Diner Reviews
  • "The musical was fantastic. The food took a while to get to us. Would recommend starting courses earlier."

  • "What a great show! Thanks for the great holiday treat!"

  • "Our family enjoyed the terrific show and the delicious food served during the meal. Staff was very friendly and professional. The singers and dancers provided a show that was Broadway quality. It was a very enoyable evening and got everyone in the holiday spirit!"

  • "For local entertainment it was cute and enjoyable. It was not cheesy the singers had some stage experience so that was a pleasant surprise. Dessert was a little dry but tukey was moist and tasty. Overall a good experience. We sat with strangers so for those not extraverts may not be comfortable with a wedding style seating."

  • "I got my mom reservations for the dinner and show at Christmas for a gift. She said she really liked it. This is an easy, quick gift that anyone should love."

  • "Christmas in Chocolate Town show was great. Good song and dance. Decent food (though that's not the primary point of going, the show is)."

  • "Entertainment was excellent. The turkey was dry and tasteless, the salad was bland and the green beans were under cooked. Nothing special about the service, did not know until we were leaving that any other drink besides water, tea, coffee and punch was being offered. In addition Hershey is famous tor it's chocolate. But, the desert was dry and nothing more then what we could get at a grocery store. In the end we came more for the entertainment then the food anyway...so, overall experience was not bad."

  • "Overall theme was great, liked the fact that they had a kids menu (we had no small children in our party) - they started late, OK munches on table. It was over an hour and a half from sitting down before the salad was served, two before the main course arrived. Parents were out in the lobby wondering when the "dinner show" would ever start. We agreed! Food OK, like a large wedding (you could stand a spoon in the gravy) - show was great once it started - by then the kids were crying or on their way to sleep. Timing seemed the main issue -"

  • "It was a dinner and show. The show was poor, just a bunch of ok singers-dancers that seemed to be the same crew they have at Hershey Park. The Dinner was a "thanksgiving" menu. Turkey and corresponding fixings. Poor for the price."

  • "Entertaining high energy program, very enjoyable. Food was very disappointing for the price paid. Not up to the standards expected. Appetizers were skimpy. We attended this event two years ago, and were excited to go back again. However we (party of 6) came away unfulfilled. The meal was no better than you could get for 10 bucks at Bob Evans or Applebees."

  • "The wait staff service was very attentive and customer friendly. The show itself was entertaining and upbeat. The turkey was a little dry. The chocolate yule log was very dry and tasted stale. Not at all what you would expect coming from Hershey and/or Hershey chocolate."

  • "The show was nice. We were right up front which was good in some ways and not so good in others. I would have liked to have been one table back - I think I would have appreciated the show a bit more that way. The food was good and it was nice to have the cheese/cracker plate at the beginning. I think a complimentary glass of wine would have made the experience exceptional. We had a good server but she did not ask about a 2nd cup of coffee and I felt that the dessert time was rushed because of the show needing to start. All in all it was a pleasant evening."

  • "The Christmas Show was good however Hershey's attempt to save money on discarding the 30 minute "reception", replacing it with inexpensive cheese, salami and crackers scattered across our main table was border-line insulting. If they continue that practice next year we will not attend."

  • "Great dinner, great performance, great food, great service."

  • ""Christmas in Chocolate Town" was a wonderful way to start our Christmas celebration! Will become a new tradition in our family! Thank you, Hershey Lodge!"

  • "Very good show, food was good so was the service. Did a great job in making a large room (hall) cozy."

  • "We had a great time and the show was great~ The only issuse we had is that after I made the reservation I followed up with a call to the Lodge asking for a private table if possilble as my brother is developmentally challanged and has some hearing issues. We ended up at a full table even know there were three empty tables right next to us."

  • "This was not a table for 2, this was a group seating (seat yourself and get your own food). I was not happy with this set up, I imagined this was a romantic and private occasion for my wife and I. Why did we have to wait in line for 45 minutes to get to the front just to find out this was a walk around and plate your own food event? We wanted to be served and wanted a romantic experience... instead we left disappointed and found it impossible to get in anywhere else on a Saturday night. Thanks for nothing, I will never use this site for setting reservations again, TERRIBLE DESCRIPTION OF EVENT!"

  • "The cast was very talented - I highly recommend the special events to other families."

  • "Overall all everything was very good. However, our server was not very friendly and it as obvious to all of us at the table that she did not want to be bothered with extra things like getting any of us a bottle of wine. My husband and I have stayed at the hotel and attended the special event for several years now. This was the first year that we did so between Christmas and New Year's. We will NOT be doing this again. The place was way too crowded and there were yelling kids everywhere. They were running and yelling in the halls until 11:00 at night. Also every restaurant had a very long waiting list so we ended up going off-site to eat all our meals (except for the one included in the special event)."

  • "This was the third time we attended the "Christmas in Chocolate Town" Dinner and Musical. The first two times were very nice. I felt this third time was just an average experience. To begin, there were three different mix-ups in the reservations which was very frustrating for me. The food was the worst we ever had. Our server was very polite; however, he did not know a whole lot about the different drinks we were trying to order. Felt they should have separate bar servers & separate food servers. Felt it took way too long to get our drinks served to us. The only positive was that the musical was excellent!!! Other than that, I would not recommend the dinner at all. It is a shame we could not just get tix to see show & skip dinner."

  • "Though it appeared that the kids around had a nice time, at our table there was our 2-1/2 year old son along with 2 other toddlers in his age group. The structure of the show made it extremely difficult to keep them interested, past 1 hour. The show had way too many breaks and never seemed to change scenery. These gaps made it virtually impossible to keep our son in his seat- just as he got interested, there was a break in the performing. My wife and I had no choice, but to leave in the middle of the entree time. Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed with the whole evening- we were looking forward to dessert and will never know what we missed.."

  • "It was our first time visiting Hershey and my wife and I had a wonderful time!! We went to ZooAmerica- which was great, the Hershey Story, the Hershey Museum, took in the Christmas dinner show and saw the Hershey "Sweet Lights". We'd definitely recommend it for people who have never visited there before. The place takes on a magical air at Christmas!!"

  • "Great performance and thanks for the great table. The food was OK--no menu options."

  • "Great for family if looking for something to do during holiday season"

  • "Except for the show, the meal and restaurant and lodge were excellent. The show, was, er....a little too FLAMBOYANT for us. The actors were so effeminate that it was hard to watch. Especially the guy who played Santa Claus. It kind of weirded us out...especially since the kids were with us."

  • "Dear Sirs: We have been to your Christmas specials the last three years and we always looked forward to the next year. This year was different, we liked the pre event time in the foyer because of the access to the food but having this time at the table was not successful because because the food was not passed and you get tired and embarresed when you have to keep asking. The food seemed very generic as comparred to other years also. We both thought the entertainment was shorter and did not have the same quality. I am sorry for this review because we so look forward to your Christmas specials. Grant David"

  • "We were pleasantly surprised that the quality of the talent was much better than we expected. The food is always delicious at the Hershey Lodge and the Christmas decorations were amazing. We spent the night at the lodge for our Wedding Anniversary celebration."

  • "The entertainment was karaoke at best. The performers tried their hardest but the show was very commercial. If I had to hear once more how wonderful Chocolate Town was I was ready to walk out. More for LITTLE children than adults. We did enjoy our one drink at the Bear's Bar."

  • "My family and I went to the dinner show for the first time this past weekend. My husband and I were on line looking for an event to take my dad and stepmother to as a special Christmas treat and read about your dinner show. We were fortunate enough to have front row table, which worked out well since my dad is a little hard of hearing. They both enjoyed the dinner and the show. My sister and her husband were with us as well and they had good things to say about it too! I think all of us would be happy to make the trip from Chambersburg to Hershey again for the dinner and show. The lodge was decorated beautifully and we felt very festive in those surroundings."

  • "The carolers invited us to sing along if we knew the words. They actually hyped Hershey products in the 12 Days of Christmas. I thought that was tacky. The wait staff was wonderful and went out of their way to accommodate our every need. The food was horrible. It was hot enough, but the flavors were nasty. Sorry, but I won't do this again."

  • "The show was cute - we enjoyed it. The food was just ok."

  • "Although the show was very good, there was too much down time for the children. The show could have been going on during dinner."
    Dined on 12/2/2011
  • "Was very disappointed in Hors d'euvres selection and presentation. The show and the troupe were wonderful. Would have liked to have had more interaction with them."
    Dined on 11/27/2011
  • "I was recently in Hershey for a dinner show and it was spectacular!! It was about 3 hours plus in total. You were served a complete 4 course meal as well as unlimited soft drink and very friendly service. In addition there was a musical as well... and the performers were all incredible and very talented... They would have a career on BORADWAY!! The value of the show and diner is above and beyond what I expected. A+ to everyone involved. I can't wait to go back there again!!"

  • "For the price I was disappointed overall. Especially getting turkey the day after thanksgiving. Had I known in advance I would have not gone. The seating wasn't good and the show was fair."
    Dined on 11/25/2011
  • "The show should start sooner (during the meal). Otherwise it's too long especially for young children. The food was OK but could be much better."
