A word from Sor Tino

Following in the successful footsteps of the Ago's in Los Angeles, Miami, and Las Vegas owner/restaurateur Agostino Sciandri is back in Brentwood. He has "brought Italy to our doorsteps" with a menu offering traditional Florentine dishes. An open kitchen with a pizza oven, small and large… distressed wood tables, rush chairs enhances the warm and friendly interior. Sciandri adds, “People don’t come here to look ….they come here to eat." "Sor Tino used to be my favorite Italian restaurant in the area but not now. Went with relatives, started with the Parmesan cheese and arugula pizza and it was excellent, the highlight of the whole dinner. I had the veal chop, had it before and always enjoyed it but not that night, it was bland, the wine reduction sauce had little flavor.
My wife had the rib eye and that was also bland. I had a piece of the steak and it seemed a bit tougher than with previous dinners. With some salt and pepper added, our meats were better.
My sister had a pasta dish, looked good and she seemed to enjoy it. Service was excellent as usual but the chef let us down big time."

"it was very crowded although we were seated. It too a long time to get meunus and oil to take. once the places cleared out, it was fine, but when the place was full the service was unacceptable. they needed more servers and staff. only one lady to entire inside of place. they were severely under staffed"

"The pasta - with boar ragu was delicious. I'd definitely return for it. However, the main entree - rack of lamb - seemed overpriced at $28 for what it was. Lamb was cooked well, though for that price I would have expected something a bit more memorable. Potatoes that came with it were overcooked. The entree was the most disappointing part. The calamari and tricolore salad specials were delicious - though they also seemed overpriced at $13-15. They had a nice wine selection with a very good range of both Italian and local wines. We were happy with our choice of wine. The dessert - the tiramisu - and the 20 year port was a nice way to end the evening. The service was prompt and very good."
