Southport and IrvingCompletely SatisfiedI thought with Mother's Day this place would be crowded and unpleasant but I had a terrific brunch the staff was really friendly and the food was amazing. I can't wait to go back!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food!We tried the restaurant as it was highlighted on Open Table. We were pleasantly surprised with a nice environment and great food. Server was friendly but a bit slow in providing service. Fortunately we had time to spare. Overall it was a good experience and we will return.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foo & service, ok ambianceBoth the service and food were great. We were there for brunch and both the mimosas and bloody mary were fantastic. There were a couple of ambiance issues. Between the music, which I enjoyed, and the table almost directly on top of one another, it was a little loud and sometimes hard to hear a normal level conversation. We were there for a romantic birthday brunch so we found it hard to actually be romantic or hold a conversation that we would be comfortable with others hearing. The only other issue was with the hostess. She for some reason could not seem to get a grasp on what her job was. Multiple times she would yell at guests from across the room rather than greeting them and I had to give her my name for a reservation 5 times.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe needed a place to accommodateWe needed a place to accommodate a fairly large group (8 people plus a baby) for a surprise bridal shower and S&I was very helpful. The service could use some improvement - but I think the server was fairly new and not used to the brunch crowd yet. Other than that, the food and drink selection was fantastic, plus the prices were reasonable.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was sooooo good. The food was sooooo good. Service was amazing. Is a winner. This is a keeper in my book of eats.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were looking for a brunchWe were looking for a brunch spot on Easter Sunday and found Southport and Irving and what a great find it was! It's owned by the same people that own Broadway Cellars in Edgewater (which is a favorite place of ours) so we had high expectations and they delivered. Everything from the food, to the service to the brunch menu options were great. Highly recommend you considering them if you are looking for a great brunch spot.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved It. Go here.Loved S&I - decided to meet some friends out for dinner and basically just looked for a place between us. The food was amazing. Amazing, y'all. My wife got a chicken dish and I had braised short ribs. Plus we ordered the bacon brussel sprouts and some fries. All of it was so good. They were so friendly and welcoming to the four adults and our one year old daughter as well. It's not a "kid place" (so no need to worry for those of you without kids looking to avoid them) but you can definitely feel welcome with kids.
Go here. You won't be disappointed.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMI had a great time here. TheI had a great time here. The brunch special was great and the food was delicious.
