"This restaurant is really struggling. The senior staff have an uncooperative attitude and the junior staff are untrained. Sad. We have eaten in this restaurant many time, but will do so no longer."

"Not the right place for a business brunch - too quiet and the brunch buffet options, while presented beautifully, are not very conducive to impressing clients. Next time I'll just order a la carte. That being said, the almond croissant is pretty good. Service was attentive and kept on filling orange juice to my cup."

"Went here for the "pre-theater dinner". What a GREAT chef! The food was truly delicious and creative. The prices are very reasonable for such quality food. Wish we had scheduled more time for a longer dining experience at this restaurant. The location is great, right across from Central Park. We then walked to Lincoln Center for our concert. We will definitely return."

"this was really an unexpected delight ,

I wasn't sure what to expect from south gate restaurant , but it was absolutely fantastic. The vue of central park thru out this gigantic window was fantastic , the fire place , the music , the wine wall , everything was studied to the perfection ... we had a wonderful experience. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable , victoria was really adorable . The restaurant manager sofiane took the time to introduce himself and helped us with our choices , he suggested the veal chop witch i enjoyed and for my wife the scalops witch she loveded , to start we both had the mushroom soup ..after dinner we were curious about the place so the manager gave us a tour...thank you south gate for a great time..."
