Have been here in the past and still appreciate the ambiance and service. Overall feel of the restaurant is great but the food was a disappointment. Had sushi, pad tai, lemon chicken and aside from the sushi was not impressed with the rest. Also had coffee with fried bananas, the dessert was to doughy. Would give it another try but was not impressed.

The food was excellent and the price was very reasonable considering the size of the dishes. Although, the music was very loud that I could barely hear my friend who was sitting next to me. Also it was a bit dark for my liking. The atmosphere was very nice and are table was ready when we go there. Overall I would go back again.

After specifically asking our server to space our courses out, our mains appeared almost on top of the apps. Our wine appeared after our mains. We ordered as one of our mains the "Clay Pot Lobster" special. It arrived in an aluminum bowl... "well we just call it that". It was apparent that the Chef had taken a meat cleaver to a Lobster and put it in a stew. Hence the stew was littered with shards from the shell making it almost inedible. The rest of the mains were just OK. Brownie and Cheesecake desert were good, but not nearly enough to pull the meal out of the disappointing category. Vibe was cool, room is nice, maybe go for some apps and hangout, maybe. Too many other choices in the neighbourhood.

Would definitely recommend this spot. Urban and great ambience. Food quantity is good blended with top notch quality. Was dissapointed that nothing special was done for my friend's birthday though. Was expecting a gesture. Instead we were told we would be charged 2$ each to have a cake we bought. I understand the outside food rule but they could have got us something as we have a huge bill.

I like Spice Route, it never lets me down. However this Saturday our server was a real pain, creepy & nagging. When we first arrived & still didn't even put our jackets down he asked if we're ready 2 order FOOD. Although we explained that we'll start off with drinks & we'll order dinner later, he would literally pop up every few minutes from our back 2 ask us if we're ready 2 order. 2 let him off our backs we decided 2 order & of course the food didn't take much time 2 be served & after we didn't feel like drinking anymore & even left early. It felt like he wanted 2 have a fast service 2 make time for another group to take the table. This server needs a lot of training.

The food was fantastic, wine was great. I've never had worse service in my life. Our server was existent, when he did walk by I had to flag him to order drinks. Then flag him down to order food and then again for our bill. He never said more than 5 words to us. He refilled out water a few times, but that was it. We spoke about how bad the service was, we were actually shocked about it.

We were a party of 5 on a Friday evening. If you've been to Spice Routes, you know it looks great! The server said not less then 4 entrees for the group, but we all found it too much food. When charging, he rounded up the total to divide among us..it was a matter of a few dollars, but it's presumptuous to do so - leave it for the tips. We ask to have the remaining of our food to go, and were asked twice by the same busser for confirmation - a second one asked again before picking it up. Wasabi Crusted Shrimp looks and tastes great! Cantonese Chow Mein was perfectly cooked. Beijing Peking Duck could have more flavour to it Mongolian Sirloin Beef delicious Kung Pao Chicken good Prices are fair considering the whole experience. Will come back

The décor and atmosphere was nice, and I've had drinks there before, and wanted to try dinner instead with two out of town guests. Waitress was not useful in providing recommendations, no clue on menu. Won ton soup was ok, but the Beijing Duck was too dry and meat was too big for the wraps, Buddha feast lacked any variety in vegetables and lacked flavour, Black Cod was only average in taste. Only the chicken and asparagus stirfry was decent, but waitress mistakenly stated it had breaded chicken. For the price point and host of options in Toronto for Asian food, this place is not worth the time or money, despite the vibe/ambience. For dinner, the place is also quite dead, so better to go later in night for a bar scene.

My friends and I went on a Sunday, this is the all you can eat night. The server was very friendly and polite, however, that was the only thing that made the experience at spice route enjoyable. Every item from appetizers to main items came out cold. Even when the server had some items remade.

The decor is very zen, pan-Asian motifs with dark accents. A lounge-y ambience. Service was OK. Our group of 5 sat there for more than 5 mins without being greeted. A server did eventually arrive to take our drink orders, then another server came by to take our food order. We weren't entirely sure which one was our server as night progressed. Food was disappointing. To be fair, I knew going to a King W resto that served Asian/Chinese cuisine would be in no way authentic, but I expected it to still taste good. Of our handful of entrees, the crispy orange beef was tasty. That was it. Lettuce wrap peking duck didn't taste like duck; miso glazed black cod had zero flavour and cantonese chow mein was bland. Don't waste your money here.

Didn't realize they had a patio.... Would have been nice if they asked if wanted to sit there. A table for two, we sat what feels like the middle of the restaurant at a table for 4. Main course came first..... Apps very second. Food really wasn't outstanding. It was OK, but I compared the food to PF Chang's.... But much smaller portions. They were very accommodating for my gluten limitations. Overall: just ok.

Great location, we had a show at Princess of Wales. I would describe the food as very good Chinese food, but it probably depends on what you have. We had the lemon chicken which was very tasty and not greasy, and the rice was also good. A bit overpriced for the type of food. The drinks were good, the service was excellent of course will depend on who you get, and the decor as others have mentioned is great. For the younger crowd the lounge area outside looked great for drinks in the warmer months. I would definitely give it another try.

I highly recommend this restaurant, it was fun, great outdoor patio atmosphere. We were 5 well travelled women, who enjoy cooking and when it comes to dining out, it better be good. Everything we ordered, from sushi to noodles was delicious. The server, Victoria, had unbelievable high energy, talkative, explained what could be had on the drink and food menu...and the best part was, we got there just before happy hour ended. A selection of mixed drinks and wine, along with a variety of sushi was definitely on the happy hour price list which ended at 8 pm. We all enjoyed ourselves and definitely would like to return on a regular basis, even though we live in Port Credit.

Spice Route has a great ambiance, beautiful inside. However I was quite disappointed due to a few reasons: I was going to be charged $3 per plate EXTRA to cut a cake I had brought from home (never had to do that at any other restaurant Ive dined at, what a rip off!) I ended up cutting the darn thing in a PARKING LOT! HOW CLASSY! - It was ridiculously hot in the area where I had my dinner party. I would say if you're looking for somewhere that has a pretty great view check it out other than that.. not worth it.

We sat down at the table and has to wait for 15 mins before our server came to bring us the water. Then she came back another 15 mins. to take our order but the foods came out pretty fast --- doesn't matter if they are appetizers or main courses, they all came out at the same time once it is cooked. So if the chef's speed is faster than the eating speed of the customers, you could end up all three courses on the table at the same time! Only 1 woman's washroom's door could be locked!

Spice Route is one of my favorite restaurants in Toronto - beautiful space (indoor and out! the patio - gorgeous!), fantastic food, fun and energetic vibe... it's great! Although it can be quite pricey. My girlfriends and I go on THURSDAYS - their delicious sushi is $1 for a piece or $4-6 for rolls. The Red Hot roll is TO DIE FOR! Also their spiked tea is delicious and very unique, I would highly recommend trying their hot ones or their new Lemonade one for summer.

Cool enough place, and they know how to mix a drink. Food was tasty, with ample sized portions. What I realized just as I was leaving was that the service was sublime. Our server, Danny, was friendly and knowledgeable - without being over the top, totally unobtrusive, yet seemingly always there just as I realized I needed something. THAT'S SERVICE.

I went to Spice Route for dinner after a recommendation based on the atmosphere and experience, and I was not disappointed. Lastly our group of 9 was easily accommodated in one of the many large booths. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

The food was horrible. The service was subpar. The only thing that caught my interest was maybe the interior of the place. But, that wasn't even sufficient enough to make up for the food. Mind you, the "asian" cuisine they serve here are not authentic; they serve fusion dishes that combine a mix of Asian and American. As such, their food did not appeal to me and I felt like I would rather go to a Chinese take-out place than go here. Also, I felt the dishes were too overpriced for their quality, which really made me upset, as I had high expectations when I first came in. Even the service wasn't that great, as I had to constantly ask the waitress to come over and attend our needs... Overall, I don't want to go back here again.

I went here for summerlicious. We waited an hour and a half for our appetizer, our main was thirty minutes and same with our dessert. Our waiter was not busy as the restaurant was quite and the food did not make up for the lack of service. The steak was over cooked and too chewy.

I came for my 4th year wedding anniversary. I was not asked if I would like a second drink, the waitress mostly forgot us except when I tried to make eye contact with her. She also forgot about my dessert completely. There were two other groups who came after us and left before because their food arrived on time. Overall a very unpleasant experience because I wanted to ask if my noodles were vegetarian, I strongly suspected fish sauce. However, since she barely came around I ended up not eating it and giving it to my husband. Would strongly recommend the waitress check in and make sure she gets the order correctly. Instead of apologizing 45 minutes later.
