Sorrentino's DowntownNicely SurprisedWe went here for our anniversary and went early on a Friday. The server was excellent, very formal yet friendly and accommodating. My wife had the butternut squash ravioli and I had the veal. The butternut squash was very tasty, went with the full order. My veal had very unique flavours, a mix of subtle and very strong. So the occasional bite had very strong lemon kicks, but if you got the ratio's right between the risotto and veal your taste buds were rewarded.
They ended off our evening with a surprise tiramisu and a sparkler, that really brightened up our experience and was a very nice gesture.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic meal and service.I highly recommend this lovely restaurant. The food was fantastic as was the service.
One small irritation was some of the music was - in my opinion - not suited for the crowd that was there. But it was
turned quite low so not really anything to be concerned with.
I really liked the idea of assembling a personal appetizer plate from a suggested list. Great idea!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent service, MaîtreExcellent service, Maître de is one of the best that I've seen, walks the floor and makes sure that the customers are looked after.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA touch of classMy wife and I recently had the pleasure to have a meal at Sorrentino's. The service was polite, curteous and knowledgable of the wines and dishes that were available. Our food was prepared and served promptly. Extremely flavourful without being overpowering, a wonderful medly of texture, taste and auroma. We recently ate at the Crappre (also downtown) and in the past we have enjoyed the imtimate atmosphere and classic food but comparing the two I would pick Sorrentino's everytime.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently amazing!!!Everytime I go to Sorrentino's Downtown the food and service is fantastic and this weekend was no exception. The restaurant was very busy (with at least 3 big groups that I could see) and Manager Christine Scheetz and her team provided flawless service. My husband and I each had an antipasti course (beef carpaccio and the garlic tastings plate with bruchetta, calamari and prawns) and it was very good. For dinner my husband had the ravioli on the garlic menu and said it was the best pasta he has ever had. I had the Spagetti carbonara from the regular menu and loved it. I swear it is the best spagetti carbonara in the city. I would highly recommend trying out Sorrentino's Downtown if you have the chance.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMa first rate experince fooda first rate experince food outstanding it is a great place for theatre or symphony will come back often5/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
