Sotto CinqueI looooved Sotto Cinque!Definitely a "gem" though I don't live in the neighborhood I'm always more than happy to venture away from mine & I do have several friends who live on the UES, so I knew Sotto Cinque existed & wanted to patronize an UES establishment during "Second Ave. Retail & Resturant Week". Unfortunately we chose another major stormy night to do so--however we persevered. One friend didn't make it & we'd already ordered for him, so we brought him his dinner & though he re-heated it at home, he enjoyed his pasta!

They recently changed their menu and I've noticed that some of the portions are smaller. Tonight it was too noisy and we had to raise our voices to hear each other from across the table. That's not great. Our waiter, who is new and who we had once before, always seems impatient even though he puts on a good facade. Our waitor, seemingly new, was impatient and not knowledgeable about the menu. When asked questions, he did not offer to find out... we had to ask him to do that.
