Great for those who enjoy the craft beer scene along with some great BBQ. The pork tenderloin is excellent. Service is very good, the interior is very "old world brewery" with hardwood floors, lots of glass and a brewery above your head (very cool to see). However, we went during "trivia night" and I have never understood the need to blast trivia questions out to an audience while that same audience is trying to eat and converse with their friends and family. At least there wasn't overly loud music.

Best BBQ in town at a reason all price point, plus a few southern favorites. Loved the shrimp and grits. Pulled pork with mustard BBQ is divine... sophisticated place for a BBQ and brew.

All 6 people in our party enjoyed the food and beer. We ordered an appetizer for the table that never came. When our meal was delivered, we asked about the appetizer and the response was "oh, do you still want it?" Our water glasses were not refilled after the initial glass. The server was obviously overwhelmed and the lack of attention and service showed.

We had planned to eat somewhere else but my husband wanted something more to his liking. A brewery was perfect for him. Upscale and fun. My 11 year old son enjoyed it too. They both had ribs, which were amazing. I had beef brisket, which was good. It had an interesting apple cider barbecue sauce. That was good with the meat, but strange with the sweet potatoes and green beans it was piled on top of. I'm not a big fan of food piling. I realized at some point that I had been there before, and had some outstanding shrimp and grits. It was a fun place and delightfully more casual than the other restaurants I've been dragging my family to this weekend.

We picked this resturant cause it had the BEST 'Charleston type' food selection for Resturant week. Not only was our meal fantastic, and our waiter very timely and polite, but the dessert... NEXT LEVEL amazing. The atmosphere was great, not to loud but not to quiet. Lighting was very romantic! Guys if you really wanna impress a lady take her here! Overall it was a fenominal experience. We will be visiting again.

Went there with family not sure what to accept. I heard mixed reviews. We all loved are food. It was pretty busy due to resturant week but they were on top of everything. Had reservations and walked in and was seated right away. They are kid friendly which is a bonus but great without a kid also. The food was AMAZING and local. Can't best that. It was served hot, correct and yummy.

I would definitely recommend making reservations at least the day before you plan to visit. They have a good atmosphere and it was very energetic as the evening went on. The food here is hardly even average here. A big clue should have been an empty restaurant when we arrived. My wife and i split the spicy shrimp app. and the bbq pizza and they both treated amazingly the same with way to much boring sauce on each. The other couple with us had the meatloaf and sirloin. They both came out looking pretty bad. Neither were overly impressed. And how can you call yourself a brewery with that pathetic list of beers. Even the one ale I tired was bad. The are plenty of other places nearby to try before going here. Oh, and they kept refilling my wife's drink with the wrong tea even when i asked them about it before they per it.

I took a girls trip to Charleston and I struggled finding a place that had a menu to please everyone, since my friends are picky eaters this was difficult! I decided to go with southend brewery and they did not disappoint! I had the beef brisket and one of my friends had the salmon, both were delicious! Everyone was pleased even the picky eaters. The prices are also very reasonable. I would definitely return.

The family went on busy evening after a long drive into Charleston. Everything was perfectly pleasant and good - nothing great. BBQ shrimp app would have been better if not breaded and fried. Boy's steak was solid. Girl's salmon was good. My BBQ platter was decent - ribs were fair; brisket was ok; pulled pork was best. Waitress wanted to get out because she didn't even offer dessert but just brought the check after cleaning our plates. Probably many better options but also worse.

We were on a family vacation and had driven into Charleston for the day. We wanted to have dinner somewhere low-key and teen-friendly. I had been here before on a previous trip and enjoyed the food and the atmosphere seemed right for teenagers, as well. Our server did a great job and the food was all very good. My husband said that the bbq platter was one of the best he had ever had. Southend is a solid choice for families and a great place to have a drink later in the evening. Highly recommended.

The atmosphere is that of a large, commercial bar which fits the downtown location. If you're into specialty brews, you will enjoy the variety offered here. They're attempting to offer a high end cuisine to keep up with the higher end restaurants in the area. However, they fall tremendously short...their expertise is definitely beer.

My fiancee was returning home (Savannah, GA) from her bridal shower (in MI) and her flight was getting in during early evening. I set up the reservation and added in the special comments section to have a split of champagne and a glass of bourbon ready for us when we arrived. It turned out there was a flight delay so I phoned ahead and they mentioned they would hold off on the drinks for us (in case we were late) so they wouldn't get warm. We were greeted and shown to our table upon arrival - drinks icy cold and ready to go. Dani (sp?), our server, was great during the whole evening. Overall a great experience and we'll be back then next time we're in Charleston.
