthday dinner here, it was great! I had a small party of about 6 people. The food was awesome everyone enjoyed every dish that came out. It was Sunday so everyone par took in the all you can eat Asian food. I have a severe gluten allergy and they were very accommodating to that and brought me a gluten free menu and also told me which dishes that came out were safe for me to eat. I had a wonderful dining experience and my guests really enjoyed themselves. The services for drinks was a bit slow but it was understandable because the place was busy and it is quite big. I would highly recommend this place and will be returning! "

  • "We came here on a Sunday while they have a $24 all you can eat special, what an amazing deal. It was not a buffet, you ordered off a menu that had something for everyone. We loved everything we ordered, will definitely be going back again for this!"

  • "We went for a special dinner on Mother's Day. The all you can eat menu was a fabulous selection of their regular menu, and we were able to request many different things. It was a romantic dining experience, and we left feeling full. The staff wasn't pushy, and circled regularly to check on us. I loved how some of the drinks came with fresh fruit! We plan to go back very soon."

  • "I expected an Asian Fusian kind of restaurant but found more of a supper club atmosphere. The music was loud which made talking difficult. But the service was good, the food was good also although portions run to the small side. I'd go again for sure...was fun and different."

  • "We dined at Spice Route for my Dad's 91st BD on Apr 11th! The food was very good.....however, the service was severely lacking in attentiveness!! The waiter got one of the orders wrong and blamed my sister for ordering the wrong item, which she did not! After some coaching, he finally brought out the BD cake. He asked how I wanted it cut and I told him not too large and I showed him the size I wanted. Well, he brought them out quite a bit larger than I had wanted AND cut way past the centre line on a round cake........consequently the the pieces were huge!!!! No one could eat them all......what a waste of a cake!!! Plus there was a $6 cake cutting fee.....what a joke that was to pay $6 for the waiter to demolish my Dad's BD cake!! :( "

  • "We dined at the Spice Route on Saturday evening and couldn't believe how incredibly exquisite the food was! The wine, even better! We ordered an appetizer, followed by a bottle of aged red wine, and to top it off, we combined it with a variety of different stir fry dishes! When collaboratively combined, all three of these items made for a unique taste, and one that we will not soon forget. Of all the Asian restaurants, and fine dining clubs we have eaten at, we all agreed that this one was at the top of the list. Thank you Spice Route - we look forward to dining with you again "

  • "My family's experience on our first visit to Spice Route was a little disappointing. We were seated for over 20 min before we had a server come see us at 7pm on a Sat night (we had to ask for a server as nobody was interested in taking care of us). The apps we ordered were exceptional and the sushi was also very good. The Singapore rice noodles with wok seared beef was nothing special (yes it was a bit spicy as we expected), but the flavour was not authentic (I travel to Asia regularly). We also ordered the Spicy indian curried tiger prawn claypot. And this was one major disappointment (the flavours are more like what you would find in China not India). The Mango + apple dragon rolls and Raspberry chocolate brownie were terrific."

  • "I really enjoyed the multiple experiences I have had at this restaurant. I would urge other customers to go on Sunday so they can partake in their all you can eat menu, because their food selections are devine!"

  • "The food itself was very tasty, however the portions were very small and we were mislead by our waitress. We were told each dish was meant to be shared and would likely be too much food for one person. Luckily we decided to go big and each ordered our own dish, however my "chicken breasts piled high" (as described by our server) ended up being 3 tiny legs (wing sized) with 2 pieces of triangle naan bread. So be aware... order lots!"

  • "Had dinner with a friend and were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful food choices. The Cheese Cake Lollipop was a great surprise. Seats against the windows have no back rest and may be uncomfortable for some. I just ordered another drink and powered through it. Wine by the glass selection was pretty good. They could extend their selection of wines."

  • "Great dining experience! I really enjoyed the ambience and the food was incredible. The presentation of the food was impressive and it was just the right portion size to leave you satisfied. I particularly liked the crowd. Young professionals on a night out either enjoying a meal or having a drink by the bar. Will be returning yet again!"

  • "Overall, the restaurant is beautiful and the staff and service was very good. The food however, was mediocre at best. A step up from a PF Changs, but not much of one - dumplings were dry, Kung pao chicken was tasteless and the squid was rubbery. Ate here on Sunday night – did not know that it was "all-you-can-eat" night. Maybe that was the issue, I've never been a big fan of that concept, as quality always tends to go down."

  • "We had an amazing time at Spice Route. Among 4 of us we shared 3 appetizers, 2 meat dishes, rice and noodles and had way too much food. Glad we made room for dessert which was also delectable. This is my 4th visit to Spice Route and will definitely return. My friends thanked me for recommending it."

  • "Loved the restaurant. Dinner was for 7:30 on a Saturday night. Not a great place to go on a first date due to the noise level and you can touch the strangers seated next to u. Food was excellent. Can't wait to try out the patio as I went in the winter. Washrooms were neat and compact, however I couldn't use it because it had a full glass wall with a view outside that made me uncomfortable :) I would definitely go back there, not on a first date but with friends. I had a mojito and it was the worse I've ever had. Filled with lime and it seemed like nothing else. Waitress suggested a lychee martini which definitely made up for it! Great atmosphere and great food. I will go back there with friends. Great food! Was a good experience overall."

  • "On arrival at the bar I asked what wines they had by the glass. I was told varietals (shiraz, cab etc) but when asked they couldn't say where it was from or the vineyard. Odd. I asked for the wine list which has some half dozen by the glass reds. After sitting at our table we had a good meal. Nothing notable. After our food was served there was no sign of our server for twenty minutes after we had done eating. We had to flag someone else to ask for our bill. Still our server didnt show up. Had to ask again. Finally someone else brought out bill and then dissapeared so nobody could take out payment. We sat there another ten minutes trying to pay our bill. I would have rated everything better but the service was really sub-par."
