A word from Souk at Trinity Groves
Souk is a Moroccan Bistro that offers Dallas a romantic dining experience along with an exotic atmosphere. Moroccan cuisine is extremely refined, thanks to Morocco's interactions and exchanges with other cultures and nations over the centuries. Moroccan cuisine has been subject to Berber, Moorish, and Arab influences. The cooks in the royal kitchens of Fes, Meknes, Marrakesh, Rabat and Tetouan refined it over the centuries and created the basis for what is known as Moroccan cuisine today. Souk is adding culture to the Dallas metroplex with its unique cuisine, music, and bazaar.Continued

  • "We are so glad we found Souk! Soooo yummy, and not too hard to be healthy! Great service, good drinks... Will definitely be back!"

  • "restaurant was very unique. service was excellent, our server recommended the sampler platter and it was very good. we were a party of 6 food came out very quick in fact too quick, kind of felt rushed with our meal we sat down at 730 and was finished by 830 overall we had a nice evening. bellydancer was fun as well."

  • "Great experience overall. My Berber Vegtable Tagine was very good but seemed to be about 70 yellow squash. I would have liked more of a mix. Lamb tagine and lemon-chicken were each very good, as was the chicken kabob. Hummas was excellent. Fun and energetic place. Music was a little loud. Service was excellent. My only recommendation is that each dish would be good for sharing as portions were huge! We over-ordered and took a lot of food home...not necessarily a bad thing."

  • "Service was almost non-existent. When we did receive service it was the waiter telling is that the bottle of wine we selected was out of stock and trying to sell us on the most expensive bottle. We waited 25 minutes for dessert and then canceled the order and got the check. A real disappointment - we will not be going back."

  • "The wine list was lacking. The sangria had too much cherry juice and was not good. However, the food was really good and I'll come back for that. The service was really good. I had the tangine chicken and will get that again. Others at the table had the chicken and beef kabobs and were pleased with their choice."

  • "The food was average to good. The service was atrocious. Dinner took over an hour and the waiter's overall service was spotty, bordering on bad. Best thing about this place was the belly dancer, for about 10 minutes. I do not recommend and will not return."

  • "Tried for the first time for an early Sat. dinner. My friend and I shared the Fez Beet Salad thinking it must be large since it's $13. It was good and the portion proved fine for 2 (my friend isn't a huge beet fan), but overpriced for what you receive. I had the Chicken Tangine, which was flavorful but the portion was almost half a chicken, which was difficult to cut off the bone since it's served in a bowl. I'd try something else if I go again. My friend had the Chicken Kebab and seemed to enjoy it. I would suggest the waiter remove the meat from the skewers when the plate is first brought to the table (done at other restaurants) as my friend burned her fingers after instinctively trying to move the metal skewers. Try at your own risk!"

  • "For first time guests you'll want to make certain you try the Souk platter. It contains a variety of Souk's Mezze & Spreads and its wonderful paired with a Strawberry Kiss or Cucumber Delight cocktail. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. My personal favorite on the platter is the Moroccan sweet tomato spread, it's delightful and perfect for summer nights."

  • "This place is wonderful! Service is fantastic and the food beyond wonderful. The cocktails are incredible and we all had a different one so we could taste each others drinks. We started off with the appetizer that had a little of everything they offered and we were not disappointed, fantastic. My husband had the lamb, I had the flat bread with merguez and harrisa that was wonderful. My daughter in law had a seafood pastry that was too good to be true and my son had the merquez entree that was great. We watched the belly dancer while enjoying our meal! Then we had the sampler dessert plate and it was to die for. They also have a hooka section outside. It was a wonderful evening!"

  • "Once I stepped into the restaurant, I felt on vacation... great atmosphere and experience that takes you someplace else. I recommend it for any occasion."

  • "Last year, we went to Morocco for vacation and had some great food. To relive the memories, we went to try Souk. The food is comparable to what you would get in Morocco. We had the chicken pastilla appetizer which had a light flaky phyllo crust with tender chicken and spices inside. Delicious. The lamb tagine was good, nice portion for the price. Lots of lamb and vegetables, although a bit on the dry side. Wish it had more au jus sauce and that it would have come in a traditional tagine pot. The dishes were well seasoned and flavorful. For dessert we had the Pomegranate cheesecake and the Kaab el Ghazal. Both were a nice finish to the meal. All in all a good experience and would definitely go back."

  • "Tried a new Middle Eastern place that was well worth the visit. The food , drinks, and value were excellent. Will definitely return. The only complaint is that the owner/mgr, not really sure who he was, was not very friendly or welcoming? I would think that newcomers would be welcomed & greeted by this person. He appeared to be either a mgr or owner, but not really sure because he never spoke to us or come over to make sure all was OK. The waiter was excellent & far more gracious than the silver haired pompous person. Bartender, young girl was extremely slow on the drinks, but they have a jalapeño-strawberry drink that was outstanding! Portions large & food was very tasty. Will return , but hope to have different people there"

  • "Food was very good. Beef Kabobs were a little over done, but the rest was great. Service was a bit slow and sporadic : We got our meals before we received our bar order !!!"

  • "Love Trinity Groves and want to try each restaurant. I was not expecting the food at Souk to be outstanding, but it was! Beautiful presentations, good selection, superb service. I highly recommend and I can't wait to go back!"

  • " We sat outside which was very nice. We had the Souk Platter for the first course which was the best part of the meal. The Fez Beet Salad and the Mediterranean salad were OK but small, 3-4 bitesbites and were $10 and $13. The flat bread was nothing to write home about. The real disappointment came with the entrees and dessert. We had the Arabic chicken Tagine which was half a chicken in a bowl of water soup little sauce, partially cooked potatoes and bland seasoning. The chicken shawarma was very dry and not like the shawarma I have had in other places in Dallas or my travels in the middle east. For dessert we had Baklava which was very dry. It was a disappointing evening."

  • "The guy recommends a Marrakesh Express when he seats you, but don't go for it as a first drink or at all. It's a really thick nectar-like juice with a little gin and spice and it will make you full before you eat anything. The Spice Trade is a much better option. Another disappointment is the tagines are not longer served in tagines, the serving size has gotten a lot bigger and exploration of tastes is not what it once was here. The first time I came here was a few weeks after it first opened, and I recently read a review saying that the food had steadied out after a change of chefs. I don't think I'll come back unless some things change again."

  • "I introduced a friend to Souk and she, being a vegan, loved it! They have multiple choices for vegans and she had the vegetable Tangine and loved it. I had a fig and arugula flatbread that was a little dry and too much bread. Previously they made it on a cracker thin flatbread which was better. I love Souk and have been there many times. I know they are going through transition with a new chef. I just hope they don't change the original menu too much!!!"

  • "This was my first visit to the Trinity Groves area. The food was good and the restaurant was nicely decorated. Server was not totally engaged after manager spoke to him while taking our order and he left before we finished ordering. We had to yell at him to get him to come back. Otherwise, he was very attentive. There are Mediterranean restaurants that I prefer closer to home that I would dine at before I would drive all the way to Trinity Groves,"

  • "I would recommend going and eating family style. The food was very good and it can be a hard choice. The atmosphere is loud due, but fun. The inside dining area is very small. After see the tables inside, I was glad we sat outside. The seats for the tables inside did not look like it would be comfortable to eat from."

  • "Had the lamb tagine and it was really, really delicious. Everyone in our party of 4 enjoyed their food. And our waitress was great and very helpful. Great place for lunch, just minutes from downtown across the MHH Bridge."

  • "This was our first trip to the Souk. Service and food was very good. We all had the lamb tagine. We would definitely come again. Only suggestion, the belly dancer made one appearance in the 3.5 hours we were their. So much for ambiance."

  • "Awesome Souk platter - much improved flavors over first visit! Qe had three different tagines -- all great!"

  • "This was our first trip to Souk and we enjoyed it very much. Food was very good and portions were a nice size; not overly large. Prices are reasonable. Moroccan wine was an excellent compliment to the meal. A very enjoyable dining experience. We ate outside which was fine except for a cadre of flies that seemed attracted to the Moroccan food as well. But they did not detract from the meal. Souk is a good fit for Trinity Groves and we will be dining there again."

  • "I've eaten many times at Souk. I've always had an excellent meal. The flavor palette lends itself to exotic flavors and unique combinations. The "Zalouk" (sp) that I've had before was particularly great the last time. So much so, I bought extra to take home, the smoky flavor and rich eqqplant texture was great. I had the Seafood Pastilla for dinner, but I think I might like it better as an app. The flavors and buttery phyllo dough were very rich and delicious, but I thought it was a little too much of a good thing. Yaser always makes it a pleasure to dine with the them."

  • "The overall of the viste is normal as the sea bass tajin wasnt good as we expect it to be cooked in morocca way as I tried it in Medina Dallas before which was fantastic. So if someone want to try sea bass should visit medina dallas first. "

  • "I went to Souk with a group of five people for a friend's birthday. We ordered drinks and the appetizer platter. We received the platter quickly, and managed to eat it all before we got our drinks. Our waitress was perfectly pleasant, but the bar was backed up. The restaurant manager was preoccupied with his iPad instead of helping out the bartender to get the drinks out faster. We would have liked to stay for food, because the appetizers were delicious, but didn't want to eat our entrees before we could get a drink."

  • "Terrible service. Waited 40 flipping minutes for a drink, then another 30 min for a second drink. Waiter just blamed it on a large outdoor party; I really don't care about yr large parties, u should have staff to handle whatever challenge comes yr way. Terrible. Won't return. "

  • "Loved Souk...very unique menu and excellent food. Wait staff are great, bartenders are very entertaining and knowledgeable. Downside is the seating is close to other nearby tables not allowing for much private conversation. Will definetly be back."

  • "I would definitely recommend reservations on the weekend as this is a popular restaurant. Our reservations were at 7pm and we were seated pretty much on time. The service was impeccable. Not only was our waitress enthusiastic, timely and personable; she was very knowledgable about the menu items, wine and background of the restaurant. Now...the food. The food was great. We had chicken kabobs and the lamb tangine. The meat was so tender and moist. The seasoning was delicious. The serving size was great. Not too big, not too small. Definitely recommend this place!"

  • "Bad service, it took 25 minutes to get our first drink and it was not busy. Server was unprofessional and said "f---ing bartender is slow" and complained about bartender to us, even though server was also terrible. Food not cooked to order, not everyone got their food, I had to wait for 15 minutes for my tough beef kebab after everyone already had their food. Another order went back overcooked. Bathrooms were dirty, water or something was on the floor. It was like staff did not want to work. Just poorly managed with lack of leadership and demand for professionalism from staff. 2 hours to get through dinner and it was nearly impossible to get 2 drinks during that time. Management did nothing to fix problems. Staff griping at each other"

  • "We were two couples having lunch, and it was our first visit. The hummus was the biggest hit. It was special!! I had the fig, goat cheese, arugula flatbread, and it was dry. The bread could have had more flavor. My husband had the lamb tagine and loved it. Our friends had the vegetarian tagine and a flatbread that they said was very good. We had donuts that were okay. I had hot tea with the donuts and the tea was special!! Our waitress was very helpful and fun."

  • "We enjoyed Souk. The sample appetizer platter was very yummy. The hummus in particular was great. Our table had four different mains, steak kabobs, chicken kabobs, sea bass tangine and lamb tangine. The sea bass was the best. It was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Lamb was also very good. Chicken was over cooked. Servers had tables inside and outside. This was annoying because waiters were all over the place and it was a little hard to flag ours down. We also ordered a houka after our meal, a fun experience, but had to wait a while for it to come. "

  • "Appetizers were good; but the Lamb stew I had was just average; a bit bland and the lamb was dry and flavorless. Service was slow and we had to ask for place settings. So loud inside that you really had to shout to hear."
