A word from Spamps
Spamps is your destination for Steaks, Seafood and Sushi in downtown Conshohocken.

The menu was designed by the father/daughter team of Mike and Marcie Spampinato and the Sushi is created fresh daily by chefs from Japan

Behind our copper bar you will find top-shelf spirits, an assortment of microbrews, imports and premium draught beers and your favorite bottle of wine.

Every Friday and Saturday night we have a DJ and dancing starting at 10:00 p.m.

Weather permitting we also offer outdoor seating in The Grotto, where you dine, enjoy a cocktail and watch the game under the sun.

We also offer traditional Italian dining next door at Spampinato's, which features several private dining rooms.

We were there on a Sunday night. They were short staffed. Their was only one person waiting tables and working the door. The food service was extremely slow. The bar was out of several liqueurs. Every drink I ordered could t be made because they were out of the ingredients. I would go back but I don't think on a Sunday night.

My daughter had 8 girls for her 17th birthday party at Spamps. Most of us ordered there sushi. It was delicious and so fresh since there are TWO sushi chefs preparing our entrees. If you want you can even watch them prepare your meal. Staff was great and very attentive. We will be back!

I made and confirmed a reservation for 7:00pm on Sunday when I read that the kitchen was open till 10:00. My girlfriend and I went out to the restaurant and were even planning to enjoy a drink at the bar before dinner by arriving 15 minutes early. When we arrived the doors were locked the lights were off and all the bottles at the bar were covered by paper cones. I am a local and also in the restaurant business and I'm amazed that Spamps find confirmed reservations optional. I won't be returning and I'll be more that happy to tell my local foodie friends about my experience.

  • My wife and I were disappointed!

My wife and I have 2 little ones and its not very often we get a night out. This was out first and last experience at Spamps unless something changes. I have zero issues paying any amount for good food, service and ambiance and this one missed each one. It started right away having the wrong menus given to us literally 3 different times. We were the only people sitting down dining in the entire place for the first hour and a half! We wanted to sit near the fire and we weren't allowed as they said it was reserved? For who, there was literally nobody but us in the dining room! I ordered an expresso martini which was the worst that I have ever tasted. The food was well below average and we just wanted to leave at that point.

I went to Spamps before a several years ago. The food was amazing and the place was packed. This time we had a gift card so we went. I made a reservation for Saturday night since my experience before was this place gets real busy. When we arrived at 7pm, the place was dead. Not busy at all and certainly reservations were not needed. The food was really expensive and not good. I got the filet which I ate but I feel like you could get a better steak else where. The mashed potatoes really tasted like instant. They were presented really nicely and piped out in a pretty way on the plate but did not taste good. Such a shame how downhill this place went. It would have been better if we ate at the pizza place across the street.

I met a friend there for an early friday night dinner. We got there around 4:30 and were the first dining patrons. There were a few at the bar who seemed to be regulars. The host and waitress were extrememly attentive and nice. Our drinks were served quickly, as well as the specialty sushi rolls we ordered. Food was very good. We would definately return even though their sushi was a little on the pricey side.

Place needs "freshening up" eg bar stool cushions worn, walls need painting, all in all not near as "crisp" as when first opened. Had steak with vegs and mashed potatoes (Luke warm/cold). Rib eye good - over priced , but ok. Also tried sushi sampler- supermarket ones better. My guess is original owners gone and/or have moved on to other interests?

Our group of 8 enjoyed our dining experience. The service was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. The restaurant is beautiful with a large bar and nicely finished. There were still plenty of tables available on a Saturday evening. The food was very good. We highly recommend the steak and various sushi options.

The food was okay depending on what was ordered. The "special" caprese salad was overpriced at $12 and the tomatoes were orange and tasteless. In August, they should have been ripe and juicy! The special sushi roll was well received. Overall, i'd stick with something on the sushi menu or a basic sandwich. Service was really good however and pleasant.

Went for dinner (for the first time) with a good friend on a Thursday night. We each ordered a drink from the bar - their wine list is good and their beer selection is great. We each ordered a sushi roll for an appetizer. Mine was awful (almost no fish - all rice!), my dining companion said his was OK. Given the quality of the food for the price, we opt to skip dinner for fear we would be disappointed. We ordered a 2nd drink at the table and then headed to the bar. The bar is nice but very noisy. The possible reason for the poor quality of sushi on this night might have been that they were offering a free buffet for their anniversary and they had sushi rolls offered on it. Maybe the sushi chef was just too busy....

Brought a party of six here based on location, diverse menu and decent Open Table reviews. Also, we could get a last minute reservation for 6 on a Saturday night. Initial impression was NOT good. Bare bones decor, more people at the bar than at tables and the piped in music was old and loud. It also competed with a live karaoke singer. Yikes! Once seated we thought to have a drink and leave. Even made a late phone reservation elsewhere. Then our amazingly kind, never defensive waitress inquired about our concerns and went to Herculean efforts to make us happy, telling us how much they would like us to stay. The singer was stopped, the music turned way down and the drinks were great. Terrific food lollowed and a wonderful evening was had.

Upon arrival we waited several minutes to be greeted. When we were the hostess was rude. My fiancé ordered the clams casino soup and seafood penne ala vodka which he enjoyed. I ordered sushi and was disappointed. I've had much better and they did not have brown rice which I typically substitute in the rolls. Don't bother with dessert. We first got the apple crisp which was burnt and not warm. We sent that back & got the chocolate chip bread pudding. I took a bite and spit it out. The bill came & it was maddening because the food was overpriced, which would have been fine if it was delicious, but it was mediocre at best. On top of that, the dining area is right next to the bar, which was very loud. We aren't going back & I don't recommend.

I have been to Spamps on more than one occasion for lunch, but this may be the last time. The service was exceptionally slow this visit, and the restaurant is just dark and uninviting anymore. I ordered the spinach salad, after a dreadfully long wait for it to arrive, and was very unimpressed. Something has definitely changed.

My business companion always enjoys coming to Spamps when he visits our office. Spamps always provides good food and good service. While it doesn't dazzle, it doesn't disappoint either. I tried the ahi tuna burrito which sounded interesting. It was good, very filling and came with their signature homemade chips. The crab cakes and salads are all good options and you can't go wrong with their sushi either.

I partook in their Special 3-course dinner option: I chose a wedge salad (awesome!), steak frites (extraordinary!!), & the bread pudding (decent, although I'm not usually a fan). My boyfriend also got the steak frites, but enjoyed his w/the crab soup (spicy, good). We both LOVED the cut of the steak (like medallions) & the delicious blue cheese topping on it! They also have lots of enticing beer/cocktail options. On the downside, it was a little noisy in the bar area on a Thursday night -we chose a secluded booth in the corner so as not to be bothered by it as much. The regular menu prices are kind of high, but I'm sure you won't get a bad meal. The service was fast, polite, accommodating, & attentive but not overbearing. I recommend!!

We had a wonderful time at Spamps. My only critique was that the Surf & Turf sushi was too spicy. When you bit into it, the taste of the filet was great, but the lobster was way to hot and the after taste had my mouth on fire. Our lovely waitress, Melanie, was so kind to give me bread & olive oil which helped a lot. My husband loved his bouillabaisse and chorico appetizer. I loved my tuna martini appetizer. The highlight tho was the dessert which we shared, a peaches & cream creme brulee. I'd go back again just for that. We also greatly enjoyed the beer and drink selection. He enjoyed the Hop City and a very good Bloody Mary. I very much enjoyed my strawberry/peach cosmopolitan.
