I can not say enough good about this resturant. When we arrived, it was like we were expected with anticipation. Our table was as requested, very romantic and the flowers were on the table. The servers were outstanding. They were there when needed but did not hover. The food was to die for. The appitiser was delicious and unique. My veal chop was the best I have ever had. Fork tender but cooked medium as I asked. The desert was on the house because we were celebrating my birthday and it was excellent. The live piano in the background rounded out one of the finest meals I have ever had. They recently refurbished and to my dismay and our tables the gentle piano playing and the relaxation has been gratly diminished by the addition of extra tables-vastly making the quitet refined atmosphere a little less enjoyable--We will go again but thenoise level was either a rowdy crod or crowded tables-each of which was filled--we will try a week night but just beware of the racket on Saturday. This meal was fantastic and I could not put a dent in all. Sergio and Luis were great attendants. Trey the manager made me feel at home. The noise level is very low. The live piano players adds the finishing touch. The wait staff provide exceptional service. Very well paced and relaxed. This is complemented by excellent food. As well as the food being excellent, the presentation is great. There is a very broad wine list to suit all tastes. The sommelier recommended the perfect wine for our dinners. The food was good to very good, but not up to their usual "excellent" rating. We went for the early bird seating, and felt rushed through dinner. Some of the dishes were not served as warm as they should have been, which resulted in the flavors not truly coming through properly. I mentioned this to our server, who told the manager, who apologized profusely, and then offered a pair of complimentary after-dinner limoncellos. My wife opted for a coffee instead, and I took a grappa instead, so we were very satisfied. Our expectations for NYE are low, regardless of where we dine, so this actually exceeded expectations, but was not up to their usual.12/31/2012 12:00:00 AMThis was Morgan's choice forThis was Morgan's choice for her birthday celebration dinner, and the experience was excellent. The wait staff was courteous, friendly and attentive and immediately intervened when one filet steak that had been ordered "medium" came to the table "well done"-- that item was replaced and the charge removed from the bill. Entrees ordered by other guests were mainly superb, although one guest noted that her sea bass was somewhat over-salted. As always, Sorrento's wine selection is both diverse and excellent, and the desserts were properly decadent.
