Sotto SottoA Very Special OccasionWe celebrated Mother's Day and had a great meal.
Both the veal chop and halibut were cooked perfectly and very flavorful!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent asThe food was excellent as always. My 14-year-old son originally turned up his nose at the pasta options as too "fussy" but ended up loving the Tortelli di MIchelangelo and the "priest strangler" pasta with ragu.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGlad to have come back...It's been some time since we've dined at Sotto Sotto. However, on our return we were pleased to find it packed with diners who all seemed to be enjoying each other and their dining experience. We had papardelle with duck ragu and the halibut...both prepared to perfection and delicious! After a bottle of wine with dinner, we had no room for dessert, but watched as the neighboring tables appeared to enjoyed theirs. We'll definitely not wait so long before coming back again.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food! - Sotto SottoThe food is great, very tasty. Everything on the menu is unique. Only wish the tables weren't so close to one another. I went with my boyfriend for a special night out. Our table for two got sandwiched in between two tables of four. Would have liked a bit more privacy.
But other than that the service was great and the food delicious. Can't complain!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMService was excellent. I'veService was excellent. I've had pasta, and veal which were excellent. My friend had the big steak. It was seasoned well but still a little tough. I recall most of the desserts having some kind of rum or liquor, I wanted dessert but didn't think the choices went well with my wine. Recommend adding a few simple items to the list.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Pasta! We order the 'first course" option of three pastas - Michelangelo, Duck Ragu and Mushroom. The pastas were the tastier, flavorful and good quality I've had a restaurant. We also had the veal chop which was well flavored and tender. Would highly recommend the restaurant as a very good Italian option in Atlanta.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and service!Everything was great. The naked ravioli, mushroom risotto, halibut, and beet salad were excellent. Not to forget, the chocolate soup was bursting with nutty and sweet flavors that satisfy the tastebuds. The service was exceptional, they were very patient and took care of us.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is really an exceptionalThis is really an exceptional gem of a restaurant. As New York as they come in the South. From host to server, very professional. The food divine.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experience againSotto Sotto was excellent 14yrs ago and still a fabulous place to spend an evening. The food and wine was excellent. Our waiter, Jeff, was very helpful and friendly which made our decision making easy. Thanks for a great evening!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMEnough! Enough! My wife, daughter and I ate at Sotto Sotto on a Friday evening. It was the daughter's pick. We were able to get a good time through Open Table on Friday morning.
We like to share several appetizers and entrees to taste as many things as possible. Everything was wonderfully prepared. We had an unusual savory strawberry risotto. It was very creative, unusual and tasty. It is the sort thing we go out to eat to try. We had some cured meat and cheese antipasta and a bottle of wine, Orvieto Classico from Umbria, to get warmed up. By the time Mista salads arrived, we were in full swing. We had two entrees for three, Tonno e Fagioli which is seared tuna and Salmone Arrosto which is salmon. Not too much butter on the fish. Just right.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and wonderful service.Great food and wonderful service. We truly enjoyed our evening.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Strong Flavors and ServiceSotto Sotto is always one of my favs and a place a recommend to anyone looking for authentic Italian food.
The service is always on point and it’s more quant than many restaurants with a smaller dining room with a touch of rustic decor yet modern.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is one of the best mealsThis is one of the best meals I have had anywhere (Italian or otherwise). The waiter was very very knowledgeable and made helpful suggestions regarding what to order and how to order (e.g., that half portions are available so you can sample more dishes). I would recommend Sotto Sotto to anyone and plan to go back myself.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat evening. The food and service at Sotto Sotto were excellent. We had the Risotto Mantecato, Halibut, and the Lasagnette alla Bolognese - all were simply done and delicious. Our server was knowledgeable without being pretentious, and attentive without hovering. My husband, niece, and I have been to a number of highly regarded restaurants in Atlanta in recent months. We all agreed we would readily come back to Sotto Sotto. A particularly nice surprise was the ambience. While the restaurant was close to full on the night we visited, the three of us could easily talk without yelling. And parking was easy in the valet lot across the street, though street parking seemed available.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMA FavoriteSotto Sotto is wonderful: the food is consistently terrific, the wine list is spectacular and the service is great. It is one of my favorite restaurants and I go there whenever I have a chance. They have converted the back patio into a very quiet, inviting and romantic outdoor dining space. That's a great addition to the restaurant and I love it!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWONDERFULAlways wonderful! The service staff is friendly and knowledgible. The food was well paced and full of flavor (even on a night when they were packed). Do yourselves a favor and make a reservation in this wonderful restaurant.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my 4th visit andThis was my 4th visit and the food and service were excellent again. Love this place!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSotto Sotto is simply theSotto Sotto is simply the best. The food is so good it is incomparable. And prices are so reasonable. We had mushroom tag and wood roasted chicken with Caesar salad, Just so perfect preparation and taste. While there are other excellent Italian restaurants in town, Sotto Sotto is just a step above in food and ambiance. We have had most of the entrees and apps at one time or another and never had anything that did not make us just rave. Panna cotta and mascarpone for dessert still have us drooling for more.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent setting with a greatExcellent setting with a great patio. Food was fantastic. Recommend the whole grilled fish which was flown in fresh from Greece. Very knowledgeable and friendly wait staff.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was superbThe food was superb matched by the service. We were lucky to get a seat on the patio. Inside was loud. Will definitely be back.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful in every way - friendlyWonderful in every way - friendly service, food couldn't be better, just the right amount of time between courses - not rushed but not delayed either.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite Italian in town,My favorite Italian in town, if not one of my favorites overall. They do pasta better than anyone in the ATL.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMBrought a larger group toBrought a larger group to Sotto Sotto for dinner on a Sunday. Food was very good, and service attentive. Such a plus that this gem is open on Sundays, as well... it's a great spot for a good Italian meal.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent dinner and serviceExcellent dinner and service allways!
We orderd Caesar Salad, Spaghetti del Pescatore, Risotto ai Fungh, Bistecca di Manzo(Ribeye) that were perfect combinations for us. Specially the Ribeye's baking condition was perfect that was crunchy outside and juicy inside. I think many of steak restaurants should larn how to make it from Sotto Sotto. Also we orderd panna cotta was excellent. I believe they have great selections with dessert too. Oh I forgot to tell you they have great selection of italian wine list too. I think their menue seems very simple but there are selective food and wine lists.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Italian!Love this place. I also love that they offer small plate versions of their entrees. It is a great option when you want a to try a few options. Their risotto and naked ravioli are amazing!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAtlanta FindDrinks, appetizers, wine list, Veal Chop, pasta, cordials were incredible! Loved it!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible find! AmazingIncredible find! Amazing Italian Wine List. Scallops appetizer is best I've ever had. Beet Salads were delicious, and the entrees - Salmon and Steak were both unforgettable. And the bread pudding - mmmmmmm!!! Can't wait to return to Sotto Sotto another time. Well worth the easy drive from Roswell.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent, but ourFood was excellent, but our waiter (Jeff) was terrific! He was great to recommend things and even brought us a sample of their parmesan cheese to illustrate the freshness of the cheese in the risotto. We went with his recommendations and were not disappointed.
Interesting decor -- walls looked like concrete with stain/paint. Looked like there was a nice outside dining area as well.
Tables were a little too close for my comfort, but fortunately we were there early (before 6pm) and not all the tables were filled.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent choice of very interestinExcellent choice of very interesting preparations with good flavor.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMy new favorite Italian restaurant! My new favorite Italian restaurant! The risotto ai funghi and halibut acqua pazza are definitely worth a return trip! Also great wine selection.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful, BeautifulWe had a wonderful experience at Soto, Soto. I'd been there before but my sister and brother-in-law had not. My sister especially raved about everythng. It was a completely beautiful experience. We loved the staff. The canned music that played in the background was all very tastefully chosen. You hear canned music everywhere now but I am not a fan of it, however tastefully chosen it is. So this comment has nothing to do with Soto, Soto. I just need to speak up against canned music in restaurants wherever I find it. Theirs was, as I said, tastefully chosen--but a bit loud.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the food and coming onLove the food and coming on week nights is great because I feel the tables are too close for comfort when the restaurant is full.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAtlanta's BestOne of Atlanta's best. The mushroom tagliatelle is simply amazing.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMHow nice of the people atHow nice of the people at Wisteria to send us to Sotto Sotto or we might have never eaten here while in Atlanta. The restaurant is understated, tables are a bit tight, but all the better to talk with other diners about their meal. The Antipasto misto was a great value for the price, fun, filling if you like cured meats and cheeses. My husband and I opted for pasta entrees and without a doubt his lasagnette (Sotto's version of lasagne) was the best we have ever had anywhere. I could not make up my mind. Pasta or risotto? So our very nice waiter suggested small portions of each. Two seperate plates: frutti di mare ristto sublime along with a meat stuffed pasts in sage brown butter. Delicioso!! We can't wait to eat at Sotto Sotto again1/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food and great serviceGood food and great service in a chic, intimate dining venue. Tables are close together reminiscent of NYC eateries providing a very cosmopolitan atmosphere.1/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
