Having grown up in St. Louis and enjoyed "The Hill" we have found good Italian food quality and taste diminishing throughout the US. Not so at Spezia! From the salad to the marina sauce, from the wine to the main course, this is the tastiest food I have had in decades. The four of us for lunch tried five courses of food to really get picture of Spezia's quality. All five of the dishes, including ravioli, steak, chicken, and fish were winners. The Cioppino Spezia is one of the best ciopinos I have had anywhere. My wife loved her chicken parm. The beef burgundy special got rave reviews from my son and the free range chicken was enjoyed by my daughter-in-law. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. From the moment of arrival, friendly and knowledgeable service was clearly evident. The wait staff was attentive without rushing us through dinner. The food could not have been better. The pasta dishes were ample, flavorful and fun. The pecan crusted walleye was light and moist.
