  • "I am from Indy and always try to make it to Sorin's when in South Bend. Always great food and love being on campus. Much beeter than the choices at Eddie Street Commons area."

  • "Took our 9 year old granddaughter out for a special dinner for having all A's on her report card for the third year in a row. Food was great and service was excellent. All the staff was wonderful to our granddaughter when they heard why she was at dinner with us. Very positive experience for all of us. Looking forward to having her Notre Dame graduation dinner at Sorin's in a few more years!!"

  • "I haven't seen the new Sorin's since the re-opening of the Morris Inn last summer. The renovation was done very nicely. The staff and service could not have been nicer. We enjoyed our brunch very much."

  • "The food was outstanding. The wine was outstanding with a special emphasis on vineyards owned by ND grads. (Nice touch) The decor was bright and airy. I would not hesitate to return with my wife for another special occasion."

  • "We were staying at the Morris Inn, during our son's soccer camp at Notre Dame. We with a 15 yr old son who plays soccer year round, dont get a lot of oppurtunities to have a date night alone. So we took this oppurtunity to make reservations at Sorin's for our dinner. The food there was excellent! I am a lover of steak and ordered the ribeye, and it didnt disappoint! I often eat my steak with A1 steak sauce and only twice now was I able to eat a steak without A1 (once in St. Louis and then at Sorin's) so compliments to our chef!"

  • "I have dined at Sorin's many times. The food is excellent and beautifully presented, our pre-dinner cocktails were perfectly prepared. The servers are helpful, friendly, and attentive but not smothering. I take out of town guests to Sorin's when they visit every year, and they look forward to it. I highly recommend Sorin's"

  • "The food has always been excellent. The Dover Sole excels! We only go in the evening, because we want a quiet, peaceful child-free environment."

  • "Sorin's is a lovely, quietly elegant restaurant. Beautiful ambiance, attentive service, delicious food selection. A bit more expensive than several other options in the area, but a very nice place for a special dinner."

  • "Second try for lunch, waitress pleasant, service good, but so slow! Not good if you are on timed lunch. Found was ok, polenta salad was bland, chicken salad, average."

  • "Used Open Book to reserve a table for 6 at Sorin's for a business breakfast meeting. Went exceptionally well, loved the free valet and excellent service and the breakfast menu is shockingly well priced! Will definitely visit again"

  • "I tried for two days to call Sorins and was unable to reach a person or make a reservation except through OpenTable. I will NOT go to this extreme again. IF you want my money or my time, do not make it so difficult. VoiceMail would have been fine if they could not answer the silly phone but letting it ring for 5-10 minutes each time without an answer is crazy. "

  • "Love that the hostess is now seated outside the restaurant and is standing versus sitting. The staff was extremely friendly and our breakfast was great! Love the creme brûlée oatmeal (a must have). The coffee is great and I love they leave an entire pot at the table. Our server, Jessica, was so friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend to others!"

  • "The food and the service were ok, but nothing special. The prices were too high for the food and service. Before the remodeling, the restaurant had been my favorite to go to for special occasions. I doubt I will go there much in the future."

  • "We always look forward to an occasion at Sorin's as a very fine part of the Notre Dame experience. The service is excellent, the menu and food are reliably first-rate, the Notre Dame setting is unbeatable and the prices are reasonable. We have been coming to Sorin's at the Morris Inn for many years, long before it was called Sorin's. Our server, Mary, was friendly and helpful in every way. We're very happy that the renovation retained the historical murals.//"

  • "Enjoyed the Easter brunch. Would like to have seen a few more breakfast items on the menu. Food was good...loved the apricot glazed ham. Service was friendly and efficient, timely. A little noisy because we sat near the kitchen entrance. Overall, we liked the experience and would return ."

  • "First time, but not the last! There were four people in our party and all of had great meals! From the valet service to the hostess, servers, and chef, everyone did their part to allow us to have a perfect night. We will most certainly be back again soon!"

  • "My first experience after the remodel was not all that good, but they have improved and are more like the restaurant I remember. I would [and already have] recommended this restaurant to a friend."

  • "I didn't discover Sorin's until my senior year, but ever since then, I make sure to end my Notre Dame weekends with a brunch at Sorin's. The coffee is AMAZING and the brunch options are always delicious. It's in the renovated Morris Inn, which looks gorgeous now and is a huge improvement from before. Sorin's is pretty moderately priced, especially for the quality of food and service (and especially for being at ND, where everything is expensive)."

  • "I took a very special friend (who is from France and has very sophisticated taste) to dinner here. Both of us agreed that the food was excellent. We had a delightful server (Rebecca) who was most attentive and affable. Sorin's was a lovely experience. I will definitely come again (many times, I hope)."

  • "We three people had lunch ,as one female & two male this time. We do business lunch meetings always at sorin inn because this is the only my favorite place in the town. Our Guests from out of town always have dinner here with us. I was very disappointed this time only for poor service and I hope some one will improve the system."

  • "Great location and decor....The food was good and the staff was friendly....The service was lacking and the wait staff seemed a bit confused as it relates to coverage...."
    Dined on 4/6/2014
  • "We had a party of 8-- our group was shocked that on the beautiful campus of Notre Dame in a beautiful elegant building that Notre Dame apparently can't find a chef or at least a cook that is any better than the average cook at Denny's. Very disappointing-- omlet was burned-- had to cut it with a knife. The ham in the omlet was pieces of lunch meat. The ham was still cold. The omlet smelled like fish. The lobster bisk soup was out of a can. Disappointing from a great place like Notre Dame."

  • "loud. When they were renovating the Morris Inn, I wish they would have done something about the acoustics at Sorin's. It is, truly, the only downfall of the spot. Great food, service, staff, and beauty! That makes the acoustic consideration that much more tragic. This was my second visit at lunchtime, so I don't know if we're just a noisier group and dinner guests are quieter, but it is hard to have a normal conversation."

  • "Convenient, very good food. Seven of us at dinner and all enjoyed their dinners. Very good service."

  • "I had not been to the restaurant since it re-opened in the Fall of 2013. I was very happy with the renovations and the food was excellent! I loved the quiet environment. Look forward to be able to try the patio area which looks very inviting once the weather improves!"

  • "This was a birthday celebration for wife's mom and it could not have been any better. Juan gave us great service, best in area in a long time - very friendly, professional, attentive, and thorough. Food was exceptional from the soup and salad to wonderful main courses, culminating in a birthday dessert. A reasonable wine selection, however, priced higher than normal for some of the premium wines - higher on some than we see in Chicago or New York which does not make sense to me. Only downer was we ordered double espressos after dinner - definitely do not spend money on espresso as very poor quality. Stil, a great evening and we will return for a dinner with just the two of us."

  • "The food was great but our server was rude and wouldn't answer any questions."

  • "From the helpful valet parking (free) to the fine service, Sorin's is a great change-up for dinner or brunch. Located inside Morris Inn, the atmosphere is excellent. The food is very good, although it may not have the panache you see at Café Navarre or LaSalle Grill. Still, Sorin's should be added to the list of our very best restaurants, if it is not already there."

  • "We had a nice meal, 4 of us dining. Two couples. Drinks were good, wine list was nice. We had appetizers and meals that were really terrific. The only complaint was that it was soooo bright. We were told by our waitress that the lighting was being worked on, so hopefully that will be fixed."

  • "My Boyfriend and I ate here for Valentine's day, and we really loved our meal. It was a perfect amount of food for us, our service was great, and the food was delicious!"
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "I know it is a fine dining restaurant but the portions were extremely small. We had the Valentine's Day Menu for two. We both had they filet Mignon with lobster. My filet was half the size of what my wife had and very small and the same was true for the lobster. The gnocchi that came with it were dry and a little to crispy for my taste. The glasses were not clean and there are inconsistencies in the wine menu. My wife had a glass of Apothic "Zinfandel". The wine was good and we went looking for it at a liquor store. To our surprise there is no such thing as a Apothic Zinfandel. It's called Apothic Red and is a blend that has Zinfandel in it. I think that is a little bit of a misrepresentation. We will not go there again."
