Despite being able to make a reservation on Open Table, the place wasn't open for lunch! My friend and I were greatly inconvenienced.

food and service were excellent but still has the look and feel of a coverted something else with decorative add ons. And still has the old signs from whatever it was on the outside! Hopefully it will get busier and develop a vibe that will overcome those obsticles.

Chef and owner were great and greeted us, even showed us the chorizo used in the paella and where they bought it (El Mambi Market, Glendale). Portions are very large! I'm glad that there is something different in Koreatown. 1) The Paella did not have the saffron flavor I was looking for, but it was delicious - even better the next day! The seafood was very fresh and not overcooked. 2) The lamb tagine was flavorful and not gamy. 3) The Algerian fried chicken was flavorful on the crust, but the meat itself wasn't. They need to brine it first. We should have ordered the duck confit tacos. 4) The decor and menu (paella, tagines, fideos - delicious but doesn't fit with menu) isn't really a gastropub -Feels like a hotel lobby in another cou

  • Food was great! We ordered

Food was great! We ordered paella, as recommended by many yelp reviewers. The dish was huge! Large enough for 4 people to share. The server was nice. However, he was the only server, so he was forgetful with small things like refilling water or checking on the table. He was literally running thru the restaurant between taking orders and sending them to the kitchen. The chef came out to greet us, which was a nice touch.
