  • "For us, this is the best Italian restaurant in Atlanta. We sat on the patio which is more private. The indoor seating is a little crowded and the noise level there is high. The food was outstanding. I recommend that scallop appetizer and any of the pastas. The service was attentive too. The risottos are great too, but heavier than the pastas. In fact these dishes are so good that i have not tried yet any of the main dishes. There are plenty of interesting wines to choose from and the servers are happy to recommend some."

  • "First, let me say that I have been to many different resturants in Atlanta at the top of the food scene. This was maybbe my 10th time dining at Sotto Sotto and I am always impressed with the quality of the food, the competence of the wait staff and the wine recommendations. I was here for my partner's stepmother's birthday and they supplementted our meal with champagne and chocloate soup for her-which was a very nice and accommodating surprise. I was very impressed. Also, everybody in the group loved the idea of getting two small dishes, what they term 'first-course size', of two different selections to try them out. Everything on the menu is wonderful and must be tried."

  • "Sotto Sotto is consistently one of my favorite places to dine when craving pasta or risotto, theirs seems to have a certain quality and attention to detail that I have not found elsewhere in the city. Although the food is excellent it never fails that some member of the staff will rub me the wrong way during our dining experience and because of this we only occasionally frequent the restaurant. A little bit of personality and customer service would go a long way to cement the experience."

  • "Service was a disappointment. From getting seated to table serving. Seating is very close together so it's a little awkward. Food was "good" but over priced. I would definitely choose other fine Italian eateries in Atlanta. Boca Al Lupo has maybe just outshines this place so much, I was very underwhelmed with sotto sotto and was expecting much more since there is a lot of hype."

  • "We live in San Francisco and are very used to good food here, but what surprised us most about Atlanta is how many great restaurants there are. Sotto Sotto is one of those great restaurants. We had their deconstructed lasagna, which shouldn't really be called a lasagna but it doesn't matter what they call it, it's delicious. Also, their sea food risotto was really great, but they did need to cook the seafood another 30 seconds. Slightly too rare for our tastes, but that was the only mis-step in the entire meal. Great service, great atmosphere, good food. What else is there?"

  • "The location is a little hard to locate because the signage and building. If you don't know the "logo" its hard to deceipher which building it's in. Valet is on the back side of the building which makes it easy to get in and out in the small tight corners of Inman Park. Valet is complementary so a tip is necessary! Our waitress was Jenni-she was spot on until the end. She remembered why we were there at the end by honoring my guest on her retirement. We had the Bufalae e Peperoni, the Mista to begin our meal. Wonderful! My guest had 2 small pasta dishes and I had the Polletto al Limone. Perfect & the chicken was moist and tasty. Excellent wine selection and atmosphere. We arrived early it was quiet but its was loud when we left."

  • "Antipasto for two was excellent with fine quality meats and cheeses. We had the "Priest strangler" pasta entree, the pasta was handmade and delicious, the unique sauce was excellent. My wife is 100% Italian and I am 50%, we are familiar with authentic Italian food. Soto Soto is an authentic Italian restaurant. The location and atmosphere however do not equal this high quality restaurant."

  • "Sotto Sotto is the best Italian food in Atlanta and my favorite place for a romantic evening. The scallop appetizers melt in your mouth, beet salad is bright and delicious. I've had most of the pasta dishes on the menu and there isn't a dog among them. Personal recommendations are the mushrooms and the duck ragu dishes. Doesn't matter what you order - you won't be disappointed."

  • "Sotto Sotto used to be one of my favorites. The other night, it was way off. It felt like there was no management or expeditor in the place. In the fava and pecorino dish, the fava were way too huge and utterly flavorless -- something that aught never to be used unless it is perfect (they never would've used such bad fava into a dish at, say, Daniel in New York). Waiter never asked how it was so we didn't bring it up. Next, my partner order a small risotto for primi and a small pasta for second. The waiter brought them out at the same time, so my partner had two hot plates of food in front of him at once. Huge error on the part of the staff. Ask if you're not sure. That's just common sense, guys."

  • "Pablo was our waiter. Although he refrained from introducing himself to us, he was prompt and professional. After telling us who he was, and that he was not just passing through, but there to serve us, he really shined. We tried the scallops appetizer, which was everything one could hope for. My husband had the salmon over arugula w/blk rice, wow!!! He couldn't speak. Just divine! I had the whole fish, which was wood grilled to perfection. Kudos to the Chef! My 9 year craved a Caesar salad, and yes, it was all she expected. Pablo even brought her extra cheese...we further indulged by adding the housemade pasta. Looonnngg story, short...we will be going back soon. Thanks for your recommendations Pablo!!!!"

  • "From the maître d' to the bartender to the waitstaff all were excellent and professional at the jobs. Although was a Friday evening in there pretty busy on Fridays the waiter suggested to come back again and visit on Monday Tuesday or Wednesday when it's a little more relaxed atmosphere. An added bonus because the area is so tight with parking they do have valet parking. It was a wonderful experience and I do intend to try it again doing a weekday."

  • "My only recommendation is to possibly add some additional guidance to the wine list for the more novice, but very interested, customer. With the entire menu listed in Italian, if you don't have a reason to already know a lot about the wines on the list or recognize the names, it's fairly difficult to navigate. This of course can be solved by a great Som but we mostly just dealt directly with our waiter who seemed new and fairly nervous in dealing with me and my date. So I guess it's one or the other, simplification / guidance within the menu or a better recommendation experience."

  • "This was our fourth time at Sotto Sotto, celebrating a graduation in our family. The bottom line is absolute perfection in every way. The mushroom risotto is a highlight, but everything on the menu is terrific. If you go, request a table outside. It's an unexpected oasis that defies the neighborhood."

It's small and a bit noisy with closely spaced tables so plan on sharing your conversation with the table next to you! There's a courtyard out back with more room but it was a bit chilly the night that we were there. Next trip I plan on reserving a table in the courtyard."

  • "This is still my favorite restaurant in all of Atlanta! We took some out of town family on a Saturday night and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious as always and our sever, Terrence, was awesome. He perfectly recommended a bottle of wine within the price point we indicated and gave us great, attentive service the entire meal. Everything we had from their pastas made in-house to the AMAZING veal chop we ordered was just spectacular. I would recommend this place to anyone in a heart beat!"

The only downside is that the very noisy dining room is rather packed -- your neighbors at the next table may just be inches away. As a result, it's not the most quiet or intimate for a romantic night, despite the cozy food."

The owner, Riccardo, is meticulous in delivering a wonderful dining experience - something that has been his mark of excellence since opening many years ago. He was visible in the kitchen the night we dined making sure everything was extraordinary. If you can't go to Italy for diner on a weekend, this place is as close as you can get. (That includes the bigger cities of New York and Boston - the ones with big Italian populations) Well done Riccardo - again!"
