A word from South Fork Grill
South Fork Grill is a casual friendly bistro style restaurant. We serve very fresh farm to table type food. We have a covered patio area that is loved by many & are known for our dessert case (all made by our in house pastry chef). We serve steak, seafood, pasta, burgers & vegetarian items. We are happy to modify to serve any allergies or special eating requests. The Executive Chef, David Belcher has over 25 years of serving quality dishes. The owners, Chris and Jodi are a Walla Walla couple often on site wondering around looking for good conversation & smiles on your face! SFG is popular with the locals & is located just outside the downtown area south of town. When making online reservations you are not able to request certain tables. If you would like to request patio tables or a certain spot, please check with the restaurant directly. And if we are showing no more availability online, we do have an expansive patio that still may have seating available for you.Continued

  • "We were disappointed with our food. My husband ordered prime rib, half of which was fat. The vegetables were too al dente for his taste. It is disappointing to spend almost $30 on an entree and only have half of the food be edible. I tried the fried chicken and enjoyed the spiciness of the coating. One piece was cooked well, but the other pieces were overcooked and dry. The side dishes were good, but nothing special. Overall, I think we enjoyed the bread and wine most of all."

  • "my husband and I ate there on a busy Saturday night. He ordered the steak and it was so thin, looked like a breakfast steak. they had prime rib as a special and we saw the next table over had ordered it but again, they cut it very thin. you don't serve steaks thin! we ordered the grilled Caesar salads, very disappointing as well. never got offered desert, but after the dinner had, we were not planning on it. will not be back, nor recommend to anyone."

  • "My wife and I went there for our anniversary. I had the Special (top sirloin w/ chimichurri), a bowl of french onion soup and grilled caesar salad. My wife had the New York steak w/ creamed spinach. Both of us ordered our steaks medium rare. Mine was medium rare but there was only enough chimichurri for one small bite. The onion soup was not bad, but the grilled caesar salad had NO flavor, I take that back, the one anchovy and the three olives had flavor. My wife's steak was maybe 1/3 inch thick and was cooked medium well/well done. The creamed spinach was watery and had NO flavor. The Black Beast dessert was the best part of the meal and went well with the Amavi wine. Overall, the main course was bland and not worth the $75 spent."

  • "My wife and I had our "one day late" Valentine's dinner at South Fork Grill. We knew that it would be a great night and it was. We both ordered an apple cranberry salad and the filet mignon. Both of our steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned and the mashed potatoes were excellent. We had a great night at a great restaurant!"

  • "Wasn't expecting much when I walked in...it seems quite small for indoor seating, but has more on the outside. The service was quite quick and they had bread/oil out to us within minutes. I heard the clam chowder was very good. Many in our group had steaks (one filet and two house special sirloins) which were excellent....perfectly prepared. I had their signature burger which was also excellent -- a hand formed patty, perfect medium rare, and fantastic bun. Save room for pie....a real treat and several options to choose from!"

  • "This being our second visit to Walla Walla, we opted to select a restaurant a bit outside of the immediate downtown area. Very friendly and prompt service. I had the salmon, and thought it was excellent. I do not recall exactly what my wife and daughter ordered, but I remember them both describing their meal as "very good". The display case was full of tasty looking desserts, but only my daughter ordered one (a pie), which she was very happy with. We dined on a Sunday, and made reservations, but might have gotten by without them. But, it is not a big place, so reservations are probably a good idea. I think that the value was a bit better than a similarly positioned restaurant downtown that we had eaten at previously."

  • "South Fork Grill Rocked! I was shocked and happy that I could book my reservation at South Fork Grill through Open Table for a party of 20. I was worried I'd get a call to cancel us. However, I only received confirmations. We ended up having 22 people and they added 2 more chairs without hesitation. The service was outstanding. We were immediately welcomed and made to feel at home. We had one server and she rocked it. I still can't figure out how she could be so attentive to 22 people. And she was so friendly and funny. She made it a fabulous experience."

  • "First trip to visit South Fork, and it was wonderful. They had a dinner pairing with Mackey Vineyards, four courses and four different wines. It started with a roasted beet salad, followed by a seafood appetizer, a generous portion of prime rib (cooked to perfection), ending with a pear tart. The food was outstanding, and the wines superb. It was a fantastic evening."

  • "As always the food was excellent. One big problem. I made reservations on line for 6 for outdoor table. Then to make sure I followed up with a phone call. I was assured patio seating was no problem. Arrived for dinner, guess what, no patio seating available. Employees could not explain. The restaurant did buy us an appetizer to help make up for the mistake but that seemed too little too late.Dining at South Fork is a good experience, the outdoor seating with nice weather is much preferred. Indoor dining area can feel cramped and it is very dark. Will definitely return at some point but was disappointed with the snafu."
