South City Kitchen ViningsGreat ChoiceAs always South City did great! we were there with a big group and we were very well taken care of and were seated right away. Food was great as always and it was a great place to sit and talk without having to yell over the noise level.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently Very Good!South City Kitchen delivers a wonderful meal and ambiance as usual!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMTaste of southern cookingI like to take out of town visitors to South City Kitchen. It provides a good taste of southern cuisine but with a twist - more interesting than other restaurants that offer southern cooking. Took a group of five for Sunday brunch. Two of my guests had the chicken and waffles. They both commented on how good the fried chicken tasted. I had the vegetable plate - loved the flavors of the roasted corn and tomatoes as well as the perfectly grilled asparagus. The staff was friendly but not intrusive.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent RestaurantReally enjoyed this reasurant. If I had to say anything negative the sauses were a bit over used.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMJuxtaposition diningThe cool urban industrial look of the restaurant is an interesting setting for some very creative down south food. The fried green tomatoes are a starter that promises good things to come, and they delivered.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistentAlways good food and service....great for out of town guests if want to try food with southern twist or if you live locally and want good eats with easy, nice, casual ambiance.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMSCK Serves up a Yummy Mom's BrunchGreat Southern Food prepared well in a pleasant setting.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day Special MenuFirst time at this restaurant and food flavors were excellent. Speed and quality of service were exactly what one could expect. Special Mothers Day Menu pricing was puzzling in that normal prices of the courses according to on-line menu are $10-$12 less than the $42/person charged.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFamily Celebration DiningWe had 6 adults and our service was excellent and the food (particularly the buttermilk fried chicken) was delicious. We would go again even though it was so noisy it squashed any real table conversation.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place!Food was great, and so was the service. We'll be back!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome FoodThe food was great! Service was wonderful and attentive. It was very noisy with the Kentucky Derby party in the bar.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good Dinner! We enjoyed our meal very much. The food was prepared perfectly and quite delicious. The wine list was ok - not remarkable. The dessert was ok too - I've made much better banana pudding. Would go again.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Vinings location attemptsThe Vinings location attempts to mirror the cooler loft-like atmosphere of the midtown location, with ultra-high ceilings, brick, and metal. Consequently the noise level is high, but the ambiance doesn't hit the right notes somehow. The food is great and the location is right for those in West Midtown, Austell, Vinings, and Smyrna. If you can't get to the location in Midtown or don't want to face traffic, it's a fabulous choice.
When we went, the wait staff was not as terrific as it usually is. The waiter's wine knowledge was mediocre at best and he seemed never be available when we wanted him. However, the food was delivered speedily and piping hot. All in all, it was a good experience and I'll definitely go back.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a great pick for businessThis is a great pick for business dinners. The servers know how to handle a crowd.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service was as weFood and service was as we have come to expect. We don't go here often but really like the fact that this is one of the few restaurants in our area that supports Open Hand. We have never been disappointed in the food or the service. We will return.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMbEST FRIED CHICKEN IN THEbEST FRIED CHICKEN IN THE SOUTH. Very good service and delicious food, although nothing was particularly inspired.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster Brunch Great!Four of us had a great Easter brunch at SCKV. Our table was ready when we arrived, and we were seated promptly in a nice section of the dining area. We each had different choices from their fixed Easter menu. All were delicious and appropriately served. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. Couldn't ask for more.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMInconsistent & DisappointingThis was my very first time to South City Vinings (Easter Brunch); I've been to Midtown. The food was very good, but I found it very inconsistent, particularly on the entree & dessert. Appetizers was good. Entree - both of us had the shrimp and grits. Aside from being a tiny amount, my friend had 8 glorious shrimp, I had only 6 -- I felt slighted. For dessert (peach cobbler)? Oh my. My friend had about 6 pieces of peaches, and no crust (topping) whatsoever, and I had all topping and 1 peach; both had a scoop of icecream the size of a teaspoon. I started to get our waitress, but my friend convinced me to just swap - what ended up being two tablespoons of peach dessert. Quite surprise for what seems like a classy restaurant.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place! We've been going to South City Kitchen Vinings for a few years on Thanksgiving and Easter. We really enjoy this restaurant.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGood choice any timeFriendly and attentive service from the hostess to the attentive wait staff! We had a reservation and were seated right away. Nathan waited on our table, who was the best you could hope for! The buttermilk chicken was delicious and served in large portions too! Modern decor and ample seating. Highly recommend!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGood eats!(Sorry Alton)Very nice atmosphere and a very creative southern menu. I had the Captain disk. Excellent!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMBest brunch ever! After hearing about this restaurant many times before I
figured I would try it as my post-church find. This was the best decision yet! I have gone to everal brunch spots in and around greater Atlanta and this restaurant was by far the best brunch spot I ever experienced. From great food to great service to an amazing ambience. They can't be beat! (I ordered the crab cake hash - all gold stars, and my bf ordered the pulled pork Benedict, also two thumbs up; peach Bellini is also a must have!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is an excellent restaurant; This is an excellent restaurant; I was introduced to the restaurant at its Atlanta location. Then I found out that there is one in Smyrna quite near where we live and it has become our favorite restaurant.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOur waitress was awesome. Our waitress was awesome. The cornbread they serve is so tasty. We especially loved the gouda fritters and the pimento cheese burger. The service was excellent as well. We will definitely be back soon.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat drinks, great service.Great drinks, great service. Going again next week!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMHaving eaten at the locationHaving eaten at the location in Midtown (and thinking that it was fantastic), I was looking forward to giving this location that was a little closer to home a shot. This did not disappoint. The menu between the two locations has some differences, and I think that the food at the Midtown location was a touch better, the food here was still quite good. I had the Georgia Trout, and while it was enjoyable, I found myself wishing I had ordered the Short Ribs my date ordered instead. The service was excellent though and gives them a slight bump in my overall opinion. If you're not looking to head downtown, this location is an excellent substitute.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMCity charm/no downtown hassle!I went with my husband, but this would be fine for families as well. Although the menu is not extensive, the food was delicious and prepared in an artful way. We enjoyed our meal and the ambiance, and our server gave us great advice on our selections. He knew the menu well!3/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe staff accommodated a largerThe staff accommodated a larger party than I had reserved and were very gracious in handling. This was a brunch and the food was good. Our waitress did an excellent job in handling our large group. Great place to go for a Sunday brunch.2/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
