For the first time, my boyfriend announced that although his oysters were perfect, he should have ordered what I ordered! Everything we ate had outstanding flavor, was cooked to perfection, and was beautifully portioned. The kitchen staff even wrote "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate on our dessert plates (I had made note of the occasion in our Open Table reservation). Perhaps even better than the food, though, was the service. Our waiter Kirk was polite and professional, welcomed our questions about the menus, and offered excellent suggestions. Generally a lot of higher tiered restaurants boost high prices and good or average food. This was not the case with Sorellina. The food was AMAZING. We went her to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and we had the Wagyu meatballs as an appetizer, the lobster gnocchi and scallops as our entrees, and we split the molten lava cake for dessert. We also tried many different cocktails. You MUST try to Wagyu meatballs- both the lobster gnocchi and scallops were delicious, but the lobster gnocchi was better. I came in with four other girls for a birthday and we could not have been happier! The food was stunning, the wine was delicious and our server was very hospitable. We started with salads, tuna tartar and the amazing oysters. There's this lime ice component with the oysters that can't be forgotten!
I enjoyed the halibut, several girls ordered the lamb, etc. What great food! They brought out a delightful dessert with a Happy Birthday chocolate sign drizzled around the edge. Our group was big so we tried many different things: all the pasta plates were perfectly "al dente" with well prepared sauces, combined with truffles, or exquisite meat balls, sea food..... The veal, prepared as "milanesa" was indeed tasty and a gem to see. We closed with chocolate fondant and a plate of tiny donuts that were out of this world.

The service was both very professional and friendly. For starters we chose pasta with lamb ragu and tuna tartare. Mains were the halibut and salmon. All were delicious. We could not resist the tiramisu on the dessert menu and it did not disappoint. We had a superb wine from the Napa Valley to complement our meal.The lighting and vibe of this restaurant complements the good food and impeccable service. My tuna tartare was fresh and well presented, but bland. The fresh peas in the cavatelli dish were picked past their prime and so were pulpy - I know because I've made that mistake in my own garden. The scallops in my secondi dish could have benefited from a good sear in order to impart more flavor. The wine list was good, the service excellent, though I really don't need to know the waiter's name (pet peeve). The food was outstanding. From the Romaine salad to the dessert, there was nothing but good food. The penne with lamb ragu was delicious, the Wagyu beef meatballs were sumpuous. We also had the veal saltimbocca with was expertly cooked, although I found it a bit boring. The veal Milanese was absolutely delicious!!! The desserts were the finishing touch, the gelato was rich and filling but the warm fried doughnuts, they were delicious!!!!!! Although our server was aloof and seemed disinterested, the service overall was impeccable. The chocolate dessert was a thin cracker sized portion of cake with three berries and a table spoon of whipped cream. It was disgraceful. I had to order a side of potatoes. This is not my foist time at Sorellina. It is my wife's favorite restaurant for special occasions. We stopped going because it became so expensive. It is elegant, yet not stuffy...menu is diverse and full of wonderful flavors...from Steak Tartare, to Tuna Tartare to start, the meatballs are fabulous, the steak, the veal milanese...everything is superb. The winelist is wonderful. Great spot...but also, very much reflected in their prices. If you can afford it, go...if you have a special night, and can stretch it, go!
