He was a little spacey. We waited a long time to place our first drink order, which is a little unusual. The rest of the Business Lunch went about the same. The only thing I wouldn't rate a 10 is the amount of food served........it's too much. I think that takes away from the overall experience. Although they are fairly good at trying to accommodate special requests, this time they provided me with everything I asked for. It was absolutely perfect, with the exception of the waiter. He tried, but just couldn't seem to pull it together; however, once management new there were some issues they were very attentive and followed up throughout the lunch to ensure everything was OK. It would be hard pressed to ask for anything more and this is not the exception, but the norm. The ambiance outside under the trees, is problably the best in the city. Waitstaff is very good. Diane our server was very nice. Apps are fantastic, especially the Kung Pao Calamari. The Crab Cakes are very good, My duck was very good, but the recommendation for medium, when rare to medium rare is more appropriate was a bit of a miss. Desserts are great. The wine list is very extensive with selections for any taste or budget. For this type of wine list, the sommelier needs to be present. Currently living in Newport Beach, we are accustomed to fine dining but most places lack the right ambiance and are either too loud or boring. This place had the piano player who entertained you all during the meal and the food was fabulous! Really good! We had the $38 Prix Fixe meal which was a good value and we felt we got a lot for our money. the clietele was upscale and we felt like we belonged. The wine list is Phenomenal! Personal birthday card inserted in the menu. They think of everything. Service was impeccable; you know the kind that you only notice when you need something and they are standing there with more bread. How to they do that?
This is one of our favorite places for special occasions. Sometimes we make up special occasions just to go for dinner.
Haven't tried the brunch yet, but I bet its to die for.

They have a vast wine list with prices from 35$ up into the thousands. When we return, and we will return, I will have only an appetizer.
Service was outstanding and done in a timely manner respecting our wish to take our time. The only negative we incurred was that we had to ask several time to turn the air conditioning down. Arrived at 8:20 for 8:30 reservation and were offered to either sit inside by the piano immediately or outside under the twinkle lit trees on the beautiful patio in 20 minutes. We were hungry so decided to sit inside by the piano and we were very happy we did. The pianist was very talented and the music was not at all loud. The decor is elegant and informal at the same time with many open windows and doors looking out onto the patio. The seafood we sampled was all excellent (crispy skin whitefish & Dover sole, along with the seafood platter appetizer). The service was friendly and timely. We couldn't sit outside, but we did get a table overlooking the tennis courts and that was just fine. The wine list is very solid and has plenty of choices at all price levels. The only minor disappointment was the banana cream pie for dessert. It was too light on the bananas.

Large selection of too many great items to choose from, if you're a fan of excellent Nouveau American Cuisine. The wine list is spectacular and if you are fortunate enough to be there on a night their sommelier is in...you may find a hidden gem of a bottle and spend far less than you expected. The service was good...I won't say great only because our server failed to mention that most of our dinners came with a side and we needn't have bothered to order extras but c'est la vie...Everything from the veal chop...to the Moroccan chicken to the Dover Sole and Filet were done to perfection.
