"For a steak place they could not cook my friends steak medium well. Came out medium, then they put it back twice and it came out well done. Although my steak was quite good (because I ordered it medium), was disappointed about how my friends steak came out."

"I thought Spencer's had excellent service except for one issue, but the steaks came rare when we asked for medium well, and when we asked for them to be re-heated for us he told us thy all come like that and we could not reheat it. I finally had to ask for the manager, and he re-heated them for us. So overall I would say the service was good, food was so-so. We are not going again though, but would recommend for maybe a first date or special occasion."

"Spencers always has very good food. Unlike some steak houses that seem to get negligent in remembering that they are supposed to be providing world class food and service, Spencers never fails to please. We had a group of 7 for dinner before a show and the service and food was excellent. Every meal was perfect and delivered perfectly. Much better than some of the higher priced steak houses in San Jose."

"Outstanding food and service. It was a bit pricey, but consistent with the food quality and excellence. The ambiance felt more like being on the road than a local restaurant; couldn't get away from the Hotel/Convention attachment feel."

"This is my third time to Spencers for lunch and for the third time in a row the food was outstanding. I ordered the Salmon, which was cooked to perfection. It was accompanied with green beans, fingerling potatoes, and just the right amount of pesto. We were seated slightly prior to the lunch crowd arriving and by the time we were ready for our check, our server was nowhere to be found and we end up waiting over twenty minutes from the time we were finished our meal until we found the server to ask for the check. I do not usually mind sitting with my guest but since this was lunch time, we were on a time constraint as we had to get back to work. From an otherwise perfect meal, this was my only complaint."

"Kind of disappointing.. We usually have great steaks here..mine was just ok and for the price, not so good. Wine list limited. Usually a good spot for business dinners but not a great experience this time."

"We started with the Caesar salad which was very good. The Spencers rib eye was cooked to perfection. The accompaning Spencers fries were excellant, but I thought that the spinach was a little too tart."
