  • "America Italian food rarely resembles the quality of food that one finds in Italy. Sotto Sotto is an exception. Every dish that we had was excellent. Ingredients were top quality, preparations creative, portions appropriate, and each dish a delight. We had two excellent appetizers: tuna carpaccio and steamed clams. They were both spicy and delicious. The bread and olive oil would make any restaurant proud. The whole steamed fish was simple and exactly what we would be served at a first rate coastal city in Italy. I wish that I could get food like this in the city that I live."

  • "The few times I've been here, I've never walked away disappointed. I usually get one of their homemade pastas. This time I ordered the pasta with a savory duck meat sauce and it was excellent. Two let-downs: the Caesar salad was mediocre at best with way too much dressing, and bland at that. The other thing is, if you are a party of two, you'll most likely end up at a table against the wall where they've lined up WAY too many tables, ending up with tables too close together for comfort, so close in fact that when the next table had their fish served and the waiter fileted and served it for them, his deriere was right pushed up against my wife's arm. Other than that, a real gem."

  • "I visited Sotto Sotto twice in the past 2 weeks and both times it was excellent in terms of food and service. One of my favorites is the Strozzapreti Alla Salsiccia - handmade pasta with a tomato-based sauce with sweet Italian sausage. The wine list, which is all Italian wines, is organized by region - and the waitstaff are very knowledgeable about the wines. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta."

  • "We went during Inman Park Restaurant Week, so the place was crowded. I also thought the service was a bit more casual than usual. The food (I had the "priest strangler" pasta with sweet sausage ragu) was outstanding. We all had the warm chocolate soup for dessert. One of my friends admitted, "Every time I order a different dessert, I am envious of your chocolate soup." So, just order the chocolate soup!"

  • "Unfortunately the tone was set for the evening when the host ignored us when we entered in favor of his cell. While the wait staff was friendly through the remainder of the evening, we somehow lost our original waiter 1/2 way through service, with no explanation. Fortunately he was replaced by an equally friendly and efficient waiter. The food was OK. Bread was served cold. My kids enjoyed their "deconstructed" lasagna. However my asparagus risotto was very one note. While the risotto and asparagus were cooked perfectly, that's all that was in the dish. Therefore each bite was the same as the last. Simplicity is a fine thing... until it gets boring. Overall an ok experience, but nothing worth returning for."

  • "We walked in to Sotto Sotto at 10:45pm, we were the only ones and they patiently served us through midnight, not once did we feel rushed. The food was great, very fresh and did not disappoint. The oven fired fish was expertly de-boned and prepared tableside, and was cooked to perfection."

  • "During a two night visit to Atlanta, we searched carefully for special restaurants and chose Sotto Sotto the first night. By the time we decided to book the reservation, the selections were slim so 6:00 was chosen. We later learned that it was Restaurant Week so there were lots of reservations at this spot. The menu was full of great choices including two prix-fixe options. I had a delicious halibut dish and my husband had a wonderful ragu. We were very happy with our wine selections (we don't know much about Italian wines but were given good advice). Both appetizers were tasty and the recommended bread pudding for dessert was devoured! We would visit Sotto Sotto again."

  • "My husband and I had a great dinner sitting outside on the patio Saturday night! The weather was beautiful, the wait staff was helpful and efficient, and the food was excellent. They also deserve a shout out for letting us arrive a little late! Traffic was heavier than we thought and we kept them posted on where we were but they never canceled our reservation! We thought the bill was very reasonable for drinks, appetizers, pasta dinners, and dessert and coffee!!! We will definitely go back!"

  • "We took advantage of Inman Park's Restaurant week and enjoyed Sotto Sotto. It had been awhile since we had been there and we were not disappointed. Everything was delicious and it was so nice to enjoy the patio on a beautiful Spring evening. My daughter had the "Priest's strangler" pasta and I had the Vongole pasta. My only comment for improvement was the Vongole had to many tomatoes and needed a little more peppers. We even asked for some non-alcoholic cocktail options and the bartender and server came up with a great creation. Overall, the meal was delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful. We would highly recommend Sotto Sotto when you want fresh, delicious pasta."

  • "Perhaps it's because we went during Inman Park Restaurant Week, but this place didn't even live up to the reduced prices. The service was mediocre, with the waiter barely looking at us, being incredibly inattentive, and spilling things on our table. The food selection was okay but the only thing that stood out was the chocolate soup. Everything else was just okay. My seared tuna had no sear to it, the steak was tough and stringy, and the bread pudding was really dry. Nothing was inedible, but none of it was very good."

  • "It was out 43rd wedding anniversary and we went during restaurant week. The server was very attentive as we ate in the back garden area. I will have to say that the food was the best Italian I have eaten. We shared the Bufala e Peperoi antipasti and I had the Tortelli di Michelangelo paste. We spent 10 days in Italy this past fall touring, eating the food and drinking great Italian wines. By far, Sotto Sotto's experience made us feel we were back in Italy!"

  • "We paid to eat at Sotto Sotto, not the loft in Fritti. The ambiance did not compare, especially with poppy R&B music playing in the backgroud. The appetizers were tiny and the fava bean dish was bland. The pasta wasn't good enough to make up for the small portions. The "Chocolate Soup" was like eating syrup with a few crunchy things in it. I realize it was Restaurant Week, but I thought the point was to try & get you to come back. They definitely failed at that. The only positive was the tortellini and the great service."

  • "Ordered the fava beans + pecorino app, duck ragu, and chocolate soup. Disappointed to see that the fava beans were a few sprinkles of beans with chunks of cheese. the beans were fresh, but the dish left something to be desired. The duck ragu was very good. Chocolate soup was delicious but portion was small - not more than a few spoonfuls. I don't expect to leave every restaurant stuffed, but I am a fairly petite woman and wasn't full entirely at the end of the meal. The 200# male in our group was definitely left wanting more. In terms of service, my friends felt the service was lacking (and one of us worked in fine dining food service and has worked restaurant week in DC). No wine menu, no extra bread until asked."

  • "I took my significant other here for his 30th birthday and it was a great setting for the occasion. Both the food and service were excellent. All of the First courses can be ordered in Appetizer portions which are slightly larger than half and slightly cheaper. Since this was our first time there we opted to do this so ordered the Risotto with 12yr balsamic, and the butternut squash and sweet potato ravioli. Both were incredible though I favored the second one most. For dinner I ordered the Halibut which was good, not the best I have had but not bad by any measure. It served over a piece of bread which I thought was generic for such a nice restaurant. He ordered the Ribeye which was enormous and served with potatoes. I will return!!"

  • "We had to wait because some tables had already paid but decided to linger longer than people should on a weekend.The mangers could not have been more accommodating to please us. It was my husbands birthday and they surprised us with some special treats to make sure we had a great nite. Does not happen that way in most restaurants thank you thank you!!!!"

  • "Booked a table and upon arrival had to wait 15min at the crowded bar. When taken to the table, we discovered it was outdoor on the back terrace. Since I never asked for outdoor dining, I did not bring a coat and temperature was chilly. Issue is there were 4 heaters for the whole terrace and the one next to our table was not working...no spare heater made the dinner a bit uncomfortable. Good service, fresh carpaccio, home made exquisite raviolis (portion rather small for both) and juicy lemon chicken (not felt the taste of lemon though). Cosy atmosphere, love the place. Will definitely come back !"
