Outstanding service (Matt). Great wine list (Napa Merlot) Wonderful entrees (Buffalo, chefs special steak) Divine dessert (brownie with sponge toffee) Really good mushrooms. I hate brussell sprouts, but even they were good. Great ambience. Excellent value.

We recently went to Spencer's to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food there is always delicious and the service is attentive without being intrusive. We shared a kale Caesar salad. It was okay, but I found the kale flavour overpowered tHe dressing. I wouldn't choose this again. My husband had the burger, which he declared to be the best he's ever eaten. I had the pasta special, which was also delicious. Desserts were fantastic. An overall very pleasant experience.

Food was fabulous! Had the Yukon gold appetizer and steaks. Portions looked small, however everything was very filling. Side of half lobster tail/claw was VERY small. Spent $155 (with tax and tip) for 1 shared appetizer, 2 entrees and 2 ice teas, so it is definitely on the higher end price wise. The view of the lake makes it worth it. Venue was open and live musician was a nice added touch. Noise was horrific and had to repeat ourselves repeatedly, although this was no fault of the establishment. Were given a table by the window as requested and the service was very good. Waitress and waiter were attentive enough to feel taken care of but not at the table too much to feel bothered. Free champagne to celebrate my BFs 40th was thoughtful.

We went for our anniversary. We had a wonderful waitress who was very knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. Service was very good. The oysters lacked flavour and my husband's swordfish was put on a risotto base and the greens were very, very bitter which took away from the meal entirely and almost made in non-palatable. Our friends had steak which they said was very good. The chocolate dessert that the others had was very good but the cheese plate I received needed a microscope to find the cheese. We found it as noisy as a Il Fornello which was surprising considering it was a Sunday night.

We've been to Spencer's three times in the last year and have never been disappointed. The menu changes seasonally but the kale ceasar and the salmon tartare are my fav appetizers. The steaks are always cooked to our liking which can make or break my meal experience. This last meal I had the polenta wth king mushrooms - delicious! We will continue to bring friends and family here when they make the trek to Burlington and we want to treat them to a special meal. The view of the lake is always lovely, but even nicer as the sun goes down and the bridge lights come on.

The food was great and the views of the lake were amazing especially as I was able to get a booth overlooking the water as requested during my reservation. The only knock on them is the menu which had a steak item tagged as the "Chef's favourite" which was not available and the dessert menu was somewhat cryptic as it was unclear as to whether each item was cake, yogourt, salad or otherwise. Overall a great experience and would definitely visit them again.

I've been to Spencer's a few times prior to this (October 4th) & every time it's been an amazing experience. I live in Vaughan & have no problem traveling to Burlington for Spencer's. I highly recommend for a romantic dinner. The music inside the restaurant was a bit louder this time then usual, but it was busy, so maybe they were trying to drown out other people's voices. Still, louder than needed. There was a wedding reception at the time, we were not disturbed by it & the restaurant did a great job at making sure of that for the whole place. The food is always impeccable.

My family travelled from various cities in Niagara to dine at Spencer's for my 65th birthday. The hostess and waiter were great in helping us to be seated and allowing us to order as the group arrived at various times due to traffic delays. Our food arrived in timely fashion so that we were all eating together as the evening progressed. Everyone enjoyed the food presentation and taste. The servings were large. We will be back.

Our first visit, likely won't be our last. Our waiter (I think his name was Mac) was truly excellent and provided gratis flutes of champagne at the end of our meal to toast our 39th wedding anniversary. A surprising and much appreciated nice touch. As nice as the food and service was, it was of course the location that lent the most to our dining experience. The Burlington Teen Tour Band was practicing on the waterfront. The views over the water, dotted with sail and power boats, were outstanding and as the outside lights gradually came on and table candles were lit, the interior lighting was dimmed too. All in all a delightful experience - if a little pricey!

We were placed at the last window seat right by the door to patio and server station. This is the most undesirable location to be placed: servers whizzing by every 5 seconds slamming into each other, commotion, very loud. It was horrible. Our order came out wrong (gave me chicken dish while I ordered vegetarian pasta), had to wait to have my correct meal made and have my husband's put in the warmer to wait for me. Felt rushed, the place was a commotion, and our view was of a another couple 3 inches in front of us outside the window on the patio. For a special night out away from the kids it was an hour and half whirlwind that we will not be repeating, for the cost of the bill and overall disappointing experience.

We arrived and our table was ready, the waitress told us that they were closing the kitchen because they stopped serving lunch and the only items available were the starters and some salads without the option to add chicken, etc. I was so angry, my kids were hungry. We arrived passed 3 and they say in their website they serve lunch until 430, the policy of closing the kitchen one hour and a half before the time posted on their website is not clear. It was pricey for what they served us. When we went out, they were prepping for a wedding and the waiters were having an awesome hamburger, that was not available for us in the menu, we just felt they were short staffed and they were having other priorities.

The setting is really beautiful. I loved the modern building and was drawn to it because it's on the lake. It was an incredibly windy day when we were there but the patio was sheltered from the wind so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. The staff was friendly and the food was great. My sister and I are both Vegetarians so we had the pasta. It had eggplant in the dish so the only negative comment I would have is that I would have preferred that the eggplant been cooked a bit longer. Other than that everything was outstanding and I would definitely go back. It was worth the trip from Toronto for sure.

We joined another couple on a weeknight for dinner. We were greeted and seated promptly and our server came to the table to attend to us right away. We enjoyed our appetizers and main course. The halibut was cooked to perfection. Our server did not rush us, but was attentive. Prices were what one expects in this type of restaurant. The noise level was high, making conversation across the table almost impossible. This was not a big problem for us, but anyone wanted a nice quiet dinner would be disappointed.

Was it the fabulous view of Lake Ontario and the reflective pool from our window seat or was it the friendly and efficient wait staff or was it the great food served and cooked to perfection or was it the glass of champagne that welcomed us to our first experience at this restaurant? In any case it was truly an anniversary to remember (38 years by the way!). Thanks Spencer's! we'll be back for sure!

At first glance Spencer's is a beautiful restaurant with a scenic view of the lake. The ambiance is somewhat romantic with low lighting and pleasant decor. My partner had the Seafood bake which was lobster, clam and mussel served with potato and half of a corn with broth. I had the Butcher choice with mashed potatoes and mushroom. The steak was too fatty for my liking and it needed some more seasoning, it was a bit bland, but overall not a bad dish. We later had the chocolate cake which was really a small very extremely cooked brownie with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. The dessert for $11 was overpriced as well as the meals was exuberantly over priced for the quality of food we were served.

Loved the setting for the restaurant. Interior was warm and inviting. Aisles were too narrow. Noise level elevated quickly to where it was hard to carry on a conversation with someone right across the table from you. The electronic blinds to block the setting sun were impressive. The intimate booths might have also been placed at the window where the scenery could have been enjoyed more privately. Food portions were on the smallish size, but nicely presented. I really felt the food descriptions were pretentious to say the least and ridiculous that we had to have the dessert menu translated.

The restaurant is beautiful as is the views of the lake, but the price point is way out of line for the food quality. For example, $22 for adding lobster to a steak when the lobster was barely the size of an average shrimp. The $38 halibut was approximately 2 oz served with corn and very little else. The vegetables served with the steak (broccolini) couldn't be cut ever with a steak knife and the potatoes Au gratin were dry and flavorless. The restaurant wouldn't last a week in any other city but it seems to be the best in Burlington. The restaurant was seeming to try to hard to make its food fancy to justify the price point when it's quality was actually lower than better restaurants like the keg or canyon creek. I'd avoid this place.

We ordered two seafood dishes, the Mediterranean Seabass and the Salmon with Ricotta. The salmon tasted undercooked and the ricotta was awful. The entire dish lacked flavour. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It's a beautiful restaurant, it's a shame the food is not up to par.
