Diner Reviews
  • "We came in for my boyfriend's birthday dinner with his parents and my 10 year old. Perfect celebration dinner! Arrive early and seated immediately in a lovely spot. We each had a different type of wine and the selection was great. My daughter spotted a mushroom fettuccini on the menu and asked me if she could get fettuccini Alfredo...I said I wasn't sure, and the wonderful waiter immediately offered to ask the chef. Came back moments later to report that the chef was happy to accommodate! GREAT service. At our table we had a steak, tuna, octopus, eggplant, scallops and polenta (and of course that fettuccini Alfredo!) and every plate was devoured. My second time here (first was a late dinner at the bar, also great!) Highly recommended."

  • "this was an incredibly awesome experience fantastic restaurant"

  • "The food and service were outstanding. The tables are close together making conversation from next tables intrusive. For us, the cost is such that only special celebrations are possible. It is very, very pricey -- London and New York upper levels."

  • "Amy was a fantastic waitress. She took terrific good care of us! This was the first time at the restaurant for 5 of 9 folks at our table. All of them loved the food and had fantastic evening. Success all around. Salmon tartare was outstanding. Gnocchi amazing as always. Steaks great for two who had them. Milanese was excellent too and the desserts were to dire for."

  • "We have dined at lots of well renowned restaurants around the world and we classed Sorellina as on of the best we have been to. The service was excellent as was the food. The wine list was excellent. Having a car service was an excellent idea.We will definitely recommend it to our Australian and American friends who visit Boston regularly."

  • "After the great meal at Ostra we decided to try one of the sister concepts, Sorellina. We had the same great service and meal. You may spend a little more but it is worth every penny."

  • "This restaurant has a reputation as one of the top restaurants in Boston. Prices are high. It doesn't measure up to its reputation. Portions are small. Service is good, but not great."

  • "Sorellina is one of my favorite restaurants. While I don't get there often, it's always a great experience and Tuesday was no different. I do have to give special mention to our server - while I can't remember her name, she was very helpful with suggestions and was very attentive without disturbing us too much."

  • "Menu had great choices. Food was excellently prepared. Service was great. Wine list was okay but had very few choices in the 50 to 75 price range per bottle. Most wine was in the 200/bottle range and did not seem to be a fair value."

  • "Sorellina is one of the top restaurants in Boston - hands down!!! Great ambience, great wine list, great server experience, and of course, the food is 10-star (if there was such a thing). Highly recommend adding this restaurant to your list!"

  • "We had outstanding food and service. Additionally, one in our party was on a low fat/no fat diet; the wait staff very nicely and happily accommodated the needs in consultation with the chef. From valet to reception to food and waitstaff this is a very well run restaurant."

  • "We thought the service - - - from the time we walked in the door and had Michaela help us so gracefully with our table, to the fabulous server - - - was top notch. The food always is delicious - one of our favs in Boston."

  • "I would recommend this restaurant. The food was creative and outstanding. Perfect portion sizes. Drinks and wine menu had a wide selection There was something for everyone. Service was a bit disappointing. Wait staff not overly friendly. Atmosphere was perfect for a small group."

  • "A small group of us (5) went to Sorellina to try it for the first time. Everyone ordered wine by the glass, and we had the "Dine out Boston" 3 course meal options. The waiter was not knowledgeable about the menu and he was aloof. He did not check in on our meals and our apps were incorrect (but since he never stopped by we were forced to continue with the meal). In addition, when the bill came out- he charged us for several bottles of wine (that we didn't order) -leading to an excess of $200 on the bill. His reaction when we pointed it out to him leads us to believe he did this on purpose (he lied). The restaurant was not busy- so this level of service from an establishment like this is an unwelcomed surprise. We are not going back."

  • "Went there during Restaurant Week and I'm not sure if their servings for their Restaurant Week menu is different than their normal ones but all we could think of was ELF FOOD. Don't get me wrong, the food was really tasty. I tried their salmon tartare for the appetizer and it was delicious and my husband said that the zuppa was also good. For the main course, we tried the chicken and the salmon and once again, they were delectable. Unfortunately, their servings left a lot to be desired for... and don't even get me started on the dessert. Overall, I'd suggest not going to this restaurant hungry because you will leave still hungry. Service was good albeit a little cold."

  • "We had a great meal during restaurant week. I ended up liking my husband's dishes more than mine - he got the cavetelli and pasta with mushrooms which were delish. I got the Salmon tartare and the steak, which were both pretty good. Very fancy decor and the service was great. Would definitely recommend it again, although it would be very pricey if it wasn't during restaurant week."

  • "I had a lovely experience during Dine Out Boston. Our server, Sarah, went above and beyond in sharing her endless knowledge for the menu and wine list. We stuck to the Dine out menu and then even explored the regular menu. Will absolutely return for more!"

  • "We tried the Dine out Boston menu, which consisted on a three course meal. Everything was delicious, but at the end it was too much food. The mushroom tortellini with white truffle was amazing, try it if you like mushrooms. The parsnip and onion soup was great (even though it doesn't sound like it). One ordered the steak and he loved it. I barely tried the dessert, and could have done without."

  • "So many restaurants, so little time...I rarely return. But for Sorellina, I would - in a heartbeat. Why: 1) great setting - high ceilings, dramatic decor, comfortable seating, enough sound-absorbing surfaces that even with a full crowd the noise level is moderate; 2) some really really good food - we ate from the 2014 DineOut menu - the chicken was to die for (yes it can be THAT great), as were the fallen lemon souffle and the chocolate-hazelnut dessert, and the bread and butter (again, sounds too simple to be amazing....but it WAS). Not as crazy about the salmon tartare, the endive salad, or the salmon entree. 3) terrific service - highly attentive but unobtrusive; 4) overall ambience."

  • "I have eaten at Sorrelina several times and it was very good. I wanted to bring friends, but they were concerned about the price. As a result, we went for Restaurant Week. I ordered the Cavatelli with lamb, the ribeye and the lemon souffle for dessert. The favor was excellent and the cavatelli was cooked perfectly. However, the ribeye was over cooked and poor quality. I understand it was restaurant week and that is why we were served a smaller piece of ribeye. The portion was fine, but the ribeye piece was the end piece with barely any center steak. It was mostly the fat ring around the bottom. It was very disappointing. I ordered it medium rare and it was served medium to mid well. The lemon souffle was outstanding with great flavor."

  • "Sorellina has been on my "must try" list for years, and i finally got a chance to try it for Dining Out Boston, and it was outstanding. the space is gorgeous, modern but refined (My partner said "This is place so NOT Boston...") While our server was just slightly slow, otherwise the service was great, water refilled, plates only taken away after we both had finished, and the food was really great. I had a cavatelli with xx appetizer, my partner has the zuppa and both were outstanding. My main was the rib eye, and he had the xx, again, both were great. The desserts were fine. I consider that disposable part of the dining out prixe fixe. The takeaway is that this place really impressed me, and in fact exceeded my expectations."

  • "This is a beautiful place to dine. But the fresh food here, while well cooked, is unexceptional in taste. Better options are available throughout the Back Bay. Dining cannot be done here inexpensively. Not a good value."

  • "I had the opportunity of eating at this nice restaurant. We were a party of five. We decided to order various plates and share them. It was the best idea ever. Every plate was outrageous. The ambiance of the place was nice and the staff was maniging the attenction perfectly, on top of things but not too much."

  • "We dined at Sorellina during Bostono's Dine Out 2014. The choices on the menu were great. I thought the food was delicious and the service was great. I think they gave a great value for restaurant week, and I would certainly dine with them again."

  • "Great place for special occasion. Their waiter and very polite and professional, we ordered three different main courses and all of them were fabulously delicious. It can be a little pricy but it definitely worth it."

  • "We went for restaurant week to try this one out which has been highly recommended by my friend and review. The food is elegant and restaurant ambience is very good, but food wise is not that impressive that I will return. It was a nice experience though."

  • "Restaurant Week menu was a little limiting, and no doubt designed to a lower price. We've eaten here before and really enjoyed the food, so hopefully we will return at a different time."
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "The meal portions are too small and very expensive for the price. We left the restaurant feeling unsatisfied especially for the amount of money we spent. They need to give more food with their meal selections."
